Megan's POV
The afternoon passed in a blur, and I couldn't wait to see Ashton. What happened during lunch was incredible, minus Claire. I could still feel the lingering kisses of my fiance that made me smile the entire afternoon while I was touching my lips from time to time. I love having him around, and most of all, it feels so lovely to feel his love for me.
"So, what are you doing with all these flowers, Meg?" Alice asked when she got inside my office and found me inhaling the red roses.
"Well, they are still fresh, and I don't think they will wither right away, but I need to bring half of these flowers at home. I am sure my mom will freak out when she sees me carrying those bouquets." I responded, and she laughed.
"That sounds a good plan, Meg." She said, beaming at me.
Alice bid her goodbye to me, and she told me she would be having a date with her boyfriend. I was looking at my watch, and it was getting late, but Ashton hadn't called me yet; I wanted to call him, but I was hesitant because I could tell he was also busy today. I was standing near my office window, and I smiled as I looked down and saw the bustle and hustle of the metropolis when I heard my trunkline ring.
"Hello, this is Megan; how may I help you?" I answered.
"Hello, Megan, this is Leslie, Ashton's secretary." The woman on the other line said.
"Hi, Leslie," I replied, feeling a little nervous if something was going on again.
"I know you are waiting for your fiance, but something caught him up, and he is in the middle of the meeting. He told me ahead of time to call you if ever the meeting will drag on, and I know there is nothing he wanted to do right now but be with you." Leslie said.
"Of course, I understand, Les; thank you so much," I responded, and I couldn't stop myself from feeling sad after I said goodbye to Leslie. I got up and picked up my car keys, and walked out of my office with a heavy heart. I know my parents already picked up our son from school earlier today, and all I wanted was to have dinner with Ashton together with our son and my parents.
"Meg, I am sorry that something came up, don't worry; I will make it up to you later tonight." Ashton sent me a quick text with heart emojis that made me feel so hot all over my body, and his message was enough to make me feel happy; I am looking forward to seeing him tonight and spending time with him, and our son became my stress reliever.
"I will be waiting for you, my love." I texted back, and I went home thinking positive that Ashton would come home to me tonight. As I pulled over on my driveway, I could feel the loud beating of my heart when I saw men with black suits standing in front of the porch, and I felt nervous about what was going on. I climbed out of the car, and I wondered where my parents were, who these people were, and what they were doing here in my house.
I was carrying some of the bouquets, and when I took the front steps, the main door opened, and I was so shocked to find Gael looking at me with sadness all over his face.
"Megan," he mumbled as he walked closer to me, and I could tell right away Gael had been drinking liquor because he reeked of alcohol.
"Gael," I said since I didn't know what to do with him, and I knew he wasn't sober, and he would never listen to me when he was in this state.
"Flowers, huh? That is so sweet of Ashton, but he doesn't deserve your love, Megan. How could you say yes to his proposal? I feel betrayed, Meg. You are so ungrateful, I helped you, and I did everything for you; I even gave up my fiancee because I couldn't stop myself from falling in love with you." He declared, and I knew he was not that drunk because he could still speak clearly.
"Gael, I never asked you to do that for me, and that is not true, you know I am so grateful for all the things you provide for me, and I am thankful for all the help I received from you. But I did my best to compose all those songs for you." I responded.
"Your career blossomed, and your record sales skyrocketed when you started going solo and singing my music. And it was all because of me." I said, and I didn't tell him things like this before because I know we both benefited from each other, and I hate to have this kind of conversation with him, but I felt so hurt that he accused me of being ungrateful.
Gael took the flowers from my hands and threw them on the floor; and I was so shocked when he trampled the flowers, and I looked at him with pain in my heart. I didn't want to see him like this, but I couldn't love him.
"You still owe everything to me, Megan, and that bastard doesn't deserve your love. You are only mine." He said as he moved closer to me, and I took a back step until my back hit the wall.
"Gael, please, don't do this, I love Ashton, and there is nothing you can do to stop me from loving him," I said.
"Oh yeah! Who says that, Meg?" He asked with a smirk, and then he held my wrist with a force that made me cringe.
