Lucien’s POV

We sat in the wardroom waiting for the doctor’s report and the doctor. I had never felt suspense like I did on that day. My heart ponded in my chest as I stared at Zane who paced back and forth the room in frustration.

“Where is the damn doctor?!” he growled angrily.

“I am here,” the doctor announced as he pushed open the door with a file in his arm. And behind him was two other doctors who looked like they had just seen a ghost. I know from experience that when doctors form a pack to deliver a news to someone, especially my family, it was never something pleasant.

“Prince Zane, Lady Brielle…”

“Let me cut you off there Doctor,” Brielle said with groans of pain as she sat up to look at them in the eyes. “I already know about your judicial crap, so deliver the bad news,”

I sighed heavily and relaxed my back on the chair to listen to what he had to say.

“Your scans and test result came in, and there was no forced entry in the vagina that we can use for a rape case, although the pink wolfsbane in your system is a drug that stimulates sexual hormones and creates hallucinations. It is illegal and the report have been sent to your mansion incase you are building a case.” He started and then took a pause to stare at the other doctors.

Impatiently i ordered, “Speak and stop wasting my time!”

“I am sorry, the child is dead. We would like to conduct an operation to remove…”

And suddenly everything went blank, I could see the doctor’s lips moving but I couldn’t make out a single word. My heart felt like it was been stabbed continuously as tears escaped my eyes.

I felt angry but the emotions I was feeling were not mine. I turned to Brielle who sat speechless, staring at the doctors as they spoke. I knew it was her heartbreak I felt, and I had no idea what to do to fix it.

Zane’s hand was across his face as he fell to his knees. And with pain, he asked

“When are you to carry out the surgery?”

“As…as soon as you give the g…go ahead,” The doctor stuttered as his hands shook in fear.

“Careful doc, those hands need to be steady for surgery,” I said as I stood up from my seat.

“We wouldn’t want you nipping a vein,” I whispered into his ear as I walk past him.

I never thought I could feel that way again, protective, furiously in love to the point of breaking my bones to satisfy her. I looked around and I knew there was just one thing that could ease my pain.

So I got into my car and took the long drive to satisfy my cravings.

Sitting in the bedroom where he did all those things to her, I realized something. That my body was shaking with excitement that I couldn’t contain.

“Come on ladies,” Rio chirped as he wrapped his hands around two of his slut that he brought into the bedroom. I watched them kiss and moan from the dark side of the room, with my brain thinking of the perfect way to cement that moment into his memory forever.

“Fuck me Alpha Rio,” the brunette moaned as he sat on him and rode his manhood like a horse.

“All of you, get out,” I said softly from the dark corner, catching their attention. Immediately the girl jumped off him in fear as they finally noticed my presence.

“How did you get in here? Better question, how did you conceal your scent?” he asked as I looked at me with surprise on his face.

“Come on Rio, put on your trousers. I have seen enough of your balls for one lifetime,” I said to him as I tossed the trouser to him.

“And girls, please get out,” I said calmly with a smile.

“Girls, please leave before our dear Lucien do something hurtful to you. And you know I can’t let that happen,” Rio said to the girls, making them blush and causing their cheeks to turn red.

Immediately, the girls ran out with their clothes in their arms. I waited for him to put on his trousers before I got close to him.

“The child died,” I said to his face and waited for his next words because that would determine what I would do next.

“Oh, I am so sorry for your loss. Please send my condolences to the parents, it’s very sad,” he replied with a sad look. His face upside down like he was grieving and all it made me feel was pain and a fire in my stomach.

“You drugged her to rape her, and you knew she was living with me,” I muttered as I stared at him in the eyes. Furiously, I released my fist on his face causing blood to ooze out of his mouth as he bit down on his tongue.

“You maniac!” he exclaimed with a smile dancing on his lips.

“She bit down on her tongue, probably to kill your satisfaction. Now you know how she felt,” I said to him and then walked to the door to lock it.

“You can’t beat me, I am not your average wolf,”

“You are right, you are not,” I remarked as I put the key to the door in my pocket and pulled up the sleeve off my shirt.

“Unlike my brother who rages and runs head on to fight, I plan. I make moves like chess pieces in a board and the first thing I got a whiff of was the hatred some of your workers have for you,”

“You bribed them to poison me and you think it will work? My dear Lucien, I eat poison for breakfast,” he responded with a smirk on his face.

And then finally he noticed it, the blood coming out his mouth and tongue were not stopping. He looked at me with despair in his eyes.

“What did you do?”

“As I was saying, I don’t bring knife to a knife fight. I bring a chainsaw,” I growled as I pulled on him to the floor and began punching into his skull. Repeatedly, the blows made an echo in the mansion, loud enough to be heard in every room.

I stopped when I saw how distorted his face was, but I wasn’t satisfied yet. I pulled him to the bed as he whizzed for breath with his hands stretched out.

“I really wish I had more time to experiment on you, I wanted to hold the heart that gave you the courage to go after what is mine,”

“How is this possible?” he managed to ask as he choked on his own blood.

“You have been drinking and eating silver, normal werewolves would be dead but because you are a freak, you will survive the poison but you won't me,” I responded and turned him over to look him in the eyes.

“In the next one minute, this place would be flooded with your guard. So, I better get to it,” I sighed as I held his hand and broke every finger on it. He roared in pain as I held on to them with a smile.

