Taken aback, I instantly stepped back. Tongue tied and speechless, I stood there staring at him in confusion.

“Have you suddenly gone deaf?” He yelled at me again. “I just asked you a question. What the hell do you think you're doing, hugging me like that? Since when did we get so affectionate? Huh?”

I was completely confused and for a moment, I didn't understand what was going on. This was someone with whom we had a very beautiful time hours before, but it seemed like he had become someone else in just a matter of hours. Like he had become a completely different person.

Finally able to find my voice, I began to speak, “I'm sorry. I didn't mean to offend you. I thought we were already getting along. I thought that we—”
