Ashton's POV
I could see the pain on my wife's face when Gael asked me to tell my wife about my father's condition before I can take totally take over the company. I had almost forgotten about it because it had been so long since he told us about it, and God knows I didn't marry Megan because of that weird condition from our dad.
I tried to get closer to her, but she raised her hand to stop me. I begged her to listen to my explanation, but she ran away.
I attacked Gael, and we fought each other until I could feel the strong hands of my brother while some of my dad's guests came to help so that we would stop kicking and throwing punches at each other.
I could feel the taste of blood in my mouth while my face felt sore, and I could feel the swell on my legs; this was the second time we had fought each other because of Megan.
I spit blood, and I could tell he almost broke my nose, but I felt delighted that I did the same damage to Gael's handsome face, and I knew tomorrow we would be on the news headline.
"Why do you need to be my dad's puppet? You should accept that Megan will never love you. Are you happy now that you made my wife feel miserable?" I asked.
"I felt terrible that I made Megan cry, Ashton, but I felt triumphant at the same time that, at last, she will be free from your lies and fake love." The singer responded with a wide grin on his face, and his words made me want to beat him until he could no longer walk.
"How dare you, Gael, you knew that is not true!" I yelled at him, and he laughed.
"That is enough, Ashton!" My father shouted, and I looked at him with anger and frustration combined.
"You have no right to order me to stop, and I don't care if you will fire me being the CEO of your company, dad; I am done," I responded, and I could see the shock on his face.
"You are really hopeless, Ashton; I did everything I could so you could have the company, yet you are throwing all the opportunities that I am giving you for that woman." He said sternly.
"The woman you were referring to is my wife; I vowed to protect and love her for better or worse, for richer or poorer!" I responded.
"That stupid vow will make you suffer, Ashton!" He yelled.
My brothers let go of me, and I walked closer to my father and didn't take my gaze away from him.
"No, dad, staying as your obedient son will make me a miserable person for the rest of my life; believe me, I have been there; I followed your order, and I was the one who suffered and not you," I said, and his eyes widened as he stared back at me.
"I quit as one of your employees, and I don't care if I will lose my inheritance; I can provide for my wife and son. I will show you that we can live happily without your company." I added.
"I am tired of your manipulation, dad; for once, I thought I finally won you over, and you become our real father to your children, but I was wrong; I made a terrible mistake for believing in you. You will never change; you will forever be the heartless dad we knew." I continued.
"Watch your mouth, young man, and you will never become what you are if not for me. Don't forget you are popular wherever you go because I am your father. You can't deny it, Ashton; you had been enjoying the privilege of using my family name." My father shouted at me.
My dad almost hit me with his fists, and if Lennon and Cole didn't get in our way, I think I would have already beaten him on his gut, and he struggled to get away from my brother's hold.
"Gregory, please stop!" My mom shouted, and she was crying, and that was the only time we stopped, and I could see my father's face soften as he looked at my mom with tenderness.
"I am tired of this; if you continue hurting our children, I will walk away from this place you called home because this is not a home if we can't welcome our children ." My mom said as she held my hand, and my father turned mute as he looked at my mother with a shocked expression on his face.
"Lenore," my father mumbled, and I know he never expected my mom will speak out about what was on her mind.
"Son, you better come with me," my mother said as she turned her attention to me.
"Mom, I need to go after Megan," I replied, and she smiled at me.
"Of course, Ashton, you must go now." She responded, and without taking a second glance, I left and ran towards the parking lot while I could hear Zachary and Alice were calling me.
"Ashton, stop!" Zach yelled, and I slowed down my facing, waiting for them to catch up with me.
"Why didn't you go after her, Alice?" I asked my wife's best friend.
"I was more worried about you, Ashton; I don't want you to add another burden to Megan. Even if she was angry with you, I know she doesn't want you to hurt anyone or to get hurt by Gael." Alice answered.
"I need to go after her," I said, and Zach shook his head.
"I don't think that is a good idea, buddy, I am sure she is boiling with anger right now, and Megan doesn't want to see you at this moment." My best friend responded.
"What do you want me to do, Zach? I don't want to lose Megan again." I said, feeling so defeated.
