This time, Penelope isn’t just choosing love. She’s choosing her life.
View MorePerfection had followed Penelope since birth. From childhood, she wanted only one thing—to marry her first love after college and raise two beautiful children with him, a boy and a girl.
And the universe has done exactly what she always wished for, she believed herself to be the luckiest girl on earth.
There she was, during her bridal preparation that morning, looking stunning just hours before she would walk down the aisle.
Geoffrey, her husband-to-be, has been the love of her life since high school, and they have loved each other since then. They'll both be walking down the aisle in a few hours. The butterfly in her belly couldn't help but feel how joyful she was feeling.
“I know of just one beautiful bride, Pen, and that you, baby,” Hillary, her best friend, whispered into her ears, breaking her thoughts.
“Yes… Yes, I am. I feel it already—I feel beautiful and wonderful, Hillary. My fairytale ending is about to begin. I can’t wait,” Penelope said with a big, beautiful smile.
“I'm so sure Geoffrey will be glad to have you as his wife, no one will be able to tear their eyes away from you today, beautiful,” Hillary said, giving Pen an admiring look as the make-up artist added a final touch to her face.
“I'm done, ma'am. You look so pretty,” the make-up artist said.
“Awwnn thanks, thank you so much for making my face look flawless,” Penelope murmured.
“Your dress is next. Pen, let me help you out. We can't afford to be late; this is not a high school graduation.” Hill grinned.
Penelope slid into her short white wedding ball dress with a big beautiful chapel bow trail at the back, as Hill helped her with the lace-up closure. “What would I do without you, baby?” Pen stated.
“Let's hope you never find out," Hill said softly.
Pen’s mom died tragically five years ago from leukemia, leaving her with her dad and Hillary, whom she trusted more than anyone in the world. Her dad stated he won't remarry until Pen got married, he didn't want any woman treating his princess the way he didn't like.
The door creaked, and Mr Will, Pen’s father, entered the dressing room, and he was astonished.
“Oh, my baby, you look just like Cinderella. Can I ever be more proud than this moment? You've always made me proud, but this is exceptional, how I wish your mama witnessed this.” Mr Will was almost moved to tears as he looked into his daughter's eyes.
Tears welled up in Pen’s eyes. “I hope she's resting well, Dad. I know she's with me; she's always with me.”
“Don’t ruin your makeup, sweet. I'll leave you to it, Hillary. Please take care of my daughter. Mr Will said and Hillary nodded at his words, as he left the room for them to do their thing.
“Oops, I need to go check what's going on at the venue, everything must be just how I planned and requested. Will you be fine by yourself?” Hillary asked, and Pen gave a furrowed look, blinking her eyes continually.
“I'll be just fine,” Pen assured.
“My mom will be here soon, she'll help you get ready, and keep you company,” Hill promised.
“Thanks, hon.” Pen blew her a kiss.
Hill’s mom, Mrs Oretha, has been a wonderful woman to Pen since Mrs Will passed away. She tried her best to always be there for Pen and not make her feel the absence of her mom in any way.
Penelope travelled into her wonderland of thoughts, and suddenly missing Geoffrey, she thought to creep over to the other side of the hotel and surprise him, before Mrs Oretha got here, after all, they booked the same hotel apartment to prepare for the wedding.
She left her apartment and headed for Geoffrey's apartment, with joy welling up in her. She just loves being around the man she has loved since childhood.
Walking down the hallway, she decided to give him a call and confirm his exact location.
The phone rang four times before he picked up.
“Hey wifey-to-be, how are you doing?” he asked and she smiled like a baby.
Pen- “I'm doing great hubby-to-be.” still smiling.
Geoffrey- “Missing me?” he asked as though he could read her mind.
Pen- “Yuppy, I miss you all the time, is Varney with you?” Referring to his best man.
Geoffrey- “ No he just stepped out. How is the preparation over there?” he asked.
Pen- “I'm dressed, waiting for Hill’s mom.
Geoffrey- “Ok then, I'm at my apartment, rounding up and waiting for the rings to be delivered.”
Pen- “Ok, baby, see you soon. I love ya,” she grinned.
Five minutes later, she arrived at his apartment, carefully lifting her bow trail to keep it from brushing the floor. She didn't bother ringing the bell, she entered the passcode and walked in.
Entering the house, the butterflies in her belly cringed when she saw the black spool heels by the door.
She continued inside, and just when she wanted to call his name, she saw a beige dress strewn across the couch. Her stomach twisted.