“I will be back and trust me, next time, I will break more than just fingers and pretty face.” I said to him with a gentle pat on the head.

By the time his guard burst through the door, I had taken my exit out.

Lucien's POV“What the hell is going on here?” I asked , my voice conveyed how fast my patience was drifting. I have the chance to avenge Trivia and I wasn't going to waste it, even if the culprit shared the same DNA with her. “Mummy, is this brother bothering you?” The little girl asked , her look for more intimidating by the second. Suddenly an image flashes in my head and I recall where I knew her from. The image was from a memory of playing hide and seek with the little girl in front of me. And that was over two decades ago. “Cut the crap, Suzie!” I growled angrily. I walked to Angelina's bedside because I already knew what her presence meant. Chase was in the building and I wasn't going to let anyone stand before me and my revenge. The blank face on Angelina was intoxicating. She was still keeping up with appearances even after realizing that she was busted. “You know who I am, brother?” She asked, advancing slowly. Her eyes glowing red and her aura getting despicable as she

Lucien's POV “Why did you get out of your room?” I helped her lay back down. Her hands were cold as ice as she shivered uncontrollably. “It seems like you are coming up with a fever. It might be your body reacting to the silver that was once in it,” “Nice,” she scoffed. “An alpha and a caregiver, you are full of surprises. I wonder what else you have in store,” She added with a smile that lightened the mood. “That's pretty much all the gifts I have. And why did you even step out of your room?” “I heard how chaotic it was, so I decided to check it out,” She answered softly. There was no fire in her, it was like she had lost her purpose, her hope. “Rest,” I patted her down. I looked around the room, trying to avoid direct eye contact because of the allegations that I couldn't shake off my mind. I wondered what if, just if they were right. I couldn't tell, I couldn't assume that my oldest friend, the twin of my beloved, would murder her sister. I stepped out after tucking her in,

Brielle's POV“Zane!” Lucien's voice thundered in the hospital as he stormed in. Zane was restrained to a bed, the look he had scared me at first glance. “What is wrong with you?” “Alpha,” A doctor stopped Lucien from moving further. “Your brother appears to be suffering some sort of mental breakdown. So if you don't mind, we will need you to take it easy on him,” “Breakdown?” Lucien reacted. “What's happening to my brother?” He asked the doctors. Their faces explained enough that they had no idea what was wrong with him. “Zane,” I called out softly. He responded to my voice by turning his gaze to me, his eyes were blood red and teary. It carried a mix of emotions that I couldn't describe. Pain, anger, fear, sadness. All of them bubbled inside of him and it hurt me to see him like that. “Just give us time to work,” The doctor ushered us to the waiting room. Lucien was unsettled, looking over his shoulders to his brother. I could feel how worried he was and it was an overwhelmin

Lucien's POV She wouldn't leave his side, his blood all over her outfit as they bagged up the body and placed it in the ambulance. The loud siren sound filled the area and the abandoned company and woods were marked as a crime scene. Since the incident, Zane has been nowhere to be found.Forensics and detectives filled the area soon enough. I was proud that they were using the budget allocated for great use. The law enforcement department took the highest budget that year. A necessary upgrade to ensure peace during this Chase fiasco. “You might want to see this, Alpha,” The Inspector said to me as I waited outside the crime scene. I hesitated to follow her into the warehouse. I didn't want to leave Brielle in such a condition. She still looked shaken, her hands shivered in the blanket and I could feel her fear through our mate bond. “Do I have to come along?” I replied. “The evidence unit is yet to bag them, so it's best you come see them now because they can't be moved,” She said

Lucien's POV “Where is she?” No one could answer my question. Law enforcement had begun going through security footage and interrogating hospital personnel and staff. “I'm sorry brother,” Zane approached me. “I should have known something was wrong. I thought maybe she needed space and I didn't see what was coming next,” I exhaled deeply, letting out the frustration through my breath. “No, it's no one's fault. We are going to get her back,” “Chase might already have her,” He stated the fear that was clearly on both our minds. I suspected it might be him but I remained optimistic, hoping for the best.“Then I will get her back,” I responded. My expression was as cold as the chills that ran through my veins. “I don't care about who but I am certain that I'm not going to let her be anyone's captive. Are you, brother?”The anger in his eyes was visible and he was still going through a lot of pain from his injuries. But that wouldn't stop him, “I will die before I let anything ha

Brielle's POV “You need help, Romero. I can give it to you, I can help,” I muttered out of fear, I couldn't help but quake as he got even nearer. “Help? What do you think I am?” He replied with a distorted expression. The smile on his face sent chills up my spine. “No, I don't need help. I am the one helping alright,” “Just let me go please,” “Stop begging!” He thundered angrily. Stretched out his hands, trying to reach me. “I didn't kidnap you, I just needed to show you the evidence I had gathered so far. I don't want to hurt you,” I was careful, I didn't know the words that might trigger him and I wanted to use that moment to my advantage. “Okay, show me what you brought me here for,” “Alright,” He exhaled heavily with a soft laugh. “I almost thought you were like the others. Come,” He beckoned on me, I drew closer cautiously. Trying to hide the fear that was tearing through my heart. “This is what I'm talking about,” He pulled out a photo that had some sides worn out.