"I know, Ashton, I will go after your wife, and you should go with Alice to my place. I am sure she won't come with you, and she will get angrier if she sees you." He responded.
"I will take Megan at my place," he added.
"Are you sure you can do that, Zachary?" I asked, and he shook his head, and my face fell.
"You know Megan and her hardheadedness, but I will do my best to convince her to come with me." He replied, and I let out a heavy sigh.
"You should listen to your best friend, Ashton, I knew Megan's attitude more than you do, and Zach has a point," Alice added, and I fell silent.
I was fidgeting as I waited for my best friend to come
back. It felt like forever before he came back, and I ran towards his car before he could even pull over in front of our house, and I didn't need to turn around to know Alice was behind me in an instant.
"I am sorry, Ashton, Megan doesn't want to see you," Zachary said, and my mouth hung open, and I was lost for words.
"It wasn't your fault, Zach; I should have told Megan about my father's stupid condition before she learned about it from other people. I didn't mind since I married my wife because I couldn't live without her." I declared.
"I needed to go to her parent's house," I said.
"You can stay here for the night, Ashton; you better meet her tomorrow when she is less angry with you; if you insist on coming to her house, I could tell it would be a disaster," Alice responded.
"Alice, I can't wait for tomorrow; what if she will be gone tomorrow with our son?" I asked, and she laughed.
"I know Megan will never hurt Axel; she is willing to suffer just to make your son happy. You know your son looked up to you, and for sure, he will be looking for you, and your kid is your ticket to your wife's forgiveness." Alice said, and I couldn't argue with her since she was right.
"Alice, please, help me; I need to see my wife," I begged, and she looked at me, and then Megan's best friend turned her head and looked at Zachary. I am sure they were talking in silence, and they were communicating through their gazes.
"If you wanted to see your wife and don't want her to drive you away, you better make a plan that will work." She replied, and I became so confused.
"What do you mean?" I asked, and she laughed.
"I want you to stay with Megan and Axel since I knew you weren't lying, Ashton. I could feel your sincerity, and I know you married Megan out of love." Alice replied.
Even if I felt so lost, I smiled a little after knowing my wife's best friend believed in me; I know Alice had a big influence on Megan's life, and her opinion would always matter to my wife.
"What should I do, Alice?" I asked.
"The only thing you can do is to borrow Zachary's motorcycle, and you need to pretend you were drunk; by the time you arrive at her house." She said, and I didn't let her finish since I felt so excited about Alice's idea.
"Thank you so much, Alice," I responded.
"You can thank me later after you bring back your wife and daughter. Go! Win her back!" Alice stated with excitement all over her face.
I texted Megan's dad since I knew he was the only person in her family who could help me so I could have my wife back.
I did what Alice had told me, and I called Megan's name without caring about their sleeping neighbors, and I smiled when I saw she switched on the lights in her room on the second floor while I strode towards the main door.
I tightly hugged my wife after she opened the door, and she struggled to get away from my embrace, but there was no way I would let my wife go without letting her know how much I love her.
I felt so glad that at least my wife calmed down, and she let me caress her head as I apologized. I am unsure if she will forgive me immediately, but I felt thankful that I wasn't late as I realized my wife was still in the city.
I don't care if she shouts at me; I will let her release her anger toward me and what is important is I have my beautiful wife in my arms.
