“Yes, she is my wife. The one that I’m talking about. And we already have a two-year-old son,” David answered on behalf of Mariane.

Mariane got speechless as she was stunned by what David had just said.

‘What the hell is he talking about? Didn’t he hear himself? Wife? As far as I remembered… We are done.’ Mariane thought.

Mariane glared at David sideways, before she turned her gaze at Zach and smiled. “Will you excuse us for a second? I need to talk to him, first.” Mariane excused.

Zach nodded. “Oh, sure.”

Mariane immediately stood up and held David’s wrist to pull him out of the office. Mariane led the way until they reached the emergency exit. She let go of David’s hand and hissed exasperatedly.

“What is wrong with you?! What are you talking about earlier?! Why do you have to tell him about our private lives?” Mariane exclaimed.
