Brielle’s POV

The kiss seemed to ignite a special kind of fire in my body. I closed my eyes fearing it was one of those really realistic dreams people had and that I would soon wake up from it. But I was soon snapped back to reality when I felt myself being lowered down.

It’s real! It was fucking real!

I felt his hands tug at my panties from under my dress but my thoughts were too fuzzy to think about caring. My eyes tore open in shock when I noticed his large hand wrap around my neck;

“Where are you guys?” Zane called out. Snapping both of us out of the moment.

“How… what… how?” Lucien stuttered. He seemed confused and disoriented like I was. I was just as lost too, my hips still trembling from the pressure within them.

“Zane, one moment!” Lucien ran towards his brother's voice while he dressed.

“Was I this damaged?” I asked myself. At that moment, I had no control over my impulses or my emotions. I knew about a mate impulse but I never expected it to be that extreme.

“Brielle! Are you coming or what?” Zane shouted out to me. I snapped out of my thought cycle and got dressed.

“Where are we going?” I asked when I caught up with the brothers.

“Our final destination, we are not that far,” Zane responded. I turned to Lucien, to get some clearance from his expression. But, he turned away just before I could.

“Let's go,” He muttered without even lifting his head.

We walked in silence towards the border, as they called it, the Great Wall. I knew of how safeguarded packs were but I had never seen a security force as tough as that.

“Alpha Lucien,” A guard who seemed to be stationed at the top of a tall tree voiced.

“Can you come down here?”Zane responded. And in an instant, a tall man stood in front of us.

“Sirs!”He saluted.

“What happened here and where is the rest of the force?”Zane asked. I detected a strong stench of blood coming from all over the forest and it sent out a scary aura that immediately enveloped the entire region.

“Raiders stormed the city by the entrance, we managed to push them back. They came in really fast,,” The soldier announced with his head bowed.

“I'm sorry Alpha Lucien,”

“Don't be. You came out of it with your life and body parts intact. I'm proud,” Lucien commended the soldier whose face beamed up.

“We can't allow these savages to raid us anytime they want, brother. They must be stopped!”Zane voiced angrily.

“Agreed,” Lucien muttered with a thinking pose.

“No worries Sir, we have this area secured. You can go in with your guest,” The Soldier said.

The brothers smiled at him as we walked away from the spot.

“Open the gates!” Lucien commanded as we got to the gate with an eclipse symbol on it.

The huge gates sprung open and the scenery I was met with amazed me. I felt different like I was in a whole new universe packed with beautiful buildings and neatly tiled roads.

“It's beautiful,” I muttered without thinking.

“If you think this is nice, wait till you see the estate,” Zane said to me with a smile.

A black SUV immediately stopped in front of us.

“Go in,” Lucien commanded. His thick masculine voice snapped me back into consciousness.

“Where are we going?” I asked, looking around like a lost puppy.

“Home,”

I got in and within a minute we arrived at the biggest estate I had ever seen. The gates were made of gold and the walls were as high as the city's.

“Is this the Alpha’s estate?” I asked Zane with my head stretched out the window to soak in the beauty of the mansion. .

I stood lifeless admiring how busy it was, workers buzzed around, performing different duties.

“Don't be so wowed, act natural,” Zane whispered in my ears. His voice was soothing and calming. I smiled at his remark and turned to Lucien who walked ahead. The workers stared as we walked up to the main room, their whispers followed my every step.

"Let's not try to drag in too much attention,"

"Too late, brother," Lucien muttered as he turned to the ladies who giggled and stared at Zane with lustful eyes.

“Come on Lucien, you know I can't hide my glow. I am who I am,” Zane responded and both brothers chuckled softly.

“Are you okay?” He asked with his hands holding onto mine.

I smiled in response, I felt really safe with him but for some unexplainable reason, my mind wouldn't let go of Lucien. I felt obsessed with him already from just the first encounter.

I have heard of the bond's obsessive connection but I never thought it could be that severe. I was already driven crazy from just thinking about the scenario.

“You are back,” A lady said. Her radiating skin was the first to cat h my attention before the amazing shape that followed.

“Yeah, we are back,” Lucien responded, reciprocating with a smile. My body tingled as jealousy began setting in.

“I missed you,” She said before wrapping her arms around her. At first, I thought she was going in for a kiss. My heart raced unexpectedly as I tightened my grip on Zane's hand instinctively.

A little sense of calmness came when they hugged. Her grip around him and the way he succumbed to it made me even more uncomfortable.

There was something wrong, the feeling didn't come from me but something within me that felt upset. My wolf infact, something I hadn't felt since birth.

"Why are you growling?" Zane whispered a question with a curious look.

"I am?" I retorted, unaware of the slow burning growls that erupted from my guts. My voice caught the attention of the lady who walked up to me curiously.

"Where did you pick up this stray?"

Her question shot within me in a furious rage. The growls got even louder as I stared back at her, unaware of what I could do next.

