Megan's POV

I could see the excitement on Axel's face as we made our way to the swimming pool. He was holding my right hand while his other hand was gripping his dad's palm, and I couldn't believe until now that I had gotten married to Ashton. He is now my husband, and every time he glanced at me, I couldn't stop having butterflies in my stomach, and it felt like I was eighteen years old once again.

I could see my husband's love for me by the way he looked at me, and as we accompanied our son to the swimming pool, I realized there was no other place I wanted to be right now but to be with Ashton and Axel, surrounded by our families.

Axel jumped on the water right away while his father followed him, and they were both enjoying the water, and it made me want to join my husband and son, but I wanted to speak with Isabelle, and I found her lying on one of the chaise loungers, and when I sat on the lounger next to her; she opened her eyes and looked at me with a weak smile on her beautiful face.

"Hi, Isabelle," I said.

"Hello, Meg, and now we are officially sisters, and I am so happy today," she responded; I knew she was so happy for Ashton and me, but beneath her beautiful smile, I could tell she was trying to hide her real emotion. I wanted to help her and Dexter, and now that I am Ashton's wife, I felt more excited to help them.

"Are you okay?" I asked, and I could see the surprised looked on her face, and she gave me a beautiful smile.

"What made you think I am not happy, Megan?" She asked.

"I know I am not in the position to tell you this, Isabelle, and I don't want to pry, but I love my brother, and I love you too because you are not only Ashton's sister, but you are Axel's aunt, and I know how much you love my son, you love him in the same way my brother loves Axel," I replied, and I could see how her face saddened.

"Have you talked with Dexter?" I asked, and she shook her head.

"I think there is nothing to talk about between us, Megan. Do you know it was hard for me to be here, but you were right? I came here because of how much I love my brother and Axel, and I care about you too, and knowing Dexter is your brother, I had second thoughts, but my love for my family prevailed." Isabelle responded.

"I chose to meet the man who broke my heart more than a decade ago just to attend your union because I love happy endings, Megan." She added.

"You can have your happy ending too, Isabelle, and I want to tell you my brother is a man of few words, but I know he was in love with you, and he is still in love with you until now, and I just want to let you know, Dexter didn't betray you, Isabelle," I replied. I could see the shock on her face.

"I can't tell you the reasons because I promised him, but you have all the right to know that he never loved anyone except you, and he didn't get any girlfriend because he said he only wanted you, and I think it is about time you give yourselves a break and find your happiness, and if you still love my brother, please, give him a chance, Isabelle," I added. She was speechless for a long time, and I could see the tears that welled up in her eyes.

"He told you he is still in love with me?" She asked in disbelief, and I nodded my head.

"Yeah, and I could see how much he suffered when you got engaged, and when the announcement of your wedding was made to the public, I couldn't imagine the pain he had undergone, and when the cancellation of your engagement was all over the news, I could tell he celebrated your freedom since Ava called me, and told me Dexter gave her a new phone," I answered, and Isabelle was smiling at me now. I hoped everything would be okay between my brother and Ashton's sister.

"He was avoiding me, Megan, and do you think he still feels the same way?" she asked, and I nodded my head.

Isabelle left me, and I joined Ashton and Axel on the water. I felt so happy to swim with the two important people in my life, and I was laughing so hard when we played a game in the water. The laughter of my son and husband warmed my heart, and I didn't want the day to end, and I realized one week vacation would never be enough for me to enjoy my honeymoon with my husband, but I realized we had all the time now to enjoy our life every day together with our son.

We took a bath after swimming, and I told my husband I would be looking for grandpa Henry while he took good care of Axel. I felt so happy I found him sitting on one of the cottages, and I am impressed that grandpa put some huts on the beachfront, even if this is a private resort.

"Megan, my dear, welcome to the family; I am so happy that you have finally become my grandson's wife, and we need to celebrate your union, and I want you to enjoy your honeymoon, my dear," grandpa Henry said by the time we got time to speak with each other.

"Thank you, grandpa, and I am so happy to become Ashton's wife and be part of your family," I responded.

"You put a smile on Ashton's face, and I never see him this happy, Megan; and thank you for making him complete, and having you and Axel is one of the beautiful things that ever happened to our family, and I couldn't wait to have my great-grandson on our room, and her great-grandma was excited, and I wish you can grant her request, my dear," he said, and I smiled widely at him.

"Don't worry, grandpa, I know Axel will be excited to sleep with you and grandma Sarah," I said, and I could ask my son to sleep with them and tell his aunt Ava he could sleep with her when we got back in Megalopre.

"Okay, that would be great, my dear, you can go back to your husband now, and I am sure he will be looking for you; and thank you for coming and finding time to speak with me, and I apologize that we weren't able to attend your wedding ceremony, I wanted to make sure everything is okay here in the resort." He declared, and I beamed at him.

"It was okay, grandpa Henry, I wanted to see you right away the moment we arrived here, but I couldn't find you," I said.

"I love staying here in any of the cottages and watching the pounding of the waves on the shore, and the sound of the waves always lulled me to sleep, and that is why I mostly stay here because this is my favorite among all my properties." He proudly said, and he was right; I love this amazing place; the serenity of the site takes all my worries away.

"And I just want you to know, Meg, I will give this place to Axel, and being the eldest great-grandson of our family, gives him the right to own this beautiful paradise, and I want your son to have this place where he can spend his childhood until he creates his own family." He added, and I became speechless as I looked at Ashton's grandfather, unable to believe his words.

"Wow, thank you, grandpa Henry; I don't know what to say; that would be an honor," I responded, and I don't know if I said the right words.

"You just don't know how happy I was when I learned Ashton got a son, and when I met Axel, I couldn't express the gratification I felt; thank you for bringing him up nicely, Megan, you are a good mom, and even if Ashton wasn't there with you when you gave birth to Axel, you still gave him the right to claim Axel as his son, and for that, I am so grateful to you." He declared, and I could feel my face blushing.

"Grandpa, I love Ashton, and even if I was broken-hearted when he abandoned me, I still plan on telling my son who his father is because he has the right to know the truth at the right time," I responded.

"Of course, my dear," he replied, and I sat with him for a long time until Ashton came and got me; we excused ourselves, and I wondered where my husband would take me, and I realized he wanted to have a walk on the seashore while waiting for dinner. Ashton held my hand, and we were walking barefoot on the sand.

I was in awe as I watched the beautiful sunset on the horizon and the combinations of red, orange, and purple hues made the sky color, and it felt so right to walk with my husband as we listened to the pounding of the waves.

"Are you happy, my love?" Ashton asked, and I could feel the knots on my chest when he suddenly stopped walking and pulled me closer to him. Ashton was embracing me tightly, and I could tell he was inhaling my scent while I was enjoying myself as I inhaled his masculine scent that always drives me nuts.

"I am so happy, Ashton, and I couldn't express the happiness I felt in my heart in words; thank you for making me feel this way," I responded.

"I am glad you are happy, all I ever wanted is to make you smile every day, Megan, and I know married life would never be an easy ride, but being married to you is my greatest dream, and no matter how bumpy the road could be, I am sure we can surpass whatever trials that come our way because of our love for each other." He replied.

And Ashton captured my mouth with urgency, and we kissed for a long time until I heard my sister calling us that the dinner was ready. I could feel the swelling of my lips after my husband released my mouth with a wide grin on his face, and I felt like I was in seventh heaven as I could feel the happiness that enveloped my heart, and I felt so happy and proud being married to Ashton.