She recognised the dress, and her brows furrowed. That dress was what Hillary was wearing before she left to check the venue. Looking back at the heels, she clocked it was the birthday gift she got for Hillary two months ago on her birthday.
Why was Hill here and not at the venue? And why didn't Geoffrey mention that Hill was with him? Penelope mused. Her heart raced as she moved towards the bedroom.
Her mind began connecting the dots, but her heart refused to accept them.
She decided to make up a story in her head. Maybe Hillary came to check up on Geoffrey, and a drink spilled on her dress, so she went to the bathroom to clean up.
But as she moved closer to the bedroom the story she was making up was getting less believable.
Penelope froze at the half-open bedroom door. For a moment, her mind went blank—then the truth crashed into her as tears streamed down her face. Hillary’s moans filled the air as Geoffrey thrust into her repeatedly. Geoffrey pulled her closely and sucked her boobs so intently.
“Geoffrey this marriage is just one year, as planned. You get her inheritance, and then we dump her.” Hillary stated as Geoffrey dipped his dick into her throat.
“Trust me, Hill, it's you I love. She is so silly and childish. I can't wait to get rid of her.” Geoffrey muttered and laughed mockingly. Immediately the illusion of perfection fractured without warning.
Penelope leaned back against the cool leather seat of the cab, her mind buzzing with the events of the morning.First was the visit with her soon-to-be stepmother, followed by Susan's call, and then her visit to Carlton's office. She couldn't shake the feeling that everything was moving too fast. The cityscape blurred past her window as she lost herself in thoughts, her fingers absentmindedly tracing the edges of her phone. Now that she had agreed to work with Carlton and had secured the interview with him, she needed to find an apartment—a safe place where she and the girls could stay away from Carlton's reach. The thought of Carlton, Geoffrey's cousin, finding out he was the girls' father, and everyone else getting to know about it too, sent a shiver down her spine. She couldn't let him know about her babies. She couldn't let anyone know that she had been with Geoffrey's cousin and had two babies for him. Not even her family could know about it. It was then that a sudden realizatio
After Sarah left, Penelope sat by the bedroom window with a cup of coffee in her hand, still trying to figure out the best course of action for her situation. The twins played quietly with their toys on the bed, their laughter acomforting background melody toPenelope's scattered thoughts. As she sipped from her coffee, lost inthoughts, her phone buzzed, joltingher from her reverie. She checked the caller ID and herheart skipped a beat when she saw itwas Susan. Penelope took a deepbreath before receiving the call."Good morning, Ma'am," she greeted, trying to sound composed even though she was far from it. Penelope's brows drew together in afrown when she heard Susan's happy laugh on the other end of the phone."Good morning, Penelope! How are you? I knew you were indeed the best person for this task," Susan said, her voice resonating with joy.Confused, Penelope frowned and asked, "Is everything okay? Did something happen?" "Of course, something happened and it's thanks to yo
Early the next morning, Sarah headed to The Banks Palace Hotel, resolved to mend what had been broken. The moment she arrived at the reception, she informed them she was there to see her daughter, and the receptionist put a call acrossto Penelope to get her permission. As Sarah rode the elevator up to Penelope’s suite, thoughts of Penelope and how much she’d missed her flooded her mind.Once she reached Pen’s door, she knocked, and after a moment, the door opened to reveal Penelope standing there, looking a bit surprised but quite happy to see her.“Penelope! It's really you," Sarah said in surprise, pulling Penelope into an embrace. "I couldn't believe it when the receptionist said my mom was here to see me," Penelope said, feeling relaxed in Sarah's embrace.Although Hillary had betrayed her and she harbored resentment towards Hillary, Sarah had always been a good mother to her since her biological mother passed away, and Penelope loved her. After they pulled apart, Sarah looked Pe
During dinner at the Will residenceHillary decided to bring up Penelope's return "Dad," she started, and both her parents looked at her when they detected the seriousness in her voice. "Yes, dear?" Mr. Eric Will responded."Is there a problem?" Hillary's mom, Mrs Sarah Oretha asked, concern evident in her voice as she paused mid-meal to look at her daughter.Eric also glanced at Hillary with concern in his eyes. "Is everything okay?" he asked when Hillary looked at them hesitantly as if she wastrying not to say something.Seeing that she had both their attention, she sighed deeply, "I'm not sure how to bring this up," she said, looking distressed."You're not sure how to bring what up? Is there a problem?" Sarah asked again, looking even more concerned now. “Go on and tell us if there is a problem,” Eric urged her.Hillary sighed deeply as she looked down at her plate. “Has either of you heard from Pen? Are you aware that she's back?" she asked and both her mother and Eric exchanged
