Chapter 15: Who is Ariana?

Damien's POV

After reviewing the contract Michael had drafted and was satisfied, I asked Michael to take it to Ariana to sign. I completed the work I was doing and called Michael to report to my study. 

"Here, communicate this to all the leaders of the various cities. As for the meeting, I will confirm the date tomorrow," I said, handing a document to Michael.

"Yes, Alpha," Michael replied, taking the document from my hand.

I noticed the side of his long-sleeved shirt was torn. I frowned. 

"Are you not well paid?" I asked, and read the surprised look on his face.

"I am," Michael replied, his surprise evident in his voice.

"Why is your sleeve torn?" I asked, relaxing in my seat.

Michael checked both sides of his sleeves before replying to my question, looking stupid.

"I am sorry, Alpha," he replied, but it quickly dawned on me, he was shifting but stopped.

"What happened?" I asked, staring at him.

"Er, Alpha. Is the human girl. She refused to sign the contract," Michael said.

"Is that why you wanted to shift?" I asked, and I read the surprise look in Michael's eyes.

"She also insulted you," Michael said.

"I see," I said calmly, but I was also surprised I was hearing what a human did and wasn't angry. "I will handle her. Go do what I ask you to do," I said and dismissed Michael.

You want to see her again? Kai asked, his voice very teasing.

"I am only going there to make some ground rules," I said and put a few things in order on my table so I could leave for Ariana's room.

That is what you say, but I see you are even more in a hurry to see her than I am. Kai teased 

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever, shut up," I said and exited my office.

Yes, I wanted to see her. I wanted to confirm the strange feeling I had when she was in my presence. As soon as I got to the staircase, I met Michael. We walked towards Ariana's room while he gave me feedback on what I had asked him to do. I unlocked Ariana's door with my card, and we both entered. I frowned seeing Ariana standing on the toilet seat with her head out the window. From the way she was bent, the drapery dress she was wearing exposed the shape of her behind. I swallowed hard, staring at it. Something was happening inside me, just staring at her, and I knew I needed to get her to move before whatever was happening took over and I did the unthinkable. 

"And what do you think you are doing there?" I asked, and she jumped out of her skin.

She got down from the toilet seat and replied to me, saying she was looking out the window. I quickly dismissed Michael, and it was just me and her now.

Yes, I had a strong desire for her. I didn't understand my attraction towards her, but I have never felt like this before. A strong attraction towards a woman. All my life, it's women who have thrown themselves at me. I would never have even looked Victoria's way if not for the mate bond. What I don't understand is why this strong attraction towards a species I hate.

I sat down to prevent myself from walking up to her. I know what I will do if I hold her in my arms. There will be no stopping me. Everything about her body looks very tempting. I tried to keep my interruption short. I was already in her room. For some reason, I was not bothered that she didn't sign the contract. She told me what she wanted, and I just granted it without giving it much thought. I needed to get out of the place. My desires were now no the surface, and with Kai behaving like a dog on heat, I knew I was just 3 seconds away from grabbing this girl. 

I stood up, made my last statement walking towards the door. She stopped me with a concern. I immediately told her, Miriam would handled it without bothering to look at her. I exited the room and realised I was sweating. I took of my jacket and hanged it over my arms to cover the small bulge in front of my trousers.

"Alpha, are you alright?" I heard Michael ask as soon as I took a step.

"I am fine. Have someone check the heaters in that room," I said to Michael and entered my room, which was directly opposite Ariana's room. 

I knew Michael was confused about my request because I wasn't clear on which room I was referring to. I just needed something to dismiss him, and I didn't want it to be obvious. He will put two and two together and figure out what is happening. 

I asked Miriam to put Ariana in that room so I can monitor her but now I am questioning my decision, because of what is happening. I don't want to get entangled with a human. Not in that way. 

I shut that door in Michael's face. And dropped my jacket on my bed. I walked straight into the bathroom. I kicked my shoes off my feet and entered the shower side with my clothes and socks on. I turned on the shower and put it at cold. 

Why are you punishing yourself, when we can just have her? I want her too. Kai said.

"Kai, in case you have forgotten. She is human and I am a werewolf," I said, my voice sounding weird.

Yeah, a human that is carrying your pups. Kai said. 

"What are you trying to say?" I asked, hearing Kai's statement.

No human can get pregnant by a werewolf. It's the simple logic of the Universe. A dog can't get a cat pregnant, nor can a sheep get a goat pregnant. Do you want me to go on? Kai asked.

"Are you by this saying, she is a wolf who can't shift?" I asked, knowing my wolf can see beyond what I can.

I don't know. I see nothing that shows she is a werewolf without a wolf, but I know there is something strange about her. She doesn't seem like a pure human to me. Damien, no human can get pregnant by a werewolf. Kai said, and that set me thinking.

Who is Ariana? I thought while taking my wet clothes off.