Megan's POV"You looked so beautiful, Megan!" Alice exclaimed as she helped me with my veil."Thank you, Alice, I know you will be more beautiful than I am today on your wedding day," I responded."Ha! Don't make me laugh, Megan, you knew that is not true, you looked like a goddess while I am just an ordinary woman you can see walking on the street on an ordinary day." She responded and I shook my head."Stop that, you are beautiful, okay?" I insisted and she beamed at me before she hugged me."I am so happy for you, my best friend, so glad that the heavens favored you. You are marrying Ashton for the second time and your son is your ring bearer, and your family is complete." She declared."Yeah, I know, and I am so happy," I responded."We should get out of the car before your husband will come," Alice said and I laughed. She helped me with my gown as I got out of the bridal car, and I inhaled the fresh air, the day looked so bright and I could tell it is the best day of the year to
Megan's POV"What are you doing here?" Dexter asked right away after he opened the door of his place."Dex, aren't you happy to see us?" I asked my brother, and I could see the guilt on his face."I am busy now, Meg, Ashton, why didn't you call me?" He asked."It is something important and I hope you can spare us a little of your time," Ashton responded, and my brother sighed as he turned his back and opened the door wider so we could get inside."Have a seat," my brother said as he motioned us to sit on the sofa. His place was immaculate, and I could see that my brother was anxious like me."What do you want?" He asked as he sat in front of us."Well, I wished to invite you and be my best man since we are having our church wedding in less than a month." My husband replied, and my brother's face fell."I am sorry, but let us face it, if you will invite me, I will be bringing Monica with me. She is part of my life now, she is my fiancee, and it would be an insult on her part if I will
Megan's POV"No, that is not a good idea, Ashton," I said after I heard my husband speak about making my brother his best man for our upcoming church wedding."Why not? I want him to be present during our special day, Megan; I know it would make you happy. I knew what your heart desires, my love." He responded."Thank you for considering my feelings, Ashton, but my happiness will not matter anymore; I don't want Isabelle to be miserable on our wedding day," I responded, and he looked at me for a long time before he spoke."Megan, I don't think it will make my sister miserable; she will be happy to see your brother," he declared."Belle will be broken-hearted, Ashton, Dexter has a girlfriend now, and I hate him for turning his back on your sister." I responded with a sad expression on my face."Hey, we both know they are in love with each other, I am sure Dexter got tired of waiting, and it doesn't mean he didn't love my sister anymore." He insisted, and I raised my hands; I didn't wan
Ashton's POVMaking love with my wife would always make me feel excited and complete, and I couldn't explain the happiness I felt as I watched her sleeping peacefully in my arms after the hottest lovemaking we had ever shared. My wife turned me on like crazy, and I found it hard to stop my erection; the way she teased me blew my mind. Megan became bolder in bed, and I loved it, and I knew she only wished to please me.I was watching my wife's face with a beautiful smile on my face.I loved the feeling that I made her exhausted in bed. I knew we planned to have a night alone in the tree house, but something came up, but tomorrow night, it would be only for us, and I didn't want to stop surprising Megan.I wished to make her happy through simple things, and I knew my dad's offer was hard to decline. Marrying my wife for the second time would be the most especially gift we could give her, and I am excited since it was my father's plan.My dad and mom would be there standing beside me on
Megan's POVI know happiness was a gift from God, and after I gave Ashton's dad my forgiveness, I felt different. I didn't hate him, but I wanted to make Gregory accept me for what I am and as his son's wife.I couldn't deny there were moments in my life I wished I belonged to Ashton's world, but I realized I should be proud of who I am and what I have become."You looked so happy now, did your talk with my dad go well?" Isabelle asked when I saw her in the living room after speaking with my father-in-law."Thank God, Isabelle. Axel and I are officially part of your family," I answered with a broad grin."Of course, Megan, you were already part of our family after you gave birth to our nephew, and when you became our brother's wife, we became happier." She replied."Belle, you can't blame me for worrying because you know your father didn't accept me as your brother's wife. But right now, I was so overwhelmed with happiness that finally, your dad welcomed me as Ashton's wife." I declar
Ashton's POV"Can I have a word with you?" My dad asked me, and I nodded my head. We had been fishing for more than three hours, yet the boys were still having fun, especially my little boy.Axel had been shouting every time Lennon pulled out his fishing hook since he was the one who had been blessed to capture much fish. I was unlucky today; maybe the fishes on the lake felt the anxiousness that I felt in my heart.I was still apprehensive about my father's change of heart, and I couldn't stop myself from wondering if he was true to his words. My dad already fooled us once when he acted; he was so eager to meet and be with my wife, only to find out the truth later that he had another thing on his mind, and that was to humiliate my wife in front of everyone during the party he threw for us.He couldn't blame me if I doubted his intention at the moment. He looked so calm as he sat on the rock while I stood beside him, watching my grandpa Henry, Axel, and my brothers on the bank, waitin
