Megan's POV

"Dad!" Axel shouted as his dad threw him into the lake, and our son giggled. I was sitting on the big rock near the bank, taking pictures of my son and husband with a wide grin on my face.

I felt happy, and I wished to savor this moment I had with them since I knew by the time we went back to Majuscule city; we would have a busy week, and we seldom have time to unwind, but I realized one thing, I needed to allocate time for my family.

"Mom, what are you doing? Join us here!" Our son called me, and I waved my hand at him as I focused the camera on them.

The sun is hiding in the clouds, which I prefer since I didn't want Axel to have a sunburn later. My husband looked so hot as he played with our son, and I couldn't believe this hunk was mine.

"Hey, would you mind if I joined you?" I heard Isabelle's soft voice, and I smiled as I turned my head at her.

"No, I won't mind," I responded.

"I could stay here and shut off the world," she mumbled, and I turned my gaze at her.

"Me too, this place is heaven," I replied, and I wished to add it would be wonderful to stay at the tree house with the person you love, but I didn't want to remind Belle of her heartache.

"Are you really not going back to Majuscule?" I asked, and she nodded her head.

"Yeah, that is my plan," she softly replied.

"Can I say something?" I asked, and she let out a heavy sigh before she answered yes.

"I think you should fight for Dex, Belle," I said.

"No, it is late for that, Megan; I don't think I can do it; it would only be a waste of time. I had been hurting ever since I fell in love with your brother because of what my father did, and I don't think this time I can take it; I couldn't accept that Dexter already found someone new that easily." She declared and laughed.

"I mean, he had been single for a long time, but I couldn't believe after we met again, the next thing I knew, he got a fiancee; it pained me to my core that I didn't even want to see his face." She replied, and I knew I had to respect her decision.

Axel asked his aunt to join him in the water, and Isabelle happily dove into the crystal water, and I saw my husband get out of the lake and walk in my direction.

"How about you, Mrs. Pritzgold? You should stop taking pictures and join us in the water." My husband declared.

"Not yet; I still want to take some pictures of the lake; I wanted to capture the reflection of the sky on the water," I responded.

"I don't think it is happening soon, my love; it is cloudy today," he replied as he looked at the sky.

I put my phone on top of the rock, and before I could even stand up, I felt Ashton's strong hands on my waist, and I giggled as my husband carried me before he jumped into the lake.

My scream died on my lips as we fell into the lake, and when I raised my head out of the water, I could hear my son's laughter as he shouted one more, and he was asking his father and me to jump again since he enjoyed watching the splash we created.

"No, I want to dip her and enjoy the coldness of the water," I replied, and he asked his dad if he could jump, and my husband looked at me. My husband didn't need to speak for me to know he was asking permission from me, and I smiled at my husband as I nodded my head.

We only stopped swimming when I saw my son's mouth was quivering, and I hastily got up and got the bath towel, Ashton carried him to the bank, and I wrapped the towel around our son, and we retired to the tree house except for Isabelle.

I dried Axel's body with the towel and dressed him up quickly. He asked for food, and I felt glad Isabelle came after us and brought us snacks. Axel ate fried chicken, and then after drinking water, he hugged me by the waist as we sat on the bed, and before I knew it, he was already sleeping on my lap.

I was smiling as I caressed my son's hair, and I couldn't stop kissing his cheeks, and being a mother gives me a kind of completeness I couldn't explain, and how I wished his twin sister was alive.

When I raised my head, I found Ashton watching us with a contented look on his face, and I tried to smile at him as I thought our little girl was in heaven and she was watching over us.

"He must be so tired," my husband declared.

"Yeah, I can stay with him; you better go back to the lake and be with your sister," I replied.

"Okay," he said and climbed down off the tree house.

I could hear Isabelle's laughter, and I am thankful my husband could make her smile even if she were in too much pain. I was wondering if there was something I could do for her and my brother, but they already gave up on each other; maybe they were not meant to be together.

It felt sad since I knew how much they loved and adored each other.

