Brielle’s POV
“You ran from the Crescent pack and dared come to Eclipse. Brave kitten,” Zane remarked, his smirk terrified me morethan his words. “ I was pulled here by the tides, I wasn't looking for trouble,” I responded with a trembling voice, scared to death as I stood in between both brothers. From the stories, I feared I might had ran into an equal situation like the one I was fleeing from. I confirmed his identity when he turned to place new wood into the fire. his alpha mark was visible on his back but he was different from the other alphas. he didn't have the submission mark. The submission marks were on all the Alphas that had bent the knee to Chase. “You fell from the edge of the cliff at Crescent?” Lucien asked with his gaze fixated on the burning wood. “Not fall, I jumped off it. It was either that or face torture from Chase.” I responded. “You expect me believe that you survived the fall from the Crescent cliff? That's impossible," Zane retorted swiftly. “ Are you lying, kitten?" he thundered his question with a furious brow. “I have no reason to lie. There's no point of it," I answered carefully, calming my racing my heart with deep slow breath. "I believe you," Alpha Lucien sighed heavily by the fireside. "Our sister was once his bride also," My breath seized in hearing those words. I recalled Alpha Chase having a Luna before I left the pack. "Your beloved husband murdered her for his games, his sports for pleasure," “Was that how she died?" I asked, panting heavy and steady. My mind tried to capture the despair she went through with him. “She took her own life," Zane replied. He shut his eyes and tilted dhis head backwards to restrain his emotions. “Laurel was my twin, the strongest being I had ever seen. How come she died while you, a puny fragile girl, survived?” He added a question “I don't know, the last thing I recalled before here was jumping. I don't know how I survived.” I responded. “I don't want another war with the Crescent pack. At dawn, I am sending you back to Chase.” Lucien decreed. “Please don't let me go back! Please, he would kill me.” “We can't break the peace treaty we had brokered with the Crescent because of you. So, try to rest easy. We leave at first light.” Zane responded. “Brielle? I hope you understand that tens of thousands of people's lives are on the line here. I can't put my pack in jeopardy.” Lucien explained. I opened my mouth to reply but there were no words. “I'm sorry for the trouble,” I apologized. Lucien lay down close to where the fire was while Zain looked troubled and restless. “You can't sleep like that,” Zane remarked as he came with the key to my chain to free me. “I never knew about your sister,” I spoke out, breaking the uncomfortable silence between us. “It wasn't public knowledge,” He replied as he tried removing the chain that was wrapped around the tree. “Did you find your true mate or was it Chase ?” He asked while he freed me. “No! Maybe I don't have or maybe I am just destined to be somebody's flesh bag.”I responded. He tied the chains around my hands and legs but it was more comfortable than being strapped to a tree. “What about you?” I asked. “Not yet but she's out there I can feel her close by every day.” He replied as he lay facing me. The look on his face was melting and his words came out heavy. “What about your brother? I heard the great Alpha Lucien is a killer who raped and wedded all the Lunas from all alphas he had butchered.” I uttered with a smile I had to put on to make the question less awkward. Lucien, who I had thought was asleep, scoffed at my statement. “I had a mate.” “Had?” I shot back cautiously. “And he doesn't go around raping or killing. It's just a lie spread by the Chase's pack of Alphas,” Zane stated. "Lucien refused to bow to the man that killed our sister but the treaty was made. We both stay out of each other way and Eclipse solely independent in its own," “So as you can see, I am…” Lucien got interrupted by roars coming from the woods. It sound was coming from all around us. “Wild beasts, I think the one we killed belonged to a pride!” Lucien panicked. They both stood up ready to fight against the pride of wild mountain lions that had surrounded us. “Brother! There are so many of them!” Zane exclaimed loudly. “Free me! I can help.” I voiced in a shaky tone. I was scared because the growls were getting closer. “Can you shape-shift ?” Lucien asked. “What?” I panicked “It's a full moon, Brielle! Can you shapeshift?” He blurted. “No! I can't!” I responded swiftly. “You are a grown werewolf and you can't shape-shift? How is that even possible?” Zane lashed out angrily. In an instant, both brothers' clothes ripped to pieces as fur came out from their flesh. Their palms turned into paws while their faces grew whiskers. They growled and roared in pain as I heard the sound of their bones breaking into pieces forming a wolf. They turned around to look at me with their blood-red eyes. Lucien appeared to be the black wolf while Zane was the wolf with the brownish fur. I was still admiring the amazing transformation of the alpha brothers when two mountain lions had a jump on us. It was a battle between savage beasts as the brothers tried to overpower the wild mountain lions. I tried to break loose from my chains but it was made too tight. I was still struggling with it when I heard a loud growl behind me. I turned to see red glowing eyes staring at me from the bushes. “Help!” I yelled as the wild beast ran to attack. It was about to pounce on me when Zane intercepted it mid-air. I was able to get my hands loose from the chain but my legs were still stuck. The mountain lion had overpowered Zane, biting all over him. It turned to me with its fierce blood-red eyes. I almost blacked out as my body began trembling. I closed my eyes as soon as I saw it coming to attack. I had accepted my fate but was shocked when I heard a loud squirm. I opened my eyes to see Lucien in front of me guarding me like an angel with the mountain lion slayed at its feet. I looked at his black beautiful fur and I felt drawn to it. It was like a spark within me was ignited when I placed my hands on it. My body felt electrocuted as soon as my fingers came in contact with him. His wolf form looked at me like he had felt the same shock I did. My heart began racing as sweat covered my body. I felt an undeniable pull to him like I had been searching for him all my