"Gael, what are you doing? Please, don't do this." I begged, but it felt like a demon-possessed him that he won't listen to my pleading. And I tried to pull my arm away from him, but he dragged me with him, and I could hear the squeaking of my shoes as he made me come with him. My arms hurt, and I screamed when he picked me up and carried me to his car.
"Please, Gael, put me down." I was shouting until I could feel my throat dry, and he continued to carry me, I struggled as I tried to punch him and kick my legs, but Gael was stronger than I was. His muscled frame pinned me to his car after he put my feet back on the ground, and the next thing I know, Gael was kissing me, and there was no way I could fight him since he secured my wrists, and it looked like I was kissing him back the way he pulled me with him.
When I ceased struggling, he stopped kissing me, and he loosened his grip on my hand.
"Meg, I am so sorry, I.." I didn't let him finish his sentence as I gave him a loud slap. I was shivering with anger, and I couldn't believe he would do something like this to me.
"Leave!" I shouted at him as I tried to hold back my tears. I felt so frustrated with Gael. He used to be my rock and confidante, but I could no longer see the Gael I love as a friend.
"I don't want to see you anymore, Gael. I hate you, and I hate you much." I was yelling at him, and I could no longer keep my tears from falling.
He backed away as if my tears brought him back to the present, and Gael is looking at me now with tenderness.
"Meg, I am sorry; I don't know what I have done, you know I love you, and I will never hurt you." He said while I could see the worries on his face.
"I wanted us to remain friends, but what you have done is something I couldn't tolerate anymore," I said as I looked at him in the eyes.
I felt thankful my parents and son were not around, and I wondered where they could be at this hour. I haven't seen my other car, which my dad used every time they picked up Axel at his school.
"Please, don't make me call the police, Gael; I want you to leave now from my property," I said.
.
"Are you sure about that, Megan?" He asked.
"I have never been so sure in my entire life Gael, and I am more confident when I left Astikoz years ago. And I don't want to see you anymore. Let us forget that we know each other." I said as I could feel the coldness in my voice.
"Then I don't have a choice but to ruin your relationship with Ashton, and I will never let you marry him. If I couldn't have you, then no one can," he said as he left, turned around, and got inside the passenger's seat of his car; I realized his driver was inside his vehicle, and I couldn't believe his men didn't stop Gael from using force on me, and I felt so glad he didn't force me to ride inside his car.
I was still standing on the ground when my father pulled over the driveway, and I could still feel my limbs are shaking, and I couldn't believe what had just happened.
"Hey, Mom!" Axel yelled as he ran towards me after he came down from the car, and when he hugged my waist, I pulled him closer to me, and I knew I was drawing strength from my son since I felt so weak, and I smiled as looked at him, and I tried to hide how I truly feel.
"Are you okay, honey?" My mom asked after I took Axel into his room, and I joined her in the kitchen.
"No, mom, Gael came, and he almost hurt me," I said.
"Oh, Megan, I am so sorry, we should come home earlier, but your father brought Axel to the mall and bought him new shoes." My mom responded as she moved closer to me, and when she took me into her loving arms, I let go, and I cried my heart out as I released the pain and the fear I felt.
