4. Alpha's Secret Revealed

DAMIAN

Rachel looked at me, who had just returned. She was still in the room at my request. Obviously she was smart enough to listen and obey my commands. I quietly closed the door, then walked over and sat down beside her.

"So? What did you want to say before? I was very curious and waited for you here," Rachel said as she touched my arm with her gentle hand.

"Don't be surprised," I stopped my words as I looked at her deeply. "And don't leave me, because there's something important you need to know. I love you very, very much, which is why I chose you to be my wife. But there is one fact you should know," again I didn't finish my sentence immediately because I wanted to see the change in her face.

Rachel listened intently, raising half an eyebrow and waiting for me to finish. She had no intention of saying anything first, which made me sigh quietly. "The fact that you're not really my mate."

Rachel looked shocked, covering her mouth with both hands. It was as I expected, but before that she walked away, leaving me with all sorts of bad thoughts. I quickly explained. "Help me, I can't tell them the truth about my real mate. I don't love him, I just want you to be my mate."

Rachel nodded slowly, giving me a sharp look. "Then tell me who your real mate is and why you chose me as your mate. I have loved you from the first moment I saw you, Damian. But I know that you and I don't have a mate bond. It's just that I'm confused and feel naive to think that what you're saying could be true.

I saw that Rachel was hiding her fists. She was probably trying to calm herself by accepting this fact. "I'm sorry if I'm being selfish. He is your servant, Nadlyn."

And again she looked at me in shock. Her eyes flashed with anger. "Nadlyn did you say?" Rachel half snapped in my face.

I immediately covered her mouth with my right hand. No one was to know about this. "Please don't tell anyone, Rachel. You are officially my wife and you will always be my Lun. Even if you already know who Nadlyn is, she means nothing to me. She remains your servant. But I still need her for my needs, but you are her guardian, you have the right to do anything, because they only know that you are the real Queen Luna".

Rachel removed my hand from her mouth and I made her stand up and turn her back to me. She had every right to be angry, but I wasn't going to let her get away from me. "I had hoped that you were my true Luna, but at the time I couldn't find the scent on your body. I have no choice but to make you my wife, I can't possibly say that my Lunaku is a servant, and this is your personal servant". I tried to tell the truth, I wonder if Rachel will still be angry with me.

Suddenly Rachel turned and looked at me and I quickly stood up so we could have a closer look. I didn't expect to see a pool of tears in Rachel's eyes. Was she trying not to cry? I could tell she was in pain.

"Are you using me?" Rachel asked in a heavy voice.

"No!" I argued, pulling one of her hands and gripping it tightly. "Listen to me..."

"It's obvious you're using me because you're ashamed of having a mate who's a waitress. You lied to everyone, you even lied to my father, Damian! Why didn't you tell me from the start? If you had told me from the start, I would have let her go with you. I don't care, because taking his place makes me feel like I'm falling, and I can do my duty as the next Alpha in Lexington to replace my father."

"No Rachel, I don't want to! I'm really not using you, and to be honest I've rejected the destiny given to me by the goddess Artemis, what kind of joke is that? My mate is just a servant? He doesn't deserve to be with me, only you deserve to be my Queen Lun, because I love you too, Rachel. Not this servant of yours..."

'Shattering!'

My words were suddenly interrupted as we both stared at each other, hearing the sound of something falling from outside. We immediately silenced each other and rushed out of the room to see who it was. No one was to overhear our private conversation as it involved my real mate.

NADLYN

After tidying up my own room, I immediately went to find Alesya to ask her about the many things I could do on this ship. There was no way I could just stay in my room and wait to do something when Lady Rachel told me to. Besides, I can't just go into Lady Rachel's room at the moment, she's sleeping with King Damian. Obviously they had more privacy and were more intimate.

"How long have you worked for Queen Luna?" Alesya asked curiously, walking beside me and introducing me to some of the servants on this ship.

"Um, about three years," I said after remembering.

Alesya laughed and I frowned in surprise, especially when she looked at me. "It's okay, I've only heard a little about it." I don't know what she meant, I don't understand. But he was reluctant to talk about it any further.

"Well, since we already have full servants here, according to their jobs, I don't know what to tell you. They are all half-human wolves like you, they can't turn into full wolves. They are here because they work, their mates are wolves. But there is one who works and does not have a wolf mate here, he is a wyvern controller". Alesya led me to the deck of the ship, I could see a man stroking the back of a female dragon that he was feeding.

"Keenan, are you busy?" Alesya greeted Keenan, stopping the man's activity for a moment.

She turned and looked at us with a sweet smile. She is a human like me. I hadn't expected to find a pure human here, even though I'm used to living among wolves, but being among strangers gives me the shivers. I felt like I was being watched by some male wolves, but they just smiled a little. Maybe it was because I was walking with Alesya.

