The Serpents

  Caine and his crew had made it over the wall and back onto the furthest back part of the castle grounds. They crossed through the forest and into the pasture. It was getting pretty late and the sun was starting to go down, so Caine decided to duck off under a bridge culvert and wait for the darkness. It had also been a really long walk so far, and they needed to rest.

  "Let's go, guys," Caine said as he pointed at the bridge. "Excuse me, go where?" Georgio asked politely. "Into that culvert pipe over there," Caine told him. "Dear boy, but why?" Georgio responded. "Because we need to rest and wait for darkness to get any closer to the castle," Caine answered. "Good Sir, I'm not getting in that disgusting ditch in this six thousand dollar suit," Georgio protested.

  "That's fine." Caine said, "you can wait out here...alone." Caine told him flatly. "I'm sorry...alone?" Georgio questioned Caine. "Yes, Sir...alone," Caine said simply. "Well, on the other
