Chapter five

Xavier's POV 

“Wait for me", Alaric said behind me, but I cared less. The only thing I cared about at the moment was taking care of the chaos that was going on at the pack gates. "Calm down, you're walking too fast”, he said again and I almost hissed. "I have issues to settle”, I slammed and walked down the stairs as fast as I could. 

As soon as I got to the pack gates, my head banged. Lots of people were standing at the pack gates screaming and shouting at the top of their voices. 

‘We can't live like this!!" 

“Save us!!" 

“We need safety!!" 

“The Alpha is not doing the right thing!!!" 

“Justice for the pack members!!" 

“What is going on here?" I screamed and the noise died down. “What is all of this about?" I said again and turned to one of the pack securities standing beside me.

“I…..I… can't…. I don't….”, he stammered 

“Talk to me !!!"I slammed and he flinched. “What…is….going ….on…here?”I asked and checked my fists. 

" They just barged in all of a sudden Alpha. I don't know why they are here or what they want”, he answered with his head bowed.

" This is what I have been talking about Xavier… you need to do more as the Alpha of this pack”, Alaric said behind me and I squeezed my brows trying to understand what he just said. 

" And what do you mean by that", I asked calmly with a frown. 

“Exactly what you think I mean", he replied and I smiled. “Fix it!!", he slammed and matched back into the pack grounds. I clenched my fists as I watched him leave the pack gate. " What the hell is wrong with him?”I muttered and faced the crowd. 

" What do you want me to do for you?", I asked and moved closer to them. 

“We want our safety to be guaranteed", one of them said and I immediately figured out he led them here judging by his tone and body language. “We need an Alpha that will be able to save us whenever we are attacked", he added and I smirked. 

“What do you mean by that?"I asked again and what I heard became a great shock for me. 

“We need an Alpha that will not see an enemy as his long dead wife!!!!", he slammed and my chest tightened.  

“Ahhh”, I groaned loudly and held my head tightly as a heavy headache hit my head. “Ahhhh”, I screamed again when the pain hit harder. 

“Alpha…..are you fine?”, the soldier beside me asked and I groaned. “I need to leave now…… Take care of the chaos here”, I muttered and staggered back into the pack grounds. 

“Uhmm”, I moaned again as the pain hit harder than earlier. I held the wall beside me tightly and I blacked out. 

Vesper’s POV 

“Why did I react that way to him?”, I thought as I sat down on the edge of my bed with my elbow on my thighs. “I hate it when I do not have answers to questions”, I groaned and stood up abruptly. I walked towards the door and opened it. 

“Your highness”, the rogue at the door bowed immediately I opened the door. “Get me Fepris”, I said and closed the door as fast as I opened it. I paced my room severely with my finger in my mouth. “Arrghhh”, I groaned when it felt like I had been waiting for Fepris for a long time. 

Knock! Knock! Knock! 

“Come in”, I said and sat down on the chair beside me. 

“Your highness..”, he bowed. “You sent for me," he said and I sighed. 

“Have your seat”, I replied and pointed at the chair in front of me. “I want to ask you some questions and I want you to tell me the truth”, I muttered. 

“Okay, your highness…. You have my word”, he nodded and I smiled slightly. 

“What happened on the day we attacked the Lunaris pack?”I asked and his expression changed. “Say something”, I said when he had been silent for about ten seconds after asking the questions. 

“Uhmm….”, he started and I moved my chair closer to him. “What I noticed was a great wind throwing you on the ground and you couldn’t stand up and then a man that I guess will be the Alpha of the Lunaris pack because of his clothing came closer to you and was about to strike you with his sword”, he narrated and I nodded sharply. 

“So….what happened”, I asked impatiently and he swallowed into nothing. 

“He suddenly stopped and hugged you tight”, he dropped the bomb and I sprang up. 

“What do you mean by he hugged me? What did I do after he did that?”I rushed my questions. 

“You lost consciousness.. Your highness”, he replied. 

“Arrghhhh…..”, I groaned as my head spinned. I held my head as tight as I could as the memories from the day flooded my mind. Starting from the screams I heard from the wolves of the Lunaris pack, to the smile on my face, to the wind that slammed me on the floor and then to the man that called me his Luna when he could have killed me for attacking his pack without any definite reason. 

“Haaaa”, I screamed again as the voice I heard from him on that day sounded the same as the voice of the man in my dreams. “Who is this man?”, I thought with my hands still clamped around my head. 

“Your highness.. What is going on”, Fepris said beside me and from the way his voice sounded, I could sense that he was scared. “Queen…… what is going on”, he screamed again and held my arm. 

“I…..am……I am fine”, I replied with difficulty as the light ray from the moon slipped in through the window and landed on the moon crescent tattoo on my wrist. Immediately that happened, pain flooded my system and my blood became hot. 

My fangs and claws extended and fur covered my knees and elbows. “Ahhh….hmmmm”, I screamed again because the pain was becoming unbearable for me. Despite the pains, I saw myself in an attire that looked like the one the strange man wore when he hugged me. 

“My Luna…. You mean the world to me”, I heard his voice beside me and I was about to turn, my eyes opened. 

“Ahhhhh”, Fepris screamed and his eyes closed voluntarily. He lost consciousness
