Chapter Twenty-three

  Annie and her father are sitting inside their car with displeased expressions on their faces. 

 "Dad, you really shouldn't bother" 

 "What do you mean I shouldn't bother? That Bianca girl has been mean to you. What if you broke your leg and it wasn't a little sprain? You wouldn't be here" 

 "Fine, you can report her to the school authorities", she replies and opens the door beside her. "But you can be rest assured that I won't be telling you about what's going on in my life anymore", she adds and her father's eyes widen. 

 "Come on sweetie, don't say that" 

 "If you're going to overreact like this every time, it's not out of place" 

 "I'm not overreacting, that girl hurt you, intentionally. You want to let that go?" 

 "You and Mum always taught me to be forgiving" 

 "I also remember we taught you not to let anyone mess with you", Bruce argues
