"Stop it!" I roared, grabbing Alexis by the shoulder and flinging her away.

"Urgh" I heard Alexis grunt of pains but I could care less about it.

All my attention was fixed on Megan who had fainted from the shock of being near death for the second time.

I wondered what would have happened if I had not come on time. But then it seems like I was also late this time too. The first time, I was late and yet I was late this time again.

Looking at the unconscious body of Megan lying on the floor, my anger began to grow and I slowly released my aura.

What the hell was Alexis thinking? Trying to kill her. Sometimes, I just couldn't understand what was going on in my beta's head as she would sometimes act weird.

This time, I was to blame, I hadn't taken good care of Megan even though I knew that she was going to try to escape once she woke up. And since no one knew her she was a threat or an invader.

I tried to justify what Alexis did, but no matter how much I tried to justify it, I just couldn't bring myself to agree with my logic, and as such my anger began to grow. The more I tried to convince myself, the more I got angry.

The more I got angry, the more I subconsciously released my aura suffocating all that was around me. I could care less about anything and just couldn't forgive myself for what had happened.

I had to thank the maid who had come to inform me that she had seen Megan walk out of the room. If not for her, Megan would have been dead before I arrived and I didn't know what I was going to do if that should have happened.

I was on the verge of discussing some important matter with the elders so I was looking for them, but then the maid found me first and told me.

Till now, I just couldn't stop my heart from beating wildly as I didn't know what I would have done if Megan had died.

"Alpha..." A voice came bringing me out of my thoughts.

Immediately, I came back to my senses and turned to look at Alexis who had called me my eyes dilating for a moment.

"Why the hell did you do that?" I growled staring at Alexis.

"I...." Alexis shuttered as she gulped down some saliva.

"You thought what?" I frowned, staring at her while releasing my aura automatically bringing her down to her knees as there was no way her body would be able to take it.

"I...I thought...thought she was a spy..." Alexis shuttered as she managed to say.

"I see," I muttered, increasing the pressure my aura had on her.

"Alpha...." Alexis managed to say through gritted teeth as the pressure was weighing her down. Her knees were pressing deep into the floor and I could see faint signs of blood on her knees due to the pressure but I could care less.

"You wanted to kill her because you thought she was a spy?" I frowned, staring at Alexis whose knees were now bleeding because of the blood.

"Yeah, Alpha..." Alexis shuttered as she managed to say.

"And who gave you the order to kill a spy?" I frowned.

"I..." Alexis shuttered as she didn't know what to say.

"Tell me, who gave you the order!" I barked, subconsciously increasing the pressure I put on her.

"Argh..." Alexis screamed in pain as her knees press further into the hard floor and the blood flowing out from it increased.

Seeing this, my heart softened a little and I removed the pressure on her.

"Tell me, even if she wants to be a spy, why didn't you ask the guards to arrest and throw her into the dungeon then call me to look into the matter?" I frowned, staring intensely at her.

"I..." Alexis shuttered not knowing what to say.

"You were afraid of what?" I frowned as I caught onto what Alexis wanted to say.

"I..." Alexis shuttered again as she lowered her head in embarrassment.

"What do you think I would have done if you had killed her before I arrived?" I frowned, staring at Alexis trying not to be angry.

"Huh!"

Alexis froze upon hearing my question. I knew she was wondering why I was asking such a question.

"I don't know what you would have done," Alexis replied.

I glanced at Alexis and considered that the fear I had instilled in her was enough. I could see the fear in her eyes after having berated and punished her. I wouldn't have done this if she hadn't tried to kill Megan.

Alexis was someone I doted on and most of the time I let her exercise her authority in the pack without saying anything no matter what she did as long as she didn't cross the line. I didn't know what u were enraged when I saw what she did to Meghan.

Well then, I was surely feeling remorse as I felt what I did was right, she had touched on my boundary and she wasn't going to be let off that easily.

"I wouldn't want to see this next time." I frowned, turned around and carried Megan who had fainted in a bridal style.

"Yes, Alpha," Alexis replied.

I could feel the lingering fear in her voice which made me smile a little. I was sure she had never seen me this angry so she was a little bit scared. Well then it was all okay, as long as she didn't cross my boundary, she wouldn't see this side of me anymore.

Without saying a word, I turned around and left the place while carrying Megan. Deep down I was hoping she hadn't sustained any injuries as I knew how terrifying Alexis's strength was.

She was very strong which was why she was worthy of being my beta. I was sure that Megan would have sustained some injuries.

"Get the royal physician," I ordered one of the maids I met on my way.

"Yeah, Alpha." They bowed and rushed off to do my bidding.
