Megan's POV

It was past lunchtime when we reached grandpa Henry's estate, and we were both starving, but the banquet they prepared for us made my mouth water. The grilled fish looked so delicious, and the seafood platter was fabulous.

"Thank you so much for the food, grandpa; it seemed like we were having a feast." My husband said, and his grandfather looked at him with tenderness; I couldn't stop smiling as I looked at my son on his grandpa's lap. He is old enough to sit on grandpa Henry's lap, but his grandpa doesn't care.

Ashton couldn't stop taking pictures of them since they looked so adorable together, and I could see how much grandpa Henry adored our child.

"Grandpa, can I stay here forever?" Axel asked, and his grandpa's face lit up.

"Of course, as long as you want, but I don't think you can do that, buddy; you needed to go to school." Grandpa Henry responded as he ruffled Axel's hair.

"Besides, your mom and dad needed to work, and I am sure you won't stay here unless you are with them, am I right?" He asked.

"Well, maybe mom and dad would let me stay here the entire summer," our son responded, and then he turned and looked at his dad and me with puppy eyes.

"Maybe next year, son," my husband responded, and Axel's smile broadened as he got up and sat on the chair between his granddad and grandma.

"How about me? Can I stay here as long as I want?"

Ashton's sister asked, and all heads were on her.

I could see how her grandfather's face softened and how I wished Clark would treat his children the way his father did, and I felt so sad for Isabelle.

Ashton's grandma asked Axel to come with her when she realized we would discuss his only son.

"Why, my dear? Don't you like city life anymore? How about your work?" Grandpa asked, and I could see her misery.

"Well, Ashton is not the only one who could quit a job, me too; I tendered my irrevocable resignation last night," Belle answered while I could see the shock on grandpa's face.

"Oh, my children, your father needed both of you; I could tell this is all about what happened at the party last Saturday." He declared as he looked at me.

"I apologize on behalf of our son, Megan; I knew what he did was out of bounce; he knew you were Ashton's wife, yet Clark showed to everyone that he favored Claire over you through his actions." He added.

"I didn't understand why he had to invite her when he threw that party for the two of you." Grandpa continued as he turned his attention to me. I felt glad Axel went with his great-grandma.

Even if Clark didn't treat me well, I didn't want my son to hate his grandfather, and I was hoping one day he would accept my son wholeheartedly, even if he couldn't acknowledge me as his daughter-in-law.

"Don't worry, I will speak with Clark; he can't do this to all his children. Especially to you, my dear, since you are now married to Ashton; you are Clark's daughter now, and you belong to our family." He added as he smiled at me.

"I am afraid it is too late now, grandpa, dad was pissed last night, and Cole almost hit him," Isabelle replied, and I could see grandpa's face saddened.

"Why?" He asked.

"My brother told him the truth that he is dating a man and not a woman. He wanted to get out of his closet and show everyone that he is so proud that he is gay, and dad lost it," Belle replied.

"Dad grabbed him on the neck, and then he punched Cole in the gut; mom almost had a heart attack," Isabelle added, and Ashton's face turned crimson with anger.

"He can't hit Cole because he is gay. How could he be so insensitive? Our brother had been hiding his secret for years, for father's sake." My husband declared.

"Yeah, I know Cole's secrets, he confided to me, I know it would not be easy to be a father, and I wished I could help Clark understand that he needed to bend some rules." Grandpa Henry said.

"Why didn't you call me Belle?" My husband asked.

"I don't want you to be angrier with dad, Ashton, you already turned your back on him as his son, and I don't think it would help. Lennon was there, and I was thankful he was stronger than them." Belle replied.

"I really need to talk with Clark, and his family is tearing apart. I knew this was going to happen one day because of the way he controlled all of you, and I wondered why he became like this when I had given him everything." Grandpa declared as he released a heavy sigh, and I could see the frustration on his face.

"You better continue to eat your lunch, today must be a happy day, and you young lady, we have a lot to talk about; I could tell you came all the way here not to have fun but to escape." Grandpa Henry said as he looked at his granddaughter with too much affection.

