Another beep sounded in the quiet room.
“Sir, we have checked the details. The orphanage still stands, but the people we interacted with for the background check are nowhere to be found. The new people have vouched that there was never an orphan named either Steven or Amelia.” The man reported calmly.
“What else?” Kieth knew that the subordinate had more to report.
“The company, ma’am worked at. The company is still there, but her entire team has disappeared. The company does not have the details of any employee named Amelia.” The subordinate waited for an outburst, but nothing happened.
“Say. What is it?” Kieth gritted his teeth in anger as he spoke.
“Her past was fabricated intricately. There were no loopholes.” The man spoke slowly. He was a hacker, but even he could not find any physical or digital traces.
“Find her, no matter what.” Kieth hoarsely said and cut the call.
He looked around his room. There were no pictures, no hair, or anything that could prove her existence. It’s like her presence was an illusion. As if she never existed. A bad premonition gnawed his heart.
Another beep woke him up from his pain.
“Sir, the phone’s details have nothing suspicious. She never contacted anybody through that phone. The last message was sent through a private number, which is no longer in existence. The person who owned that number died five years ago.” The man shared his findings.
“Bunch of good for nothing! Have you taken your pay for granted? Find her!” Kieth could not help but roar into the phone! He could not believe it! She was just an ordinary human being! How could she pull off such a move?
They cannot find any traces. There were no digital activities. Even the surveillance footage was tampered with! It looked like she vanished into thin air! His heart was howling in pain.
He wanted to scream. But against all odds, Kieth started laughing. He laughed like a maniac! He laughed till his eyes had a pool of mist in them.
He would find her! He was going to find her at all costs!
…..
In a deep forest, Amelia walked fearlessly. With her was Steven, the supposedly half dead brother, and a pair of man and woman.
“What’s the situation?” Amelia asked in her mind.
“The outer defenses have been broken. The intruders are moving in. They have surrounded us from all directions.” She received the response through the mind link.
“Divide the warrior team into three. Send them to east, west, and north. Launch an attack as soon as the intruders appear.” Amelia narrowed her eyes and responded calmly.
“Send the cubs, disabled, and weaklings to the archer spots. Ask them to survey the area and report the situation to the warriors.” Steven added through the mind link.
They collectively closed the channel.
“We will take the south. Let’s launch an attack from the outside.” Steven proposed without batting an eye.
“Brother,” Amelia had a mischievous smirk on her face, “have I ever needed help?”
As soon as she spoke, she let Zenia take over her senses. She transformed into a beautiful, unblemished, giant white wolf. She was twice the size of an adult human male. Her blue eyes complemented her white fur.
She looked pure and innocent, meek and harmless. But those who knew her, known that it was all a façade. Behind her beauty, was a vicisous beast, who only knew how to hunt and conquer.
Sensing her intention, the pair and Steven changed into their wolf forms as well. Only Steven was as big in stature her her. But his fur was not smooth and he looked feeble in front of the majestic white wolf that ran swiftly.
They followed her in their wolf forms but Zenia, the white wolf, was too fast. She disappeared within a flash from their field of vision. Only a fresh minty scent remained, reminding them of her presence.
Steven cursed in his mind. They did not know how many intruders were there, could Zenia take all of them on her own? He ran as fast as possible, but the remaining poison in his blood had slowed his senses.
Zenia ran like wind. She picked up foreign scent and thoughtlessly ran forward. She was angry. Angry at her mate’s betrayal. And she needed to vent. These intruders were a god sent opportunity. How could she let it go?
She bared her teeth as soon as he found the group of intruders. There were almost a dozen but nobody was as big as her. She fervently jumped on them and started biting them one by one.
The intruders were attacked suddenly. Zenia did not give them any chance to react. She tore their flesh, bit their veins, and clawed their vitals. Her attacks were precise and ruthless. She solved the group of intruders within a couple of minutes.
She was so fast, that she did not let them howl to inform others. By the time, Steven and his party found the shredded remains of the intruders, Zenia was nowhere in sight.
Zenia, with blood on her snout, was not satisfied. The intruders were too weak. They did not allow her to vent at all. So, to continue her one sided slaughter, she went east.
There, her eyes glinted with excitement as soon as she found the scent she was looking for. The group of intruders. They were moving stealthily. They did not know that their cover was already blown. Their movement was spotted by the alert patrollers who informed the authorities timely.
Stealthily, the group of intruders walked forward, they were planning to attack during the night. They knew that both of their Alphas were not in the pack. It was a golden opportunity for them!
Silver Crescent pack was rich, and the area they occupied was a gold mine! Every pack envied them and wanted to attack them, to occupy their land. But who knew that their pack had two Alphas? The son and daughter of the previous Alpha were both Alphas!
And what’s worst was that both of them were ruthless in their attacks!
They only dared to attack when both the alphas were not in the pack. Dreaming of the riches they could enjoy, their mouth started salivating.
There were rumors that one of the packs had managed to injure Steven, the male Alpha. But they did not know, that it was the female Alpha that was to be feared!
