Chapter 57

Lillian Pov

I rock myself on the swing while painting the water fountain in front of me. That is the only thing to keep me busy before I go completely crazy. The only people I have been seeing frequently are Asher and the head maid that brings my food. I have totally shut myself out of the world, and I don’t wish to speak to anyone. It’s not that I am unable to; I just don’t want to, and I want to stay away from Ophelia as much as I can. I breathe out in relief as I draw the water, which gently falls down the fountain. The water is calm and peaceful; this is what I want, as only painting can help me out of my mysteries.

I am so happy Asher told me to get back to my hobby. I totally forgot I knew how to do this. I was so concentrated on my painting; I didn’t notice the presence in the garden. Someone cleared their throat, making me look up. I gritted my teeth, looking at the vile woman in front of me.