"Not so busy, what's up Alesya?" The man called Keenan asked. He was tall and lanky, his skin was tanned, his hair was straight and jet black, but he was cute because of his two dimples.

"I've brought a guest, this is Keenan. And this is Nadlyn. They are both human, so if you want to have a busy life and not be bored, you can help Keenan take care of the Wyverns by preparing their food. Keenan will teach you," Alesya said, and I nodded in understanding.

Keenan and I shook hands as Alesya excused herself to attend to other matters. We chatted a little about how I came to be here, then I asked him how he became a wyvern controller for the wolf people, and what country he was from. It didn't take long for us to get to know each other.

"I'm going to the kitchen to get some more meat, do you want to come with me?" asked Keenan.

"May I?" I looked at him with bright eyes.

"Yes, of course I can. It's all for the food stock later this afternoon," Keenan said as he walked off the deck of the ship and I followed him.

"I am sorry for the state of your face. Your life before coming to Lexington must have been unbearable, huh? We may still be able to bear the taunts of others, but when other people touch us and do things to us that hurt us physically and mentally, it's as if life has no meaning except to wait for death to come for us. Keenan said the truth that I once felt, I could only smile at that, then we arrived at the kitchen, someone greeted Keenan and told Keenan to fetch the ingredients for the wyvern food himself.

As I helped Keenan carry the food to the deck of the ship, I accidentally turned my head to find Damian and Joshua hurrying towards Alesya's room. He said that each of them also had their own workspace in their room.

"I have to go for a while after this to make Lady Rachel her favourite herbal tea, she usually wants it at this time," I said to Keenan who nodded in understanding.

"You can go, but before you go, wouldn't you like to try and feed one of those Wyverns some of that fresh meat?" Keenan shouted, making both of my eyeballs go round.

"Try it, I'll be right by your side. They won't attack you because you're an unarmed human, they're actually kind." Keenan continued, giving me the courage to approach one of the Wyverns.

I finally decided to do as Keenan said. Although I was also curious, whether it was my gut feeling or not, I felt that they were watching me.

When I offered one of the meats to the female wyvern, the dragon brought its face so close to mine that I spontaneously closed my eyes.

"He likes your aura, look at the way he approaches you, he even looks at you while he's chewing his food. Try stroking his head, Nadlyn."

I immediately opened my eyes at Keenan's babbling, and sure enough, the wyvern was still looking at me. I almost recoiled in shock. It was looking at me with its big eyes, but it wasn't a creepy look. It was adorable!

'Hi. Aren't you scared of me yet?'

"What?!" I screamed hysterically, bringing Keenan closer.

"What's wrong Nadlyn, why are you screaming in front of him?" Keenan asked frantically, looking at me in turn with the dragon.

'Oh dear, I scared you, didn't I? Don't tell Keenan I asked you out. My name is, Sassy, Queen Luna.'

Honestly, I was completely shocked that the wyvern could talk to me. Or rather, I could hear its voice. I stared blankly at the dragoness until Keenan finally pulled me away from the wyvern and placed a hand on my forehead.

"You're not hot, are you, Nadlyn? I'm sorry if I made you do that earlier," Keenan said worriedly, which made me shake my head slightly.

"It's OK Keenan, I'm fine, really. I'm sorry for shouting and scaring you. I just didn't expect the wyvern to get so close to me. Like my boyfriend, I only had this fun because of you, so thank you. I have to go, I'll see you later when I've finished my mission. I left with quick and hurried steps, leaving Keenan still confused. I don't know what's wrong with me. I don't understand why this wyvern would say such a thing.

'Queen Luna? She called me that? I'm not Queen Luna, maybe he thinks I'm Lady Rachel.'

I pushed the thought away for a moment, my feet headed for the kitchen, someone asked what my business was and she happily helped me. After making the herbal tea for Lady Rachel, I quickly left the kitchen and made my way to her room, which was in the same room as King Damian's. I was actually a little afraid of disturbing them. But if I didn't want Lady Rachel to drink this, she would definitely be angry with me.

My footsteps stopped as I reached the door of her room. But before I knocked, I heard shouting and an argument between Lady Rachel and King Damian. I was afraid to disturb them further, but their voices were too clear for me to hear. There was no one else around because I was the only one who happened to be interested.

I wanted to leave, it seemed rude to listen to their private conversation. But I couldn't pretend that I didn't hear what was going on in there, what King Damian was saying, which demanded all my attention. Then there was the sound of the glass and the tray I was holding suddenly toppling over.

'Shattering!'

My eyes widened, I panicked and shook. I was trapped!