As soon as they remembered the female Alpha, Zenia appeared in front of them.
She was here to turn their dreams into nightmares!
Before Amelia could register anything, Kieth broke free from her grip and bent down in pain. Guttural groans croaked out of his throat. He bit his lips hard to stop the scream threatening to break free.Sweat covered his forehead. Sickly pallor colored his face and all the blood rushed to his eyes, making them blood red. His legs buckled and his hands trembled.Amelia saw it with panic, pain, and anxiety. She too, followed his footsteps and kneeled, reholding his hands in a tighter grip. The moment she touched his hands, the unbearable pain assaulted her senses. It was Kieth’s pain. Thanks to Mate Mark, she could share his pain. Everything was happening very fast. She did not have time to think. It was her instinctive reaction.Moments before, she was dissatisfied with the forced Mate Mark, but now, she thanked her stars! She quickly held him tightly and shared his agony. Kieth’s legs trembled and he kneeled on the ground, making it easier for
Under the moonless night, the silence and darkness covered them from head to toe. Amelia waited and waited but received no response from the other side.It wasn’t exactly easy for her either. She wasn’t one to drag things. She wanted a clean cut instead of this mess of a relationship.“Amelia, did you get me wrong? Do you think you can leave me twice, and I will watch it happen?” Kieth’s slow and rough voice hit Amelia unhurriedly. Her eyes started twitching. She could feel that something was wrong. Kieth had begun leaking his Alpha pressure. Was it intentional or not she didn’t know.Kieth started taking leisurely steps toward her. His eyes never left her, even for a second. She unwittingly took a step back, wanting to create some distance between them. But much to her disappointment, the Alpha pressure increased and made her halt. She looked at Kieth in alarm and surprise. This Alpha pressure…it was like a rope around her waist, with its ot
‘On a vacation. Don’t bother me. Switch to Plan B.’ Under it was his powerful and flawless signature. Steven pursed his lips as he took the paper. He didn’t know who leaked this information! Even Amelia didn’t know that he planned to look into Kieth’s background once again! There were three main points worth investigating. First, how did Kieth end up in the human realm? Second, what exactly was the training Kieth had to undergo in order to become the heir of the Williams’ Empire and third, what happened to his engagement?“What’s Plan B?” Steven couldn’t hide his curiosity.“Details on how to run the company and who will manage what if I am not there.” Kieth lowered his eyes and focused on the Art of Duel.“But why would you prepare something like that in advance?” Steven put the paper inside an envelope as he asked.“My doctor once told me that I couldn’t live past this month. So, Plan B was a contingency plan.” Kieth turned th
What? Was that even possible? Steven did not know how to react! All his admiration and hope had turned to shock! He had seen people struggling to change into a wolf, but he had never seen a wolf struggling to change into a human! This was unforeseen!‘Um, Amelia, we have a minor situation here.’ Steven haphazardly mind linked Amelia.Damn! As Amelia heard his distress call, she felt annoyed. She still has not figured out what to do with Kieth. She walked to the training grounds and saw a black wolf and a surprised Steven at a glance.“He cannot change back!” Steven pointed to the black wolf and could not mask his astonishment.Amelia stopped in her tracks and mechanically looked at the black wolf, who stood there at a loss. She could not hide her smile at the situation.Unlike the stoic and expressionless Kieth, this black wolf was more vivid. She could see the annoyance, irritation, frustration, an
Amelia’s smile disappeared while Kieth became shocked at his sudden words.“We can’t.”“Forget it.”Both Amelia and Keith spoke at the same time, making them stunned again.Meanwhile, the cub yawned and released a satisfied purr, successfully disturbing the awkward silence between his parents.Amelia quickly took the cub from his arms and busied herself in putting him in the cradle.Kieth felt aggrieved. He knew what he spoke was just in the spur of a moment. He also knew that it was the most unromantic confession, but that didn’t mean that Amelia’s sudden denial didn’t hurt him!‘Why?’ Unable to take his mind off the straight rejection, Kieth asked Amelia through the mind link. The sudden voice in her head made Amelia stop for a second and then she resumed covering the cub with the blanket.‘Because I am an Alpha, the rituals are complicated. Also, one can only get married on a full moon night. It’s almost a fortnight a
Shit! He knew everything! No wonder he was so calm! Because he had already understood the situation from listening to the thoughts of everyone.Thinking back at their collective mind link and unbridled words, Amelia felt dazed. No wonder he claimed that he had his own way of knowing the truth! Damn!“Still acting dumb? Don’t have anything to share?” Kieth tried his best to remain calm, but his eyes had already betrayed him.Alarm bells started going off in Amelia’s head. Her survival instinct kicked in.“No. I don’t have anything to tell!” Amelia hurriedly spoke. An icy layer coated Kieth’s eyes. Amelia could feel the Alpha pressure leaking from him. Before he could burst or snap, she quickly held his hand and smiled brightly.Taken aback, Kieth froze for a moment. Her bright smile was blinding. How long had it been since he saw her genuine smile? She expertly grabbed his attention and when he looked dazed, Amelia took th
