LOGINSienna POV
I had a feeling that after I finished eating, Red would make me do something intense. He was probably going to talk to Belle and tell her to give me a hard time. I narrowed my eyes at him. Behind that serious face, I was sure he was planning something to get back at me for what I did earlier. He was lucky he only had to smell my morning breath. Suddenly, someone pushed me, almost making me fall flat on the floor. Irritated, I turned to Nicolas, who was giving me an awkward smile. I glared at him. “Why did you push me?!” “Sir has been calling you for a while. Maybe because you haven’t eaten yet, your mind is flying somewhere else.” “Even you, Nicolas, would probably go crazy if you hadn’t eaten anything.” I looked at Red. He was sitting facing them, so I had a clear view of his expression. “What was that? Can you repeat it? It didn’t reach my ears.” Red slowly shook his head. “I do have plans for you—to learn everything Belle will teach you as soon as possible.” “I can handle that, as long as you feed me first.” Red sighed and gestured to Nicolas. “Take her to the kitchen, Nicolas. Feed her everything that will help her brain function.” My eyes narrowed. Did he really think I wasn’t smart? I graduated with honors in elementary school! “Let’s go, Ms. Sienna.” I rolled my eyes at Red. Not like he could see it anyway, so it was fine. I flashed Belle a big smile, even though she was already frowning while examining every inch of me. --- Nicolas and I walked through the extremely long hallway—far longer than any palace corridor. Seriously, only a few people lived here yet the house was massive. I glanced at every display we passed, resisting the urge to touch anything. I didn’t want to accidentally break something and end up paying for it with more than my salary. We entered a spacious kitchen. I actually enjoyed cooking, so seeing such a clean and elegant kitchen made me excited. It looked so fresh and inviting, perfect for cooking. Maybe I could try it sometime—when Red wasn’t around. “The maids here must be earning a lot, right?” Nicolas stopped beside a narrow stone island table, as tall as our chests, paired with equally high chairs. “Yes. Around one hundred thousand a month.” My eyes widened and I moved closer to Nicolas, so close I could see his pores despite how handsome he was. He pushed my forehead back, clearly uncomfortable. “You’re a little too close, Ms. Sienna. And that salary isn’t really surprising.” “What do you mean? The highest I’ve heard is fifteen thousand! And here, it’s one hundred thousand. If it’s not surprising to you, it definitely is for me.” For someone as strict as Red, he sure paid his staff generously. Maybe I should just become a maid instead of his fake girlfriend. That sounded like a good idea. I should try asking him later. “I may not be a mind reader, but I can already tell what you’re thinking, Ms. Sienna. Sir won’t change his mind. You already signed a contract, so there’s no backing out.” I grinned so wide my eyes were basically smiling too. “It was worth a try.” Nicolas shook his head and instructed one of the maids to prepare food. I climbed onto the tall chair, almost falling off in the process. I waited quietly while Nicolas stood beside me. “Do you want to sit? Have you eaten?” “Yes. I eat before Sir Red.” “Why?” I asked, confused. “I wake up earlier, and besides, after he eats, we immediately leave. I can’t afford to be late unless I want to starve while we’re out.” “You’re a butler, right?” “Yes.” “Shouldn’t you be staying here at home?” He blinked several times, as if he just realized that too. “Just because I’m a butler doesn’t mean I should stay in the house. I’m practically Sir’s secretary as well, even though he already has one at the company.” “Wow. You really do a lot.” I pouted. “You’re here to eat, Sienna. Not to chat with Nicolas.” I turned around. Seriously, Red must be on his period—his mood was terrible. And my food wasn’t even served yet. “We can still talk. And besides, what are you doing here?” Red tilted his head slightly. “As far as I know, this is my house and my kitchen.” “I never said it wasn’t your house. I just asked why you were here in the kitchen.” I wasn’t saying anything wrong. Nicolas moved closer to me and gestured me to calm down, fear visible in his eyes. I glanced back at Red, and of course—there it was again, that dark aura surrounding him. His face was scrunched up in annoyance. “What are you doing here? Do you want to eat too? We can eat together,” I said cheerfully. “I can eat alone.” I pursed my lips. He was so grumpy. “Hurry up. You’re wasting time.” “Yeah, yeah, you can go now.” I faced the table as the maid set down an excessive amount of food, as if I had ordered for five people. I dug in, ignoring whether Red had left or not. --- After eating, I leaned back against the chair. I was so full from the dishes that were all new to my taste buds. I needed the energy, so I ate until I couldn’t take another bite. “Stand up, Ms. Sienna. Let’s go back to the living room.” I looked at Nicolas, who had been standing beside me the whole time. “Can I extend for thirty minutes? My stomach’s too big to walk right now.” Nicolas smiled. He really was handsome. “We can’t stay here any longer. You might face the worse version of Sir Red.” “Tsk… even if he breathes fire, I don’t care. But fine!” I stepped down from the tall chair, nearly throwing up because of the sudden drop. Who designed chairs like these? We walked out of the kitchen, though I lagged slightly behind because walking fast with a full stomach was torture. When we reached the living room, Belle immediately stood up. Red was there too, standing in front of a transparent wall that showed the outside view. As if he could actually see anything out there. “Let’s start!” Belle said with a bright smile. My smile, however, didn’t even reach my cheeks. I was definitely not ready. “Our first lesson today is Poise and Posture.”Sienna POV Belle crossed her arms and raised a brow.