Chapter 3

They both glanced at the file which he had placed at their front, then shared a knowing gaze of agreement between each other before turning to Gavin.

“We would do as it says here, you can be rest assured.” One of the men spoke with a thin smile on his lips, but Gavin’s face was expressionless, he was indifferent to most people.

“I will sent a different time and place for our official meeting.” He told them and was about to get up.

“Mr. Gavin, there is something you need to know.” One of the men spoke and Gavin’s attention turned to him.

“What is it?” He questioned.

“Mr. Kim is meeting up people in secret, and I heard it from one of the men he met, one who is loyal to us in secret.” He spoke up and Gavin scoffed.

“Mr. Kim is only a front man, he must be working for someone who chose to keep his identity hidden,” Gavin glanced at Raymond and his forehead creased. “I will look into it, just work on what that file says.” Gavin got to his feet and they also stood up.

“Good evening, Mr. Gavin.” They greeted him and he nods to them before walking out of the VIP lounge without glancing at Raymond.

Once they were out of the club house, his driver pulled over at the entrance of the building and Eric quickly held the backseat door open for him.

Gavin halt before entering and glanced at the building and turned to Eric. “I want you to find out the names of those who Mr. Kim met, and find out what plan he is devising.”

“Okay, Sir.” Eric responded and Gavin got into the car. “Goodnight, Mr. Gavin.” Eric shut the door and the car drove off.

Gavin glanced out of the window and he recalled how he had been trying to make way through the crowd when suddenly his shirt was grabbed by someone and how her hand had looped over his neck.

He touched his neck slowly and his thoughts turned back to her face that quickly turned at him and how their lips touched, he traced his lips with his fingers and shut his eyes momentarily.

Once he opened his eyes, it was filled with coldness yet again, he drew a sharp breath and opened his iPad, and he glanced through the files he stored in it to take his mind off all the thoughts on his mind.

Ariella was out of breath when she arrived home, she shut the door and pushed the lock, panting heavily she slides down the door to catch her breath.

Why was I even running?

She swallowed hard and drew a sharp breath as she began chuckling, feeling so proud of herself right now, she pressed down her lips, using her left hand, she wiped off the sweat on her forehead, and she was definitely down with that job.

She had lost the security guards a few miles from the club house, since she had hidden and seen them make their way to the other side while she took the opposite direction.

Damn it, the things they would have done to me if they had caught me.

Arielle knew how brutal Mr. Henry was, she had taken what was rightfully his, but still, he wouldn’t let go of her, he was a bas**ad and good thing she never told him where she lived.

She was smart not to do that, her father had told her lots about club parties and she had heard rumors of wicked bosses, she was clever and only put her real addresses in the nice part time jobs.

She glanced down at her cell phone with a smirk on her face, and her money was complete finally, now she only needs to concentrate on the important jobs.

She got to her feet and made way to the bathroom to wash of all the sweat and dirty from her body, she was too exhausted from all the running.

After a hot bath, she jumped on her small bed and laid up staring at the ceiling, a satisfying grin ran through her lips, she was proud she had not taken shit from anyone today.

“Thanks to those men in the VIP lounge.” They had sparked the boldness in her and because of them her boss had no option but to send her complete wages.

She bites down her lower lips and quickly her eyes dilated again and she sat up, she blinked, recalling how her lips had touched his.

“Oh shit, I kissed him.” She touched her lower lips and closed her eyes, feeling his soft pink lips on hers, she swallowed hard, her thoughts turned back at his hand that wrapped her waist and how he pulled her close to his hard chest.

Slowly a smile formed on her lips, a smile she did involuntary, she kissed someone, a stranger, she wondered what her best friend would say when he hears this.

She shook her head and lay back on bed. “He is still a stranger to me, and I would likely never meet him again, whereas I won’t be going back to that place. She closed her eyes and it wasn’t long before she dozed off snoring.

“No--- don’t--- please--- No…”

Gavin quickly sat up panting heavily, his body was soaked with sweat, he gulped for air and his heartbeat raced in his chest.

He reached for the glass of water that was on the bed next to his stool, his hand trembling, he tried to steady his shaking hands, slowly turning the water into the glass, and he gulped it.

He drew a sharp breath and placed his hand on his forehead, it was that nightmare again, the dream that has remained in his head for five years.

He shuddered and glanced at the wall clock, it was only past four, and he clenched his jaw and got out of bed.

He walked into the bathroom and turned on the faucet and splashed cold water on his face, he curled his hand into fist and tears clustered in his eyes, tears he wanted to suppress, he was in battle with himself, a battle that was hard to defeat, and he sniffled and pressed down his lips.

He had lost a lot, he had lost people he loved, people he wasn’t ready to lose, and this emotion was the only thing he couldn’t control, the only thing that was hard to fight back.

Tears rolled down his cheek and he covered his face with his hand and groaned, this was a part of him he didn’t want anyone to see, a part of him that makes him vulnerable.