"You know I will always be here to guide you, I may be old, but I could tell you are brokenhearted my dear," he added, and Belle weakly smiled back at his grandpa.

"I couldn't believe dad hit Cole; he is too much," my husband said when we were alone in his room. I knew his grandfather assigned a room for his grandchildren.

"Me too; it was sad, Cole needed his understanding, and your father is making it more difficult for him to come out of his shell," I responded.

"Yeah, well, at least he is now free to do what he wants with his life; he doesn't need to protect dad's reputation anymore. Our father didn't care about how he felt, and he had been keeping that secret for so long." Ashton stated.

"Yeah, but Cole is fortunate since he got you, his siblings were supportive of him, and it made his burden light. I could tell he was a happy person because he got you guys," I replied as I walked closer to him.

"Of course, we love our youngest, and Cole will always be our little brother even if he is now a grown man, and I am happy that he got the courage to face his greatest fear, and that is telling our father what he really is; and I am so proud of him," Ashton responded as he took my hand and he let me sit on his lap again, and it will always be my favorite.

"I think it is time to take our son to the lake; I want Axel to enjoy his childhood as much as he can because I don't want him to have regrets," he said as he put some strands of my hair behind my ear.

"I know he will enjoy his childhood since he got you as his dad; you are loving, sweet, and cool, dad," I said, and he smiled at me.

"How about you? What kind of husband am I to you?" He asked, and I couldn't stop smiling at him mischievously.

"Well, you are the hottest and the most loving husband a woman could ever ask for; thank you for loving me unconditionally, Ashton," I responded.

"I know our married life will be filled with ups and downs, and it would never be a smooth sailing ride, but I know at the end of the day, I will always be a happy wife knowing you. I can always count on you, and you will always be there for me, my love." I responded, and he beamed at me.

"Of course, Megan, I am always willing to do anything for you and our son, and I am sorry that I am now jobless." He replied, and I shook my head.

"I don't care if you are jobless at the moment; we will be okay; I still believe that you will become the CEO of your own company. Don't rush things, and you can stay in our house and enjoy your time being jobless for one month. I can provide for you and Axel," I declared.

"No, that is not happening, I should treat you like a queen," he replied, and I giggled.

"I will always be your queen, my love," I replied with a broad smile on my face.

"I think we needed to make a princess; I don't want Axel to be lonely," he said, and my face turned crimson.

"What do you think, Meg?" He asked, and I could feel his lips on my ear.

I arched my back as he started giving me butterfly kisses on my neck, and I smiled as I thought of having another baby. The idea of having another child with Ashton makes me so excited that I can't stop moaning when I feel him pulling down the sleeves of my dress while he is kissing me hungrily.

He cupped my breasts with gentleness as he continued to devour my mouth, and I suddenly stood up when I heard Axel's voice behind the door, and my husband hastily got up and helped me with my dress right before the door opened up.

"We should not forget to lock the door," he whispered before he turned and grinned at our son, who was already wearing his rashguard.

"Aunt Isabelle said you will take me to the lake, but why aren't you dressed yet in your swimming attire, guys?" He asked as he looked at his dad and then at me.

"Sorry, buddy, your mom and I talked about something important, but we will be ready in less than ten minutes," my husband responded.

"Okay, I will be waiting for you downstairs," Axel responded, and we both smiled at our son before he turned around and got out of the door.

"Later, my love," he mumbled as he handed me my swimsuit. I couldn't stop giggling ad I watched him undress in front of me, and I couldn't stop myself from admiring my husband's physique with anticipation that we would be sharing another happy memories together with our son. I realized I needed to stop thinking about Clark, and enjoy my time with my family.

I was unlucky today; maybe the fishes on the lake felt the anxiousness that I felt in my heart.I was still apprehensive about my father's change of heart, and I couldn't stop myself from wondering if he was true to his words. My dad already fooled us once when he acted; he was so eager to meet and be with my wife, only to find out the truth later that he had another thing on his mind, and that was to humiliate my wife in front of everyone during the party he threw for us.He couldn't blame me if I doubted his intention at the moment.