“Your boss wants this. So you have no choice. Now start again. Five steps—if you manage five steps, we stop for today. I’m going home after that.”A wide smile spread across my face. Surely, I could handle five steps. Besides, I still needed to find a hiding place for the broken plate.I exhaled sharply, closed my eyes for a moment, then opened them again.Slowly, I began to walk. I didn’t lift my feet properly—more like sliding them across the floor—just to achieve Belle’s precious five steps.---I was one step away from success when my foot landed wrong. My right ankle twisted sharply. I squeezed my eyes shut, unable to balance; my entire body was definitely going to crash onto the floor.I waited for the impact—but nothing hit me.I opened my eyes and turned, frowning at the man currently holding me in his arms.“Red?”He immediately pulled away and gave me a slight push, but because my ankle had twisted, I couldn’t stand prop
Red POV “N-No, Sir. I was going to give you this month’s report once you arrived. It’s in my office, I’ll get it right away.” Freya rushed out and returned quickly. She handed me the report. I couldn’t review it yet because the equipment I used to read documents was at home.“Go back to your work.”Once Freya left, I sat down with both documents in my hands.“A lot of things seem to be going wrong in your company, Sir Red,” Nicolas said.“They’re taking advantage of my weakness. But they don’t know I’m smarter than all of them—even if I can’t see.”“Who do you think sent you the wrongs reports?”“The real question is: which one is real? If someone were to send me a report, it should be the correct one—but it wasn’t. That means money really is being stolen from the company, and the bigger question is: who sent this to me?”“Could it be one of your employees? Someone who knows something suspicious is happening?”“Possibly. Or maybe not.”“It’s difficult to tell who it is. But if the do
Red POV Nicolas guided me toward a chair. What exactly was Richard saying about the company?“Sorry, Red, but your company is on the brink of collapse. Many investors have chosen to pull out because of your condition.”I smirked. “My condition? What does my condition have to do with whether they invest or not? You’re all here to help me. What exactly have you been doing—and why is my condition the main topic of this meeting?!”“They want someone else to run your company, Red. The other directors have already agreed it’s time for you to step down as CEO.”A smirk that turned into a quiet laugh escaped me. I built this company from the ground up, and now just because I can’t see, they think I should be replaced? No matter how useful they think they are, I’m still the one who decides what happens to this company.“Where’s Adam?” I asked.“He’s not here. We don’t know where he is.”I rubbed my temple. The COO of the company was missing at the exact moment I needed him.“No one is replac
Red POV When I reached the living room. “I’ve done it.” “Good.” I shook my head. If I didn’t need Sienna’s help, I would never have apologized. I know I’ll never find another woman like her—she’s the only one who fits the kind of personality I want in a woman. Out of all the girls Nicolas tried to introduce to me, only Sienna wasn’t swayed by my looks or money. “Even if you wave all your wealth in front of her, Sir Red, she’ll never let anyone win over her. She mentioned that herself, so even if it’s difficult, you’re the one who needs to humble yourself.” “This is the last time. I don’t want to be the one to approach her again just to apologize.” “Even if you were the one at fault?” I turned seriously toward the right, where Nicolas’s voice came from. Sienna is only pretending to be my girlfriend, and I don’t want her getting too close to me. We’ll only act in front of people—after that, we go our separate ways. That’s all. “Even if I was the one at fault.” I’m sure Nicol
Sienna POV I shook my head. “When I get angry, it lasts the whole day. As long as I see the person who made me angry, it won’t go away, and I might end up saying something I’ll regret. I’d rather not eat.” I turned to Nicolas. “I’ll go to my room first. Belle’s still eating anyway. I’ll just come back later when she’s done.” I couldn’t read Nicolas’s expression, but he gave me a small smile before I walked away. --- Once I reached my room, I grabbed a pillow and punched it repeatedly until I got tired. I dropped to the floor, panting. I didn’t want to lie on the clean bedsheets because I was drenched in sweat and didn’t want it to stick to the pillow and blanket. I sighed and stared at nothing. At the bar, my boss had been so kind, but here—he might be rich, yet his attitude was terrible. I tilted my head for a moment before breaking into a wide smile, remembering the biscuit in the pocket of the shorts I wore last night. I searched for the shorts in the laundry basket beside
Sienna POV My mouth fell open at what Red said. It was as if he was telling me that what I was doing was easy, even though it clearly wasn’t. “What did you just say?” I asked seriously. I walked up to him and stopped right in front of him. “Say that again.” He tilted his head slightly. Red always seemed to know exactly where a person was even without seeing them. “I said,” he repeated, “what Belle’s making you do is easy. Why can’t you do it right away?” I bit my lip hard. This man was really getting on my nerves, and I needed to calm myself down before I lost it. “If it’s that easy, then go on—do it yourself. Let’s switch places. I’ll sit there, and you wear these stilettos and walk in a straight line. Then we’ll see if you can still say it’s ‘easy,’” I said firmly. Red raised both eyebrows. “Why would I do that? I hired Belle to teach you, not me.” “Oh, you—” I shut my eyes, trying to hold myself back. Belle and Nicolas were just watching us. Nicolas looked especially worr