life. In an instant, he transformed back into a human with his eyes widened and jaws dropped in shock. “What was that?” I asked, looking around confused. “How did you do that?” Lucien asked angrily. “I didn't do anything,” I responded, still confused by what had happened. “What happened?”Zane, who had also shape-shifted back into a human, asked. “Brother, what did she do?” “We just mate bonded,” He responded with eyes wide open in disbelief. “She can't be my mate,” Alpha Lucien doubted out loud.Epilogue Third Person's POV “How are you holding up?” Rio asked Brielle after the council of Alpha that was held in the Eclipse pack. Brielle decided not to attend the meeting because it felt like torture to be around people at the time. “Fine, everyday, a new process and new method of looking forward,” She responded with a smile. Rio's face was covered in slash scars that were still healing. “It's been weeks but I can still feel the tension,” he confessed as he laid his back against a post. “Crescent pack has begun a democratic form of leadership that will be overseen by Eclipse and the Blue Moon. As from now on, they will elect their own leaders,” “You know soon, this method will spread across other packs,” I pointed out. “Looking forward to it,” he replied with a grin. “It surely beats being born into a responsibility you didn't ask for,” “True,” Brielle reacted. “Everything is going fine, I'm free but yet I don't feel free,” He walked to her side and exhaled heavily. “
Brielle's POV“You think anger adds to strength, it doesn't,” Chase's wolf said. I was spooked when I heard it speak, it wasn't possible for a wolf to speak but I knew Chase wasn't a normal alpha like the rest. He had his paws in Lucien, crushing him to the floor. Rio and Zane were holding the rest of the alphas back and Angelina stood by the corner. She was the first one to notice me. “Why are you doing this?” I asked him. They were all shocked to see me on my feet. I held the dagger I had pulled out of my back and a sudden relief came over me. “Impossible,” Chase remarked. “You won't just die,” “No!” Angelina roared. Lucien transformed back and hurried to me. His body was scarred with claw marks and slashes. “How? Where? What's going on?” He was surprised to see me. His hands couldn't let go of mine as tears escaped his eyes. “I'm sorry, I should have protected you,” “I'm here now and we have a job to finish,” I said to him as I wiped his tears. “It's strange seeing you cry
Third Person's POV Everything felt cold, her mind sunk into the darkness and gradually got pulled into a strange void. An occurrence that caused her to gasp suddenly and jolt awake. Brielle woke up in a room, on a bed. She looked around in confusion and fright and realized it was her old room, the one back home in Crescent. She had almost forgotten how it was. “How?” She asked herself, looking around again curiously. She tried flashing back to what she remembered last but it felt blank to her. She remembered being stabbed by a lady called Angelina but it felt like a dream to her. “Sweetheart,” someone pushed open the room's door. She cowered backwards when he stepped in. It was like seeing a ghost and he was a ghost. “Brielle, are you okay? You seem frightened, honey? Is it the nightmares again?” “Dad,” she exhaled heavily, her heart thumping against her chest as she drew closer to her father. “How…how is this possible?” “How is what?” Her dad asked with a perplexed look. “I
Lucien's POV “You fight like a little boy,” Chase remarked as he crushed my windpipe with his boot. I was only able to take down two alphas before they brought me down. I could hear Rio grunting from a distance as he fought against the alpha from the north. The man fought like a beast, moved like a predator stalking its prey. He took Rio by surprise, faster than his size. “I never liked you, Lucien. I told your sister that you are nothing to me and she tried to make your existence somewhat meaningful,” He spoke with pride in his voice as he applied more force on the boot that was against my throat. “Y…you are going to die for that,” I wheezed. The air in my lungs slowly went out but I knew I had to keep fighting, I had to keep Brielle safe, I had to keep my brother safe. It was my responsibility. “I would love to s__” That was the point of his sentence that I heard. My eyes became instantly filled with a buzzing sound that disoriented my entire system. My hands shivered tremendo
Brielle's POV“Where are they?” I asked her. She stood still and slowly, the darkness around began to clear up. It was sucked into a vortex above. That was when I realized that I was in a room with chains and weapons around. “Brielle,* Zane called out behind me. I ran into his arms as he stood by the edge of the room with the Priestess. “How did you get in here?” The priestess asked. “She heard the voices,” Suzie responded as she gently changed into a new pair of shoes. “She could hear the voices of the damned. Maybe because she is part of the damned,” “What is she talking about?” I was curious to know. The look on the priestess face made it scarier to want to know. “Only few people are allowed to hear the other side, listen to what they say, the story they have to say. We call them Whisperers,” The priestess explained as she took a seat next to the fireplace. Her old raggy clothes couldn't hide the fear she felt. “Do you want to tell her?” Suzie referred to the Priestess. “D
Lucien's POV.“I need them here as soon as possible,” I said to the squad leader on the phone. “And General, stay safe,” “Brielle! Damn it!” Rio's voice caught my attention. It was coming from.the dining chambers. I hurried in to meet his hand on her, she was looking almost lifeless. “Rio!” I growled and pulled him away from her. “What the fuck did you do to her?” I held her hand and it was cold as ice. She was mumbling words that I couldn't understand, saying them on repeat as she was glued to the spot she stood. I couldn't move her, it was like moving an unmovable pillar. “She's sucked into wherever they are,” Rio replied as he examined her beside me. “I saw her got called by it. She was drawn to it, they wanted her in there,” “Who is they? You keep saying they, I didn't even know who THEY are,” I retorted. I was falling deeper into the confusion with each glance. I had no idea what to do because both my brother and the priestess that could help were both trapped in wherever
