Daniel's pov

After a moment she dropped her hands and looked at me. Her eyes were red and swollen and her face was blotchy. "You're a coward," she said. Her voice was quiet now but the anger was still there. "You don't have the guts to leave me so you treat me like trash and hope I'll leave first."

I didn't answer.

She stepped closer and pointed her finger at me. "You're cruel Daniel. You're selfish and cruel and you don't care who you hurt as long as you get what you want."

Something inside me snapped.

"You want to know the truth Mia?" I said and my voice came out sharper than I intended. "Fine. Here's the truth. You're a simp."

She froze.

"You're a simp," I said again. "You let me treat you like dirt for years and you stayed. You let me ignore you and disrespect you and walk all over you and you never said a word. You never stood up for yourself. You never demanded better. You just stayed and took it because you were too afraid to leave."
