chapter thirteen

“Come to the office Elena”

Elena heard me Jem said when she picked up.

“Good, I was hoping to speak with you also”

She dropped the call and rushed to her desk to grab her bag.

Stepping outside the office, she was hit by the hot air the sun was emitting, so she used her hand as a shade for her face and squint her eyes so she could see.

She saw a cab approaching and quickly waved the cab.

“Lingdon Street, number twenty”

She told the taxi man who nodded and Elena got in.

Looking out the window she thought of how she would put the matter to Mr Jem so as to persuade him, but she felt confident that he will believe her after all he has known her the longest in that work place in fact she wouldn’t have been there if Mr Jem hadn’t recruited her.

Elena remember all those years ago when she lost her father, Mr Jem had helped paid for her tuition and he recruited her into his company right after she graduated from College, he had been lenient with her all these years, after she lost her D
