.Brielle’s POV

Terrified by the big reveal, I cowered on the ground like a child.

“Stand up! What sorcery did you use on me?” Alpha Lucien asked angrily.

“What? I didn't do anything.” I panicked as fear began messing with my mind.

The clueless alpha looked confused as he began muttering to himself.

“Lucien! Is this real? Are you sure it's real?” Zane asked also in disbelief by what had just occurred.

“Would I lie about such a thing? I felt it, I smelled it, sensed it!”Lucien exclaimed.

“That means... she is your second mate,” Zane pointed out with his jaw dropped.

"The universe can just laugh at us! Here I am, seeking mine and you just got a second chance,"

“How is that even possible?”

I looked at both brothers cluelessly as I tried to make sense of what was going on.

“We can't take her back to Chase, Lucien.” Zane voiced after being mute for a while.

“Chase would kill her and you know that for sure.” He added as he walked up to his brother who had his hands over his face.

“ If we don't take her back and Chase finds out, it's going to be an all-out war.” Lucien pointed out as he looked at me with a fierce gaze.

“Besides, we don't know her. We can't sacrifice the safety of our people for her.” He added with a frustrated voice.

“You can't abandon your mate Lucien! It's not our way!” Zane exclaimed furiously at his brother.

“She is not my mate!” Alpha Lucien yelled back.

“I had my turn and now it's over. My real mate is gone and I don't know what or who that is but she is not my mate.” He stated, pacing back and forth.

“How do you explain what you felt? The moon goddess doesn't make mistakes Lucien. Think logically,” Zane protested.

But his brother's mind was shattered by the new revelation. I stared at both of them confused by what they were going on about.

“Brielle? Say something!” Zane asked me. I tried speaking up, but my body was too shaky to respond.

“Look at her! She has been through a lot already. You can vividly see the way she is shaken, Lucien. She is as oblivious about it as we are.” Zane pointed out.

The worst fear I had then, was being taken back to Chase. After learning his ex-wife killed herself from depression, I knew mine wouldn't be difficult to decide. Especially when I was being brought in by his worst enemy.

“Please! Don't let me go back there.” I cried out of desperation.

“We have so many unanswered questions, If you let her go, those questions would remain unanswered.” Zane voiced.

I felt a flicker of hope since the Wolf Prince was by my side.

“She comes with us but you are responsible for her. Everything she does wrong falls on you. Are we clear?” Alpha Lucien finally responded.

“Yes, I agree to that,” Zane said to his brother. The wolf prince just threw himself in the court to save my head.

“Let's move out before sunset in case there are any more mountain beats roaming around the woods.” Alpha Lucien commanded as he walked away into the woods.

“Don't worry, he is going to clear his head. My brother is slow to anger but difficult to restrain when angry.” Zane said as he unlocked my chains.

“Why are you helping me?” I asked because I was getting confused by his actions.

“You are a mystery and I don't like leaving my mystery unsolved,” He replied with a smirk.

"That might be a problem because I have no idea how to solve the mystery as well,"

“It's okay. It just sn't possible and it had never been heard of. All creatures of the moon had been blessed with one partner, the mate.” He explained.

“My brother already had a mate and they were both in love. So, you coming into the picture messes with the knowledge we had grown with.” He concluded.

“It's time to go!” Lucien ordered from behind a tree.

I walked behind both brothers as we headed to their packland. My legs began to tremble as the distance was becoming too much for me and I hadn't eaten in two days.

“Are you okay?” Zane, who turned around to check on me, asked.

“Yeah, it's just that my feet are getting numb,” I complained to him as I rested my back on a tree trunk.

“The snake bite plus you haven't eaten after losing a lot of blood is more than enough reason for it to.” He responded as he took a look at the leg.

Lucien rolled his eyes at his as he examined my condition.

“We need to go, Zane!” He yelled at his brother who paid no attention to him.

“You shouldn't put any more strain on the leg,” Zane stated after taking a look at it.

“Well she has to work, doesn't she?Or what do you want us to do? Carry her on our backs like horses?”

“Yeah, that's exactly what I'm going to do,” Zane answered firmly. He pulled me closer and swept me by feet, placing me over his broad back.

