Ashton's POV

I could feel the heaviness of my head when I woke up the following morning, and I touched my chest right away. I couldn't believe what had happened last night. I could still feel the pain, and it felt like someone stabbed my heart because of the excruciating pain I felt. Isabelle dragged me last night to make me get inside my room, and once again, she was the only person who was there to witness the suffering that I felt.

I don't want to get up from my bed yet because I have a severe headache, but I know my father will never allow me to bail on him because he wanted me to accompany him to his early breakfast with my ex's father. And I am sure it will only make me feel worse.

When I opened my eyes, I saw my sister sitting on the sofa, and I smiled that she was already wearing her business suit and was ready to go to her office.

"What are you doing here, Isabelle?" I asked, and she stood up and walked towards my bed; and she sat at the edge of my king-size bed, and I couldn't stop myself from feeling so lost and in pain.

"I brought you a glass of water and medicine for your headache, and I know you will be having a hangover; how could you drink the scotch without a glass and ice?" She asked, and I almost forgot what I had done last night.

"Really?" I asked, and she gave me a beautiful smile.

"Yes, and I felt so worried about you last night, and I wanted to remind you, don't ever make a decision that will make you suffer in the end. You need to think it over, Ashton. And I think Megan deserves to explain her side. There would always be two sides of every story, and it would be so wrong if you will make a decision based on pictures and showbiz news alone." Isabelle declared.

"You are a celebrity, Ashton, and you know there is so much fake news circulating in the industry; and I hope you won't forget, you have a son who needs you, and I don't want your child to hate you when he grows up the way you loathe our father." She added, and I was speechless as I looked at her; and she motioned me to stand up as she handed me the glass of water and medicine.

"You better drink this now, Ashton, so you will think straight." She said, and I almost laughed at her words.

"I was only hurting, and I had a hangover, Belle; I didn't lose my mind," I answered.

"You need to take a bath now; dad is already waiting for you in the living room," she stated.

"I don't want to go, Belle. You know what will happen, and I am sure Claire will be there." I said as I got up from the bed.

"Just deal with them, Ashton, and leave quickly after breakfast." My sister replied.

"Thank you, Belle, for always taking good care of me," I said, and she smiled at me.

"Of course, you know I will always be here for you, Ashton, and please, don't give up, Megan and Axel." She said, and I wanted to tell my sister there was no way I would give them up, but I felt so scared if Megan would tell me the truth that she was only playing with my heart.

"Belle, you know how much I love her, but what if she doesn't really love me? I don't think I can take it, Belle, I only love Megan my entire life, and she is my world now, and I don't know how to live my life without her." I responded.

"I will help you, even Lennon and Cole called me this morning, and they said they would be coming over, and even our mother texted me to tell you to fight for Megan; she couldn't wait to see her grandson, and they will be all here to give you the support you needed, and all you have to do is survive today with Claire's dad, and everything will be alright," Isabelle said. I smiled at my sister, and I told her my thanks again before I got inside the bathroom, and I realized I hadn't changed my clothes from last night.

I took a cold shower, and I wanted to stay in the shower longer, but my sister already reminded me that our father was already waiting for me in the living room. When I got out of the bathroom, my sister was no longer inside my room, and I smiled when I found my clothes on top of the bed; I couldn't believe she would choose my new business suit given to me by Megan, and it became my favorite and I close my eyes as I think of her beautiful face and how I wish to be with her today.

"Good morning, son, nice suit," my father said the moment I met him, and he was broadly smiling at me. And I admit I felt thankful that he is now back to his old healthy self, and it seemed like he didn't get sick at all, and I know my dad got the best specialists in the country.

"Good morning, dad!" I greeted him back, and I tried my best to smile at him.

"Are you ready?" He asked, and I nodded my head, and together we walked out of my house towards my car, and I couldn't stop thinking about Megan and our son as I drove away from my home.

"Ashton!" Claire exclaimed as she got up from her seat and ran toward me, and I was surprised by her actions, and I wanted to push her away, but I didn't want my father to make a show, and I hugged her back awkwardly.

"Thank you for coming, Ashton; you make me so happy today!" Claire exclaimed as she pulled me closer to her, and she was looking up at me while she batted her eyes.

"Ashton, it is nice to see you again, son, after a long time, and I think we should celebrate," Claire's father said as I neared the table.

"It is nice to meet you too, Rustico," I responded as I shook his hand.

My father and Rustico talked and laughed as we ate our breakfast, while I could see my ex out of the corner of my eye staring at me the entire time. I felt her hand on my thigh under the table, and I quickly held her hand and put it on her side. I wanted to run away and leave them, but I didn't want to be rude, and it felt like forever before my father said goodbye to them, and I made sure Claire would never get close to me again until we left the parking lot.

"What is wrong with you, Ashton? How could you avoid Claire like that? It would be best if you were nice to her, son," my father said as I was driving my car and we were on the highway going back to my house.

"Dad, I don't want to give Claire the wrong signal. If I am nice to her, I know she will assume I wanted us to be together." I replied.

"Well, there is nothing wrong with that, Rustico and I would be so happy if you would get back together, and that would be the greatest news I will ever hear this year. I don't want you to get involved with that woman again, Ashton. I am warning you," my father declared, and I was gripping the steering wheel tightly as I controlled myself not to speak with him about Megan. And I didn't answer him, and I remained silent the entire ride.

"I want you to get married to Claire, and you need to give me a grandchild as soon as possible," he added before he got out of the car, and I climbed out hastily and ran after him.

"Dad, you need to listen to me; I will never marry Claire, and I already have a son, and I want you to meet him," I said when I caught up with him, and my father stopped in his tracks, and he turned to his side so he would be facing me, and I could see the disappointment on his face.

"There is no way I will acknowledge that boy, Ashton, and no matter what happens, I will never make him the future heir of my company," he said, and I could feel the anger in his voice.

"Dad, please, I am begging you. I want you to give me a chance to bring Axel to you; all I ask of you is one day, and it would be enough. Spend time with Axel and me, and if your heart of stone will not melt, I promise, I will never force you to accept him as your grandson." I declared.

"That is enough, Ashton; you need to stop your craziness." My dad snapped at me, and he was looking at me with anger on his face, but I didn't avoid his gaze, and I stared at him, and I embraced and welcomed his rage.

"That would be unfair to my child if you judge him because his mother came from a poor family," I added, and I couldn't read the expression on my father's face.

"Okay, if that is what you want, bring your son to me this coming Saturday together with his mother." He said. I was speechless, I couldn't believe my father would say something like that, and I felt so happy, but my happiness was cut short as I realized I needed to speak with Megan.

I wished she would talk to me, but I couldn't come to her house as of now because Isabelle was right. I need to think about us, and I will not go there yet unless I am ready to face the truth and brave enough to accept that Megan is no longer in love with me, and we need to talk for our son's future even if it will break my heart to see her and knowing she is no longer mine pierced my heart:
