Chapter 72: Serenades

KEILAH

I was afraid to open my eyes.

It was two days left until the day of the wedding, and with each passing day, my hope gets shattered to pieces every time I opened my eyes.

The doctor predicted that I would already have my vision at this time, but still, with no luck.

I finally opened my eyes and held my breath, wanting to see how the light shone upon our room today.

"Baby?" Enzo said when he noticed me fidgeting.

"Any luck today?" he asked.

I pursed my lips together and shook my head.

That's still all I could see.

He let out a sigh before I felt him wrap his arms around me.

"It's okay, baby," he said. "Give yourself more time, huh?"

"How long?" I impatiently asked. "We'll get married in two days, Enzo," I said.

"The wedding doesn't have to be your deadline, Keilah," he assured. "If you want, we can postpone the wedding and have it when you can already see—"

"No," I quickly shook my head and wrapped my arms around his torso.
