“What is the meaning of this? Why is this wicked witch still in my house?” Caroline, Caleb’s mother exclaimed as she entered the house, her face twisted with fury.

Both Ashley and Caleb turned towards the door, seeing the group who had just entered, with Vanessa at the center, seated in a wheelchair, her face pale and fragile, as though the slightest touch might break her.

The moment Ashley saw Vanessa, she rushed towards her without thinking, grasping her hand firmly, her eyes brimming with tears, “Mrs Bennett, please tell Caleb the truth. Tell him I didn’t stab you. I didn’t push you down the stairs. You did that to yourself. Please—“

But before Ashley could finish, Vanessa let out a sharp, piercing shriek, her eyes widening with terror as if she had just seen something horrifying. She dragged her fingers through her hair roughly, her body trembling uncontrollably.

“I-it’s her… don’t let her touch me!” Vanessa cried, shrinking back into the wheelchair.

Ashley froze.

Before she could even process what was happening, a pair of rough hands shoved her hard and she lost her balance, crashing onto the floor.

“You wretch!” Caroline advanced towards Ashely and slapped her hard across the face. “How dare you continue to bully my daughter-in-law? Haven’t you done enough already?” She yelled into Ashely’s face, her voice dripping with venom.

Ashley clutched her burning cheek, her vision blurring with tears as one question echoed endlessly in her mind. What had she done to deserve this. Why were they all so cruel to her?

From the corner of her eyes, she saw Caleb rush past her towards Vanessa, pulling her into his arms in a comforting embrace, stroking her hair softly. “My love… are you okay? Did she frighten you? I’m so sorry!” he whispered, his voice low and soothing, unlike when he was shouting or yelling at her.

Ashley clutched her chest firmly at the sight, his actions cutting through her pain like a knife. This was it. The final nail to the coffin of her marriage, driven in by the very man she once believed she would spend her forever with.

Her hand traveled to her stomach, rubbing slow, soothing circles as her tears spilled over. Now she realized how foolish she had been to have expected anything from him. There was never going to be a future for them from the start. To him, she was simply just the woman who had come in between him and his childhood sweetheart. No matter how hard she tried or stayed in this marriage, she was only ever going to be an outsider to him and the rest of his family.

Drawing in a deep breath to steady her nerves, Ashley’s gaze met with the old, calculating gaze of the matriarch, Eleanor. She held her stare, her heart racing, desperately hoping to find a flicker of trust in them, after all, she had been there when patriarch Gerald, had insisted on this marriage. But it was clear with the old man gone, the old woman held no faith in her granddaughter-in-law anymore.

Turning her face away, the old woman made her lack of faith in Ashley known, making the tears she was so desperately trying to hold back, to spill over.

Beatrice, Caleb’s younger sister, stared at her with contempt before turning to face her brother, “big brother, I told you from the start that this useless bitch was no good. You should’ve thrown her away the moment she stepped into this house. But no, you kept her. And now look at what she’s done to Vanessa. You need to get rid of her and throw her in prison where she belongs!” she sneered, turning to Vanessa and offering her a reassuring smile.

Ashley sat there on the ground, feeling the sting of Beatrice words cut through her like a knife. Today was supposed to be the happiest day of her life, Instead, she sat there like an outcast, unwanted in her own husband’s home… in the house she had once tried so hard to belong to.

“Are you sure about this son?” Victor’s calm voice broke through the tension as his eyes fell on the divorce papers lying on the ground. He was Caleb’s father, a business man with years of experience in the family business. “Are you sure you really want to end this marriage?”

He had known Ashley since the day she entered the Montclair family manor.

Not once had she caused trouble.

Not once had she raised her voice.

She endured everything, remaining a devoted housewife, even when his family treated her worse than a servant.

Which was why… something about all of this didn’t sit right with him. The incident with Vanessa felt too extreme and convenient. Still, he said nothing more.

In the end, whatever decision his son chose to make, Victor could only hope, that he wouldn’t come to regret it.

