The wedding

Chapter Three

The wedding was elaborate the way they wanted, but none of my friends came.

Even my friends in college were not present. After I shared the news of the wedding to them, they made it clear to me they won't be attending, not because they do not have the chance but because of what had transpired between Nathan and I.

I never questioned them because I was not happy with the wedding either.

Nathan's father gave us one of his houses to live in, to avoid living with the family. We started our new life there, but for the first day, we didn't talk to each other. I was in the living room and Nathan's father called.

"Hello, Good Morning" I said after picking up.

"How are you doing my darling?"

"I am fine and you, thank you for everything you do"

"You are welcome, you know you are my daughter not my son husband, you are now my daughter, well I want to ask where you had like to go for honeymoon"

The phone was on loudspeaker, so Nathan heard our conversation.

Immediately his father asked where we would like to go for the honeymoon, he said "Tell him no, no" He said in a lower tone to avoid him hearing his voice.

"We appreciate, but the house is enough for us to chill, this is enough, my husband and I haven't even stepped out, the breeze here is so cool"

"Alright, no problem darling, when you need anything, don't hesitate to let me know"

"Alright, thank you"

He hung up.

Nathan hissed and continued pressing his phone.

I went to the kitchen to prepare noodles and eat without leaving anything.

I went to the living room only to see the video that caused me depression years back played on the screen TV.

"Can you stop this Nathan, you still have this? The nuisance you have caused isn't enough yet? What do you want? What exactly do you have? I trusted you, I loved you, you played my feelings, you secretly made a record while having sex with you, you shared it on the school platform, I almost got depressed if not for my friends, and you still kept the video till now?" I yelled.

He laughed.

"I didn't blame you, I blame myself for coming over here again, if I had known this is what I was called for, I would have turned my phone off and live peacefully"

"So you think you can run away from this? You think you can run away from your past? You have been acting innocently in the presence of your parents and in the presence of the students, I just made it clear to them that''

"I never think you are this stupid, I never knew this is all what you have in mind to do, I thought you were a reasonable man, you remember you deflowered me...."

"Shut up, well I have nothing to say to you, what I know is this marriage is not going to work" He interrupted me.

I smiled, "Do you think I have interest in it? Do you think I would like to stay with this unreasonable man? Please do whatever you can do in your capacity for us to go on our separate ways, I do not want it to work"

"I wonder why my dad can't comprehend a simple thing, how can he think you are a good match to me? How can he even think that you deserve this handsome guy, well, I am coming back for you, let me go and eat"

"You don't need to come back for me, you need to stay so that you can get hungry, get out" I said angrily.

He left, and I continued watching TV.

Fifteen minutes later, he walked in with a woman. They went to our room in which Nathan and I do sleep, without even saying a word.

I smiled and I could hear the lady maorn. I knew it well that they were having sex but I never cared, he is free to do whatever he wants as long as I do not love him anymore.

He continued to bring in different ladies, and I do not care.

One day, he was forced to talk "You aren't even talking even after bringing in different ladies"

"And do you think I care about that, all I care is separating from you, I just want to be on my own, if you like bring in three ladies at once, I won't care, you have your life to live"

"I know you don't care and that is better but I hope you won't go and start calling and crying to our parents about this"

"Common, go in and do whatever you think is right, if only I care that is when I will do that, but i careless about what you do, what I want now is me moving away from this house, I am tired"

"I am more tired, seeing you annoy me"

"And that does not only go to you, same here" I said.

"Do you think we should continue like this? I have an opinion, you can bring one of your boyfriends here and I will bring one of my girlfriends here"

"You are the irresponsible one here, I am not disturbing you, you can do whatever you wish like I have said earlier, so"

"Yeah, I do not need your approval before I do anything in my father's house" He replied.

"Your Father's house but you can not even decide to stay there alone, at least you should be bold enough to let them know that you do not love me and you are not ready for this marriage, but the stupid you had no choice than to do what was said"

"And you? What about you? You claim that you are being loved at home yet you are still forced to marry who you don't want to, is that love?"