“It's not going to be comfortable but try to relax.” He whispered as I laid my head comfortably on him. Unlike his brother, he seemed to be concerned about me.

We walked for a mile before the Pack City began coming into sight.

“Welcome to Eclipse, Luna Brielle,” Zane stated as I was already wowed by the City's beauty.

“Let's wash up first. People will ask questions if we turn up like this,” Lucien recommended. We went to a stream nearby and I was asked to wash up all the smuck I had gathered from our journey.

I was in the opposite direction from where the brothers were for privacy. I took my time as the water felt so refreshing on my skin.

I turned around to leave when I bumped into something hard.

“Damn it!” I cussed without looking at who it was.

“And she is also strong,” I heard Lucien's voice remark. I raised my head to see the Alpha shirtless and wet.

“You might have my brother wrapped around your silly little games but I will get to the root of this” He threatened as he drew closer to me. I could feel his breath on my face by how close he was to me.

“I mean you no harm,” I answered with head bowed because I couldn't keep up with his intimidating stares.

“Are you sure about that,” He remarked, tilting my bowed head upward to face his gaze.

I noticed how he stared at me unmoving, not taking his eyes off me as he asked; “Are you nervous ?” His demeanor intimidated me, but didn’t stop me from talking anyway,

“For starters, I’d like to apologize for bringing back difficult memories. It was never my intention to.” His unflinching state made me quite uncomfortable, but I continued anyway, “And I am not a magic user as you might think, in fact, I only seek to escape the man who wants me dead,” I stopped to pause to check if he was still listening, and when I saw that he was, I continued; “I would lay low and when I had gathered my st—” My sentence was cut off abruptly when his loud laugh resonated across the large expanse of his woods.

“Because you think you are my mate doesn't make you anything to me ?” He said in a voice laced with mockery.

“No.” I answered firmly, “That’s why I'm begging for your help.”

“And you think I’d waltz into some personal issues you have with someone simply because of some stupid mate bond?” He asked, staring intently at me.

“What worth are you of to me? Why would I jeopardize my folks for you?"

“Sir that isn’t what I meant,” I stated with hot tears beginning to blur my vision. “I was only asking for help because I f—”

“I didn’t allow you to come with us just so you can bug me with your problems Brielle!” He snapped, cutting me off.

“Why don’t you just reject me?” I asked, my voice breaking in despair. “Why don’t you just reject me and send me back to Chase?” I let the tears fall freely from my eyes as I spoke. I couldn’t hold it in anymore, the drama, the frustration, they were all at their apex.

Just when I was about to turn away, I felt his hand snake around my wrist, stopping me in my tracks. I looked up at him, probably to find remorse in his fierce red eyes, but instead, I was met with an emptiness. It looked like a grey sea with nothing in it.

“I’m sorry for ever asking for your help,” I muttered ready to pull away, but stopped abruptly when his warm full lips enveloped mine. I felt a strange surge of pleasure run up my back at the feel of his lips against mine.

It felt like heaven. My own personal Heaven…

Epilogue Third Person's POV “How are you holding up?” Rio asked Brielle after the council of Alpha that was held in the Eclipse pack. Brielle decided not to attend the meeting because it felt like torture to be around people at the time. “Fine, everyday, a new process and new method of looking forward,” She responded with a smile. Rio's face was covered in slash scars that were still healing. “It's been weeks but I can still feel the tension,” he confessed as he laid his back against a post. “Crescent pack has begun a democratic form of leadership that will be overseen by Eclipse and the Blue Moon. As from now on, they will elect their own leaders,” “You know soon, this method will spread across other packs,” I pointed out. “Looking forward to it,” he replied with a grin. “It surely beats being born into a responsibility you didn't ask for,” “True,” Brielle reacted. “Everything is going fine, I'm free but yet I don't feel free,” He walked to her side and exhaled heavily. “