It was almost sundown when Ashton drove us back to grandpa Henry's mansion, and our kid was still sleeping peacefully, and I was listening to Ashton as he talked with Isabelle about her plans.

"Well, whatever you want, I will support you; maybe running grandpa's estate would suit you, Belle," Ashton said.

"Yeah, that is my initial plan, and I hope he would not mind," Belle replied.

"He won't; do you remember when we were still teenagers? We complained to him about our father?" My husband asked.

"Of course, grandpa would always tell us that we are welcome anytime in his home, and he kept reminding us this is our second home, and I guess it is about time you should stay here and enjoy the peacefulness of this town." Ashton declared.

"Our father grew up here, and I wondered why he chose to reside at Astikoz hills when he could have the Pritzgold family ancestral home since he was the only heir," Ashton added, and I agreed with him.

"Oh no!" I heard Isabelle say and gasped; when I raised my head, I saw Clark's helicopter at the helipad at the back part of grandpa Henry's mansion; since we came from the lake, we could see the back part of his magnificent house.

"I couldn't believe he would come," Ashton mumbled as I saw his hands gripping the steering wheel.

"I received a text from Cole and Lennon, and they arrived while we were in the lake. They didn't come with mom and dad, and they traveled using Lennon's sports car, which means our dad is now pissed with all of us." Belle said.

"I think we should go back to the lake," Belle added.

"No, I think he was here for me; I gave my resignation letter to the head guard and instructed him to give it to our father. I guess he already received it, and now he is here to show me he is still the boss," Ashton said, and I could no longer feel his worries, only his anger.

"It is about time to show him that we don't need his money," he added.

"Yeah, I just hope he didn't do anything that will harm any of us," Belle responded, and her seriousness made her voice tremble.

"I am not sure about that; you know him, Belle; he would use his power just to prove a point," Ashton said as he pulled over to the garage.

"Can you take Megan and Axel to the secret passage?" Ashton asked.

"Why do you want me to take a secret passage, my love?" I asked, and Ashton looked at me with a weak smile on his face.

"I don't want you to see how wicked our father could be, Megan," he replied, and I shook my head.

"We can take the secret passage together, but I will not hide from him. We secure Axel into your room and face your dad together." I responded.

"I just want to remind you I am now your wife, Ashton, and it was all because of me that you are in this situation. If you only married someone from

the elite society, you could have a perfect life." I added, and his face softened.

"I'd rather live in a chaotic world with you than in a peaceful place without you. I know there is nothing perfect in this world, but having you in my life is perfection, and whenever I am with you, it will always be heaven by your side, Meg." He responded.

"If we were in another circumstance, I could have clapped my hands, big brother. I didn't know you became a poet by marrying Megan." Isabelle declared, and Ashton chuckled, and I could feel the tension lessen.

"I could tell Megan was right, we should get inside the house together by taking the secret passage, and we will join them later after putting Axel into bed," Isabelle said.

I smiled when my husband nodded his head; even if I felt horrified about what will happen next, I was glad my husband didn't insist I should hide away from his dad. I want to make sure to be there for Ashton and his siblings. I felt less worried as I realized grandpa Henry would protect his grandchildren from their father.

My husband replied, and my brother's face fell."I am sorry, but let us face it, if you will invite me, I will be bringing Monica with me. We had been fishing for more than three hours, yet the boys were still having fun, especially my little boy.Axel had been shouting every time Lennon pulled out his fishing hook since he was the one who had been blessed to capture much fish. I was unlucky today; maybe the fishes on the lake felt the anxiousness that I felt in my heart.I was still apprehensive about my father's change of heart, and I couldn't stop myself from wondering if he was true to his words. My dad already fooled us once when he acted; he was so eager to meet and be with my wife, only to find out the truth later that he had another thing on his mind, and that was to humiliate my wife in front of everyone during the party he threw for us.He couldn't blame me if I doubted his intention at the moment. He looked so calm as he sat on the rock while I stood beside him, watching my grandpa Henry, Axel, and my brothers on the bank, waitin
