Chapter 5

'' What are you stupid? Don't shout,'' Odin whispers into her ears trying to calm her down. '' Don't get so worked up that you will regret it later. Calm down.'' 

'' Hey, did you hear a noise coming? It seems to be coming from behind the rocks. Let's go check it out,'' Grace said to Hazel. '' Oh no they are coming this way,'' Rain looked at Odin's response. Odin just smiled. 

Grace told Hazel to go from the other way and she will go from the other way. Leah was now holding onto Bella from shouting. They walked slowly enough not to let them hear. 

'' Bam,'' Grace shouts to surprise them only to be disappointed. There was just a wooden log there along with one frog. Hazel picked it up in her hands. '' So this fellow made noise and you mistook it for Rain? How much stupid you are Grace.'' 

'' I felt her presence that's why. Don't blame me here. But there is no sign of her. Where's our lady?'' Grace was roaming her eyes here and there to look for her. '' She's not here,'' Leah added.  

'' Rain,'' Bella shouts again. '' Where are you?''. '' Hey shut up,'' Leah snarled at her with a slap on the cheek. At this time Rain and Odin were now hiding behind the bushes. They managed to escape from there in time. 

This time Rain was in the laps of Odin her back facing his chest. She was trying to suppress her heart which was crying for her friend Bella. After a while, they decide to head back. They took Bella away from there too. 

Seeing that there was no one there Odin lets go of her. '' They have left,'' he said. '' Bella, They were torturing her because of me. I can't accept that,'' Rain bursts out in tears now. 

Odin was not able to understand how to calm her down now.  '' Don't cry, none of this is your fault here. It's because of the hierarchical society we all are living in.'' 

'' But what will you do now? Go back? I don't think you will be safe there any longer. You should leave the pack,'' he advised looking at her. '' There's no way I can do that. Bella, I can't leave my friend alone, and we can't get to because of the hunters. So we have to remain in this place no matter what. Thanks for your worry but I can't leave this place.'' 

Odin was starting to feel pity for her now. This kind of treatment is not done in his pack but it's not the same in every pack. He's not allowed to interfere in other pack's affairs. 

There's nothing for him to do here. For a while, he stayed by her side. '' Are you alright? Do you want to go back now?'' asked Odin touching her hand. She nods giving a smile back at him. 

'' Thanks for the help-'' she again saw a premonition. There was he and she walking together hand in hand in the field of flowers. This thought made butterflies flying in her stomach. 

'' Is there anything wrong ?'' he asked. ''Hmm yes, don't worry. I will, be leaving then. Thanks for your help,'' she said with a smile. '' We will meet again right?''. He had no answer to that question now. 

'' I don't know, but be careful of those women. It's not like I will be there all the time to save you will I? So be careful of them. I will be crossing the village border. Can you go back on your own?'' he asked. 

She didn't nod or reply. He was not able to understand what she was trying to say or do. Odin lets out a sigh. '' What's wrong with you huh? What are you planning?'' he asked grabbing hold of her shoulders. 

Then she replies, '' Do you think that you can stay till the morning? I am feeling afraid to cross the forest at night. So if you could, stay with me till the light comes up. Is that too much to ask? It must be, you must have work rather than staying with someone like me right? You can go, see you,'' she was turning away and leaving. 

It was at this time she felt him grab onto her hand from behind stopping her from leaving. '' Why are you going away without listening to me? I am not that busy that I will have work in the middle of the night. You can tell me what's wrong with you. Or if you want to talk I may listen to you. I am already feeling about your eyesight so this is the last thing I can do for you. So, if you want I will stay till the light comes up.'' He grunted. 

She could see the spark of hope lighting in her heart. '' What if you could live again? Then you would want to live your life to the fullest.'' Rain believed this quote to this day. This was told by her dad when she was little. 

Rain and Odin sit beside each other. Rain decides to ask him about how he grew up. He was not opening up to her at first but he did so anyway. Like that it was beginning to be dawn. 

'' So you remember all the books in your house? Then how did you lost your eyesight?'' he asked out of surprise. But she had already fallen asleep by then. Her face was leaning onto his shoulder. 

She was grabbing onto his clothes. Looking at her sleeping face he was feeling enchanted by her. He reached out his hand to touch her cheek. Her lips looked so soft and tender to him. 

But even though he could touch her cheek he stopped himself from doing that. '' Guess I will stay here till the sun comes up,'' he thought. '' What kind of trouble have I gotten myself into. It's so strange when I hardly like to talk with people. What's so special about her that's making me not leave her side?''. 

He stayed by her side when it was morning the left her sleeping out of the forest so she won't have to trouble herself any further. On the way, he said,'' It's not like me to be so caring towards people. Then why am I doing this for? I can't understand what's wrong with me.'' 

He looked at the morning sky which was looking brilliant than ever.