Brielle's POV“You think anger adds to strength, it doesn't,” Chase's wolf said. I was spooked when I heard it speak, it wasn't possible for a wolf to speak but I knew Chase wasn't a normal alpha like the rest. He had his paws in Lucien, crushing him to the floor. Rio and Zane were holding the rest of the alphas back and Angelina stood by the corner. She was the first one to notice me. “Why are you doing this?” I asked him. They were all shocked to see me on my feet. I held the dagger I had pulled out of my back and a sudden relief came over me. “Impossible,” Chase remarked. “You won't just die,” “No!” Angelina roared. Lucien transformed back and hurried to me. His body was scarred with claw marks and slashes. “How? Where? What's going on?” He was surprised to see me. His hands couldn't let go of mine as tears escaped his eyes. “I'm sorry, I should have protected you,” “I'm here now and we have a job to finish,” I said to him as I wiped his tears. “It's strange seeing you cry

Third Person's POV Everything felt cold, her mind sunk into the darkness and gradually got pulled into a strange void. An occurrence that caused her to gasp suddenly and jolt awake. Brielle woke up in a room, on a bed. She looked around in confusion and fright and realized it was her old room, the one back home in Crescent. She had almost forgotten how it was. “How?” She asked herself, looking around again curiously. She tried flashing back to what she remembered last but it felt blank to her. She remembered being stabbed by a lady called Angelina but it felt like a dream to her. “Sweetheart,” someone pushed open the room's door. She cowered backwards when he stepped in. It was like seeing a ghost and he was a ghost. “Brielle, are you okay? You seem frightened, honey? Is it the nightmares again?” “Dad,” she exhaled heavily, her heart thumping against her chest as she drew closer to her father. “How…how is this possible?” “How is what?” Her dad asked with a perplexed look. “I

Lucien's POV “You fight like a little boy,” Chase remarked as he crushed my windpipe with his boot. I was only able to take down two alphas before they brought me down. I could hear Rio grunting from a distance as he fought against the alpha from the north. The man fought like a beast, moved like a predator stalking its prey. He took Rio by surprise, faster than his size. “I never liked you, Lucien. I told your sister that you are nothing to me and she tried to make your existence somewhat meaningful,” He spoke with pride in his voice as he applied more force on the boot that was against my throat. “Y…you are going to die for that,” I wheezed. The air in my lungs slowly went out but I knew I had to keep fighting, I had to keep Brielle safe, I had to keep my brother safe. It was my responsibility. “I would love to s__” That was the point of his sentence that I heard. My eyes became instantly filled with a buzzing sound that disoriented my entire system. My hands shivered tremendo

Brielle's POV“Where are they?” I asked her. She stood still and slowly, the darkness around began to clear up. It was sucked into a vortex above. That was when I realized that I was in a room with chains and weapons around. “Brielle,* Zane called out behind me. I ran into his arms as he stood by the edge of the room with the Priestess. “How did you get in here?” The priestess asked. “She heard the voices,” Suzie responded as she gently changed into a new pair of shoes. “She could hear the voices of the damned. Maybe because she is part of the damned,” “What is she talking about?” I was curious to know. The look on the priestess face made it scarier to want to know. “Only few people are allowed to hear the other side, listen to what they say, the story they have to say. We call them Whisperers,” The priestess explained as she took a seat next to the fireplace. Her old raggy clothes couldn't hide the fear she felt. “Do you want to tell her?” Suzie referred to the Priestess. “D

Lucien's POV.“I need them here as soon as possible,” I said to the squad leader on the phone. “And General, stay safe,” “Brielle! Damn it!” Rio's voice caught my attention. It was coming from.the dining chambers. I hurried in to meet his hand on her, she was looking almost lifeless. “Rio!” I growled and pulled him away from her. “What the fuck did you do to her?” I held her hand and it was cold as ice. She was mumbling words that I couldn't understand, saying them on repeat as she was glued to the spot she stood. I couldn't move her, it was like moving an unmovable pillar. “She's sucked into wherever they are,” Rio replied as he examined her beside me. “I saw her got called by it. She was drawn to it, they wanted her in there,” “Who is they? You keep saying they, I didn't even know who THEY are,” I retorted. I was falling deeper into the confusion with each glance. I had no idea what to do because both my brother and the priestess that could help were both trapped in wherever