Lucien's POV “Why did you get out of your room?” I helped her lay back down. Her hands were cold as ice as she shivered uncontrollably. “It seems like you are coming up with a fever. It might be your body reacting to the silver that was once in it,” “Nice,” she scoffed. “An alpha and a caregiver, you are full of surprises. I wonder what else you have in store,” She added with a smile that lightened the mood. “That's pretty much all the gifts I have. And why did you even step out of your room?” “I heard how chaotic it was, so I decided to check it out,” She answered softly. There was no fire in her, it was like she had lost her purpose, her hope. “Rest,” I patted her down. I looked around the room, trying to avoid direct eye contact because of the allegations that I couldn't shake off my mind. I wondered what if, just if they were right. I couldn't tell, I couldn't assume that my oldest friend, the twin of my beloved, would murder her sister. I stepped out after tucking her in,

Brielle's POV“Zane!” Lucien's voice thundered in the hospital as he stormed in. Zane was restrained to a bed, the look he had scared me at first glance. “What is wrong with you?” “Alpha,” A doctor stopped Lucien from moving further. “Your brother appears to be suffering some sort of mental breakdown. So if you don't mind, we will need you to take it easy on him,” “Breakdown?” Lucien reacted. “What's happening to my brother?” He asked the doctors. Their faces explained enough that they had no idea what was wrong with him. “Zane,” I called out softly. He responded to my voice by turning his gaze to me, his eyes were blood red and teary. It carried a mix of emotions that I couldn't describe. Pain, anger, fear, sadness. All of them bubbled inside of him and it hurt me to see him like that. “Just give us time to work,” The doctor ushered us to the waiting room. Lucien was unsettled, looking over his shoulders to his brother. I could feel how worried he was and it was an overwhelmin

Lucien's POV She wouldn't leave his side, his blood all over her outfit as they bagged up the body and placed it in the ambulance. The loud siren sound filled the area and the abandoned company and woods were marked as a crime scene. Since the incident, Zane has been nowhere to be found.Forensics and detectives filled the area soon enough. I was proud that they were using the budget allocated for great use. The law enforcement department took the highest budget that year. A necessary upgrade to ensure peace during this Chase fiasco. “You might want to see this, Alpha,” The Inspector said to me as I waited outside the crime scene. I hesitated to follow her into the warehouse. I didn't want to leave Brielle in such a condition. She still looked shaken, her hands shivered in the blanket and I could feel her fear through our mate bond. “Do I have to come along?” I replied. “The evidence unit is yet to bag them, so it's best you come see them now because they can't be moved,” She said

Lucien's POV “Where is she?” No one could answer my question. Law enforcement had begun going through security footage and interrogating hospital personnel and staff. “I'm sorry brother,” Zane approached me. “I should have known something was wrong. I thought maybe she needed space and I didn't see what was coming next,” I exhaled deeply, letting out the frustration through my breath. “No, it's no one's fault. We are going to get her back,” “Chase might already have her,” He stated the fear that was clearly on both our minds. I suspected it might be him but I remained optimistic, hoping for the best.“Then I will get her back,” I responded. My expression was as cold as the chills that ran through my veins. “I don't care about who but I am certain that I'm not going to let her be anyone's captive. Are you, brother?”The anger in his eyes was visible and he was still going through a lot of pain from his injuries. But that wouldn't stop him, “I will die before I let anything ha

Brielle's POV “You need help, Romero. I can give it to you, I can help,” I muttered out of fear, I couldn't help but quake as he got even nearer. “Help? What do you think I am?” He replied with a distorted expression. The smile on his face sent chills up my spine. “No, I don't need help. I am the one helping alright,” “Just let me go please,” “Stop begging!” He thundered angrily. Stretched out his hands, trying to reach me. “I didn't kidnap you, I just needed to show you the evidence I had gathered so far. I don't want to hurt you,” I was careful, I didn't know the words that might trigger him and I wanted to use that moment to my advantage. “Okay, show me what you brought me here for,” “Alright,” He exhaled heavily with a soft laugh. “I almost thought you were like the others. Come,” He beckoned on me, I drew closer cautiously. Trying to hide the fear that was tearing through my heart. “This is what I'm talking about,” He pulled out a photo that had some sides worn out.

  • The Contract Luna's Salvation    Chapter Forty Three

Brielle's POV “Walk out with me slowly,” He whispered, hoarsely. “Don't try anything smart with me girl,I'm not in the mood,” “Kidnapping? Again, really?” I voiced to myself as I walked beside him to the exit. He looked baffled, uncomfortably on edge as he stood close to me. “Yo, kitten!” Zane's voice erupted behind me. “Where do you think you are going? We need to get back inside, brainstorming and all,” “Be natural,” Romero muttered quietly. I turned to see a concerned expression on Zane's face as he held onto the wound by his side. He really looked beat and with Romero history with substances, I knew he would kill Zane out of desperation. That wasn't an outcome I can live with. “I just wanted some air, that's all,” I replied to him with a smile. Romero walked ahead a few paces, far enough to avoid suspicion but close enough to act. “The last time you needed air, you got kidnapped. That's not happening, get back in the room,” He shot back. “Please, Zane,” I said softly, l