  • The Bride He Abandoned    The Woman In Red

A Few Hours AgoThe Montclair Family ManorCaleb sighed deeply after reading the last line of the proposal rejection email. “I was such a big fool to think they were going to help us,” he mumbled in defeat, massaging his temples. His hair was messy due to the amount of times he had run his fingers through them. The first three buttons of his shirt was left undone and his eyes were swollen from lack of sleep.“You don’t have to blame yourself love, you’ve done your best.” Vanessa said softly from where she sat opposite him.“Can’t you see my best is not enough, if I don’t take care of this issue soon, the company could go under, and we’ll lose everything we’ve worked so hard to build.” Caleb said in frustration, tossing the phone to the desk. Five years had passed since he officially took over as the Ceo of Montclair enterprise, yet the Montclairs were still ranked as the ninth conglomerate company in the country. But now, for the first time since assuming control of the company, he f

Ashley’s smile widened the moment she felt her little girl’s arms wrap tightly around her back. She deepened the hug, rubbing her back softly as soft giggles escaped her lips. After a few moments, Ashley slowly pulled away just enough to look at her face.“Look who’s up and all dressed up,” Ashley said, rubbing her tiny hands softly. “Ready to follow mama to her big party tonight?”Sophia’s face lit up like the sun itself. She threw her small hands into the air and shouted, “Yes! Let’s go!”Ashley couldn’t help but laugh softly. This little bundle of joy had been her solace for years. That laugh—bright and innocent—was the one thing that had kept her grounded during endless nights of pain and loneliness. She reached over and pulled Sophia into a hug, holding her close.“Okay, princess,” Ashley whispered, her lips pressing lightly against Sophia’s hair. “But you have to promise to listen to mummy throughout tonight alright?”Sophie let out a bright smile, her eyes sparkling. “Okay, mum

  • The Bride He Abandoned    The Real Ashley Beaumont

Five Years Later The Beaumont Family Manor The evening was young and cold, the crisp, autumn breeze sweeping through the Beaumont estate, carrying dried fallen leaves along with it. Inside the Beaumont family manor, Ashley sat in front of her dresser, letting out a quiet sigh as she applied the final touches of her make up. She was dressed in a deep crimson gown that clung to her like a second skin, the smooth fabric outlining every curve as it flowed down to the floor. A slit ran up one side, revealing her long legs, while the plunging neckline revealed a bit of cleavage, making her look like she’d just stepped out of a magazine cover. “Are you sure this is the right dress for this event, Vee? I feel like I’m doing too much wearing this.” Ashley asked her best friend over face palm. Her iPhone was seated comfortably on the mirror while she adjusted her black diamond earring. “Trust me babes, it’s perfect. This is your first official appearance since returning, so you need to sh

Inside the Montclair family manor, silence descended the moment Ashley walked out the door. The entire family stood frozen in stunned disbelief. For what felt like an eternity, no one spoke. No one moved. They simply stared at the entrance she had just walked through, as though an invisible force still lingered there, suffocating the room with unbearable pressure. And as they stood there in silence, one terrifying realization crept into their minds. For the first time in years… they had felt fear. The thought itself was absurd. They were the Montclair family, one of the wealthiest and most influential families in the country. Among the ten richest conglomerate families in the world, the Montclairs ranked ninth and were revered as one of the Four Noble Houses. They stood at the very top of society. People feared them. Worshipped them. Bowed their heads in their presence. And yet… a woman they had always looked down on, a poor nobody named Ashley Stone, had managed to ma

Before anyone could react, Ashely’s hand lashed out at lightning speed, delivering two sharp slaps across Vanessa’s face. Smack! Smack! The sound echoed loudly across the room, stunning everyone into shock. Vanessa clutched her burning cheek, her eyes widening in disbelief as she stared at Ashley. For a moment, she even forgot to continue her pitiful act, not believing this poor nobody had actually dared to slap her. “What the fuck Ashley! How dare you touch Vanessa?” Caleb roared, his anger spilling over as he rose from his seat, staring daggers at his now ex-wife Ashley. It was taking him everything just to hold back from acting impulsively. However, to his dismay, before he could reprimand her again, Ashley raised her hand and delivered a hot slap across his face. The room went deathly silent. Mouths hung open as the rest of the Montclair family stared at Ashley in utter shock. No one had seen that coming. Not even Caleb himself. To the outside world, he was known as the

“Are you sure you really want to end this, son?” Victor’s calm voice broke through the tension as his eyes landed on the divorce papers lying on the floor. “Oh that’s enough, Victor! What exactly are you trying to imply? Hasn’t Caleb suffered enough already? He and Vanessa were always meant to be together. If it weren’t for this useless bitch, they would’ve been married by now with children of their own.” Caroline spat, her face twisting into disdain. “Mother is right, father. Big brother should be with someone of his own class, not this worthless scum. Ever since he got married to her, my friends have started avoiding me. Even Jessy won’t talk to me anymore.” Beatrice added with a frown, her voice dripping with hatred. “Beatrice is right, Caleb, you deserve to be with someone of your own class. Not some poor nobody. She’s nothing but a stain to our family’s name. A disgusting vermin that needs to be rid of. Throw her out of the house now!” Juliana, Caleb’s aunt joined in with a di
