The night was sure going the way Loretta thought it would. She was bored, she needed a drink, but she didn't know the one to get because she didn't want to get too drunk, that she wouldn't be able to do anything. So, she just sat there, looking at servers come and go, thinking to herself, that servers need to get serious tips for their work.
She saw the same server that went in Lauren's direction, drag a drunk lady puking everywhere out the back exit. Worse she was barefoot.
Loretta didn't want such to happen to Lauren and although she could still see her silvery hair, she couldn't go after her. Her hatred for the crowd was the only thing stopping her from moving.
She took her phone out of her purse and looked at the time, it wasn't even close to midnight. This was going to be a long night. How she would kill for a text message right now.
She recently blocked all her contacts especially, Ken and Roy
"Right? Alex, I'm so glad you get it...someone gets it."Loretta didn't believe anyone else would say what she's felt for over three years now. The thing is, Loretta never said she wanted to remain alone forever, but being rushed into finding someone or bringing a partner home, wasn't something she wanted to do. She wanted to take her time. She wanted to prepare herself mentally, maybe she looked ready physically but not mentally. These things don't just happen. Right now, it would really be nice if she met someone that would stick with her, and wait for her to get ready."Of course, I get it," Alex continues "Some people are just not destined the same way. Some get married early, and some wait a while, it might seem like they never will but then, they do. And there are the ones that don't get married at all maybe because they don't want to, or maybe it just isn't right for them"."A
It was way past midnight now. Loretta wasn't so sure she'd ever stayed out this late. Even if she wanted to stay up this late, it would be at home not outside, or in a club where her best friend was drunk and she was now recently sucking on Jäger.Loretta knows Laurens a serious mess when she gets drunk, she talks shit when she's drunk. She didn't exactly want Lauren to be in all of this all by herself."Alex, I want to taste it"."Are you sure you can handle it? I mean some people can't exactly handle Jäger. So are you sure you want it?”"C’mon, why are you trying to make this sound like it's some impossible mission Alex, it's just one shot. I just want to taste it. I want to know if I should get ready to take Lauren home"."OK miss Loretta, if you say so. Patrick! Give us a shot of Jäger" Alex said raising his hands "My lady brace yourself, for the be
CHAPTER SEVENTEEN"Fuck! How did I not remember this... oh jeez, that Jäger," she said talking to herself."Why did I forget this? Oh no, I could have asked Alex, he could have helped". "No, I rejected his offer. Stupid! Stupid!Another offer would have helped out, and I ended up rejecting again. Loretta what the hell’s wrong with your head?"."Plus, someone's got to watch Lauren. They're no taxies around. Are we going to sleep here?"She was still talking to herself, when Lauren groaned, opened the door, and threw up outside. Lots and lots of vomit. She was badly drunk.Loretta was tired, drunk, and frustrated. For some reason, she was still alive and not half-dead like Lauren. She hit her head on the steering wheel multiple times, causing the car to honk multiple times not minding the noise, her problem
Alex starts the car and moves. Loretta was so glad she was finally taking Lauren home. She needed a long bath; she'd just sit there and probably dose off. But unluckily, Lauren only had a showerhead so it was going to have to be a quick one.She brought her phone out of her purse and checked the time, it was almost four. She sighed and leaned back, still holding muttering Lauren. What was she going to do with Alex, she couldn't just tell him after he's dropped them, to go home this late? She was going to have to tell him to sleep over, till it was bright enough to go back home. If he doesn't want that, she's going to have to seriously convince him to a sleepover. It was just a few hours, it wouldn't hurt."Hey Alex, thank you for not laughing when I told you I couldn't drive. I don't tell much people; it is a little embarrassing"."Why would I laugh, its nothing to be ashamed of at all. It is not the
Alex was speechless for a while before Loretta realized what she said."Oh no, oh my gosh no, that's not what I meant. Gosh, that's not what I meant, oh jeez I feel silly right now" she put her hand on her forehead and put her head down. Alex burst out laughing."Miss Loretta, I don't even know what to feel or say"."Oh, jeez Alex, that's not what I had in mind. It just came out unexpectedly, I just want to ask if you would sleep over, you know cos it's late, and you can't go out this late. I for one wouldn't want to go out this late and...""Miss Loretta easy, let me save you the stress. Yes of course I'll stay over, till it is bright enough to go home"."Ok", she said her cheeks getting rosy. "I thought, it was going to be hard convincing you to stay. Do you want anything to eat? I think we have raw eggs, cereal, and ice cream, beautiful choices"."What!" A
Six hours after Lauren finally slept off, she opened her eyes. It was bright out and quiet too, oddly quiet. She wondered what happened, how she was home, how she got to bed, and why the hell she woke up. She was still really tired, felt like she just closed her eyes for two minutes. She looked around her, trying to recall something, anything. She had the worst kind of headache, and the fullest bladder, that was what probably woke her up. She heard Loretta's calls ringing in her head "Lauren! Lauren! Get up!" She had to get up now, she was sure her head was going to explode in the next second. "Oh God, my head, I need Aspirin," she said getting out from the bed. First, she had to go to the bathroom, wondered how long she held it in. She was a bit worried; Loretta wasn't in the same room with her, and s
Lauren stayed locked in her room, leaving Alex alone to do whatever he wanted, she didn't mind. She wanted to be by herself, not with some Loyal Alex company she didn't exactly trust. For someone she didn't exactly trust, she shouldn't have left him alone in her living room. What if he sneaks out with something? Maybe her ice cream. She recalled touching the bucket and remembered it was a lot bigger before, now it felt lighter like the cereal box.Ok, she didn't bother about the cereal, but her ice cream, no, things got a lot more personal and she knew Mr. Alex had something to do with it.She wasn't going to fret if he touched any of her belongings, or ran away with them, but her ice cream, he'd better not touch it again.Unless she permitted him to.She just lay face down on her bed, thinking back, trying to remember what happened last night.
"My lady, do you go to church?" Alex asked watching her. When he said grace out loud, he wasn't sure she liked it. He didn't want to go to one's home, forcing something they didn't want.He respected everyone's decision. It was theirs to make not his, and he was only going to butt in if he was asked to."Well, I used to, I don’t know if that's something I should talk about right now. It brings back annoying and painful memories"."It could feel less painful if you share it with me," Alex says "Do you have a religion?""Well yeah, of course, I do, Christianity"."Same as me," Alex says "You know Roman catholic. So, you mind telling me what happened my lady?""Sure, although I'm not too sure I'm allowed to talk about it. It has a lot to do with Lauren".***"When we were younger, thirteen or f
