Chapter Twenty-two
The Le cinq guys are walking out of the boy's locker room talking together when Rick joins them.
"Did you hear what happened during cheerleading practice today?", Rick asks and they give him a quizzical look. "I guess not"
"What happened?", Dave asks.
"Annie had to be rushed to the hospital", Rick announces and Will's eyes dilate in shock.
"What happened?", he stutters.
"She fell down during cheerleading practice. You know how their stunts are"
"So where did….. is she okay right now? Damn! Wait a minute", Will stammers and starts searching his pockets. He brings out his phone and calls Carrie. "Carrie, where is Annie?"
"She is fine, don't worry".
"Where are you?"
"We're in her house, the principal just dropped us here"
"I'm on my way"

Will trudges into his home and collapses into a cushion, shutting his eyes for some seconds before standing up. He walks towards the refrigerator in the dinning area to bring out a beer.
