ELLA'S POV

I was almost totally fine now, and Damian played the biggest role in making that possible.

He gave me the safe space I desperately wanted. I couldn't help but wonder if the things Sylvia said about him were true. He seemed overly protective of me to be an abuser.

I couldn't forget how he dashed out the previous day after finding out Jason was the one who kept on calling and making me lose my fitting for the door.

He had asked who kept on calling every day that I feared and dared not pick up.

After searching, he decided it was Jason.

“Jason?” he asked in disgust. “What does he want from you?” he now sounded irritated.

“I don't know,” I replied with teary eyes.

I honestly didn't know what he wanted from me anymore. Why would he let me heal a little only to open up my wounds like he was torturing me purposefully?

He tapped his feet uncontrollably for minutes, getting up. He stared at me for a moment with empathy and then stormed out the door.
