Suddenly, Alex found himself in a dark room. He felt trapped because he had no clue where he was, how he got there, or where to head towards to leave the darkness. They arrived at the school's grounds early, where they only met a few kids.They entered their classroom but saw only a few people. Charlotte was not there at that time. Alex finally outperformed Charlotte in Mathematics for the first time , including all subjects, making him the class' top student for while Charlotte finished in second place for the third time in Alex's three school terms. Charlotte had been the one getting the first position, before Alex's admission into the school. He and Charlotte had gotten along and became friends, after the incident happened. They occasionally talk on WhatsApp about random topics, to Alex's surprise, because he never imagined their relationship would develop to such a degree.A few days after Alex celebrated his eighteenth birthday, he was eating on the dining table with his parents."In two days, we will be leaving for a vacation." His father abruptly announced. Alex was not sure who the statement was intended for. Alex was awakened by constant knocks on his bedroom door."I'm awake already." he cried, annoyed that he was woken up, when he slept just some hours ago.
