Liliana slowly opened her eyes, feeling strange with a weird sense of heaviness overwhelming her. 

“Ana, you… Doctor… She is awake,” a familiar voice echoed, sounding like Liliana had just returned from the land of the dead. 

She remained still until the lady who just walked out returned with a young man dressed in a white coat. 

“Wow. I still can't believe she woke up after the test we conducted on her today,” the doctor said before he began to take off the oxygen and machine fixed on Liliana. 

He raised two fingers close to Liliana's face before asking, “How many fingers are this?”

“Two…”

“What about this?”

“Four.”

The doctor smiled faintly before turning to face the young lady who Liliana now remembers. It is her childhood friend, Agatha. 

“Miss Agatha, I would run a few tests on your friend and have the nurse get back to you on when she would be discharged,” the doctor said before walking out. 

“Agatha, my baby…. My—”

“Liliana, I am sorry I came late. I am sorry I couldn't stop that bastard from hurting you,” Agatha interrupted Liliana, taking in her hand. “You almost died, Liliana.”

“I can't imagine what would have happened if I didn't hear your scream or Alpha Martin's—”

“Prince Martin?”

“He is now the Alpha of Moonclaw pack, Ana,” Agatha said, making Liliana's brow furrowed in confusion. It felt like yesterday. She remembered her father-in-law was still alive and Prince Martin…

“He was crown the pack's Alpha three years ago,” Agatha continued. “I have to move you from the pack to make sure no one hurts you further and—”

“Agatha what are you saying? Three years ago?” Liliana asked after trying so hard to make sense of Agatha's words but couldn't. 

It was making no sense cause she remembered clearly. It still felt like it happened few hours ago— how she walked in to announce her pregnancy only to meet Martin's mistress. How she was chased after by Martins just to be dragged to hospital to have her fetus removed. And the rejection…

“You have been in comma for five years, Ana,” Agatha paused, staring right into Liliana's ice blue eyes like she could read the confusion going on in her head. “Alpha Martin's rejection led you to comma. I didn't think—”

“So I have been lying here for five years? Five years?” Liliana asked loudly, not sure if she should burst into laughter or tears. 

How come she was always unfortunate? First, the moon goddess made her chubby, an Omega who had no wolf, utterly useless. And now this?

“Five years or five days, I am glad you make it alive, Liliana,” Agatha said before reaching for her hands. “Other Omegas who were rejected by their mates, especially those claimed, never make it alive.”

“None, Liliana,” she added with a sad facial expression. 

Before Liliana could ask further questions, Agatha's phone began to ring. 

“Give me a moment,” she said before reaching for her phone. 

With one swipe, her voice which was calm suddenly became cold. “What? Alpha King Dablo is back in the pack? He…”

That was all Liliana could hear before Agatha walked out of the ward like there was something she was never meant to hear. 

‘Alpha King…’

Liliana's eyes immediately widened when she remembered that name. That face that uniquely stick to her. She remembered he was there on her wedding day; ice dreadlocks, red-green eyes and a body that felt like the moon goddess spent years crafting into perfection… unlike her chubby self.

“Your majesty—”

“Where is Priestess Ize?” Alpha King Dablo's voice thundered in the room before his Beta could complete his words. 

Even though it's been months since he last stepped foot here in the pack with his brother and Beta assisting with the pack and the kingdom's affair, his temperament haven't changed. Especially that stern look and icy gaze. 

“Alpha Dablo, I am sorry I didn't come in time,” Priestess Ize's voice cut through the silence in the room. 

Beta Thorne bowed slightly to Alpha King Dablo before leaving the room. Even though he wants to inform Alpha Dablo about the royal council meeting he can't move forward again, he knows how much this meeting means for Alpha Dablo. 

“Were you able—”

“Was I able? Ize, you assured me I would find her! This is the third year for goddess's sake!” Alpha Dablo's voice echoed loudly. “When am I going to find my mate? Or would I find another bride that would end up dying like the other three?” He asked loudly, a part of him fighting hard not to remember how his three wives passed away. 

Even though it's been years, the memories still felt fresh in his head. He can't stop blaming himself for what happened, after all he is cursed. The same curse that claimed his parents lives. 

“The moon goddess have never passed a false message—”

“I give you from now until the next cursed moon night,” he paused, piercing into Priestess Ize's eyes. “If I don't find my mate, Ize, just consider yourself dead.”

“I am done waiting for whatever shit message the moon goddess have been giving you!” He added before leaving for his main room, hoping this would be the last time he would be having this conversation. 

With his mate, his curse would be gone— after all, her life would be the sacrifice to break his curse.