Megan's POV"You looked so beautiful, Megan!" Alice exclaimed as she helped me with my veil."Thank you, Alice, I know you will be more beautiful than I am today on your wedding day," I responded."Ha! Don't make me laugh, Megan, you knew that is not true, you looked like a goddess while I am just an ordinary woman you can see walking on the street on an ordinary day." She responded and I shook my head."Stop that, you are beautiful, okay?" I insisted and she beamed at me before she hugged me."I am so happy for you, my best friend, so glad that the heavens favored you. You are marrying Ashton for the second time and your son is your ring bearer, and your family is complete." She declared."Yeah, I know, and I am so happy," I responded."We should get out of the car before your husband will come," Alice said and I laughed. She helped me with my gown as I got out of the bridal car, and I inhaled the fresh air, the day looked so bright and I could tell it is the best day of the year to
Megan's POV"What are you doing here?" Dexter asked right away after he opened the door of his place."Dex, aren't you happy to see us?" I asked my brother, and I could see the guilt on his face."I am busy now, Meg, Ashton, why didn't you call me?" He asked."It is something important and I hope you can spare us a little of your time," Ashton responded, and my brother sighed as he turned his back and opened the door wider so we could get inside."Have a seat," my brother said as he motioned us to sit on the sofa. His place was immaculate, and I could see that my brother was anxious like me."What do you want?" He asked as he sat in front of us."Well, I wished to invite you and be my best man since we are having our church wedding in less than a month." My husband replied, and my brother's face fell."I am sorry, but let us face it, if you will invite me, I will be bringing Monica with me. She is part of my life now, she is my fiancee, and it would be an insult on her part if I will
Megan's POV"No, that is not a good idea, Ashton," I said after I heard my husband speak about making my brother his best man for our upcoming church wedding."Why not? I want him to be present during our special day, Megan; I know it would make you happy. I knew what your heart desires, my love." He responded."Thank you for considering my feelings, Ashton, but my happiness will not matter anymore; I don't want Isabelle to be miserable on our wedding day," I responded, and he looked at me for a long time before he spoke."Megan, I don't think it will make my sister miserable; she will be happy to see your brother," he declared."Belle will be broken-hearted, Ashton, Dexter has a girlfriend now, and I hate him for turning his back on your sister." I responded with a sad expression on my face."Hey, we both know they are in love with each other, I am sure Dexter got tired of waiting, and it doesn't mean he didn't love my sister anymore." He insisted, and I raised my hands; I didn't wan
Ashton's POVMaking love with my wife would always make me feel excited and complete, and I couldn't explain the happiness I felt as I watched her sleeping peacefully in my arms after the hottest lovemaking we had ever shared. My wife turned me on like crazy, and I found it hard to stop my erection; the way she teased me blew my mind. Megan became bolder in bed, and I loved it, and I knew she only wished to please me.I was watching my wife's face with a beautiful smile on my face.I loved the feeling that I made her exhausted in bed. I knew we planned to have a night alone in the tree house, but something came up, but tomorrow night, it would be only for us, and I didn't want to stop surprising Megan.I wished to make her happy through simple things, and I knew my dad's offer was hard to decline. Marrying my wife for the second time would be the most especially gift we could give her, and I am excited since it was my father's plan.My dad and mom would be there standing beside me on
Megan's POVI know happiness was a gift from God, and after I gave Ashton's dad my forgiveness, I felt different. I didn't hate him, but I wanted to make Gregory accept me for what I am and as his son's wife.I couldn't deny there were moments in my life I wished I belonged to Ashton's world, but I realized I should be proud of who I am and what I have become."You looked so happy now, did your talk with my dad go well?" Isabelle asked when I saw her in the living room after speaking with my father-in-law."Thank God, Isabelle. Axel and I are officially part of your family," I answered with a broad grin."Of course, Megan, you were already part of our family after you gave birth to our nephew, and when you became our brother's wife, we became happier." She replied."Belle, you can't blame me for worrying because you know your father didn't accept me as your brother's wife. But right now, I was so overwhelmed with happiness that finally, your dad welcomed me as Ashton's wife." I declar
Ashton's POV"Can I have a word with you?" My dad asked me, and I nodded my head. We had been fishing for more than three hours, yet the boys were still having fun, especially my little boy.Axel had been shouting every time Lennon pulled out his fishing hook since he was the one who had been blessed to capture much fish. I was unlucky today; maybe the fishes on the lake felt the anxiousness that I felt in my heart.I was still apprehensive about my father's change of heart, and I couldn't stop myself from wondering if he was true to his words. My dad already fooled us once when he acted; he was so eager to meet and be with my wife, only to find out the truth later that he had another thing on his mind, and that was to humiliate my wife in front of everyone during the party he threw for us.He couldn't blame me if I doubted his intention at the moment. He looked so calm as he sat on the rock while I stood beside him, watching my grandpa Henry, Axel, and my brothers on the bank, waitin
