"And you are here once more, priestess of the East."
Clairra swallowed hard as she raises her head. She was scared of the tomorrow without her looking after her people but this sacrifice that she's going to make is for her people. And to the soul that's from another world, she hopes she doesn't try to die in this era as well.
"I have decided," she stated. "I bargain my soul for that spell, Sage of No Name."
"Very well," he uttered, taking heavy steps towards her and stopping when he was in front of her. His finger slowly lifted and touched her forehead. A crescent moon marking appeared on her forehead but after a second, it disappeared. "Your lips are to be touched by the demon's lips and he will be under your command."
"Will it really work?"
The Sage of No Name slowly nodded his head. "Once you do, your soul will be bargained. You're wise. You would not show up in front of me if you had not found yourself a solution, priestess of the east."
"Of course!"
For the first time, the Sage smiled but it was a tricky one. "Very well. But be warned, priestess, the other world is so much different from our world. The soul you're about to use to keep your body unalive herself. She is bound to do the same with yours."
"I am gambling, as it is my last resort."
"You have been warned," he said and just suddenly snapped his fingers.
Clairra opened her eyes and she was back in her tower. Eyaren saw her and ran to her with furrowed brows and eyes that were red.
"Tell me you didn't do it!" Eyaren cries but all she could do was avoid her gaze and she sobs. "How could you trade your life? All our days together, you've been sacrificing yourself for the people! Why can't you think of yourself for once, Clairra?"
Tears came rolling down Clairra's eyes. She cupped her dearest friend's face and wiped the tears off her cheeks.
"I am a sacrifice, Eyaren. I need to save everyone and if not everyone at least you." She sniffled hugging her friend. "Take care of her for me and do not let her end her life. Teach her our way and treat her as if she is me."

As planned, when the moon was high above, Clairra went out and into a field of moonflowers. It was colder than the other nights but she needed to endure and get closer to the Demon King.
"Something is strange with you tonight, priestess."
That voice had alerted Clairra and she instantly looks at the tree. Slowly, the demon showed himself. He looked harmless but she knew he isn't.
"Nothing is strange," she replied. "I was not expecting that you would come back."
"You expected the least because I am a demon? Is that what you're saying?" he asked, tilting his head to one side. When Clairra could not affirm he stated, "So, what is it that you have planned for me, human?"
"I wish to marry you," she blunted which made his eyes grow wide. It didn't last long and he snickers, throwing his head back.
"You make me laugh, priestess. I see hatred in your eyes so why would you wish to marry a demon? Do you feel threatened knowing your arrows are no match for me?"
"Yes, I am threatened," she answers frankly. "If I can't kill you then I should make you some sort of an ally to me."
"An ally?" he scoffs. "You wish to marry me so you can attain peace in both our lands? Peace? What does it even mean?"
"It means no one is hurting each other." She inhaled and exhales, letting all of her guard down. If she was to die here, it is to save her people. "Would you agree to marry me, demon?"
"I was told that men are the ones to ask women for marriage."
"I am desperate for my people!"
"Then I guess you don't know about love, priestess."
He was about to turn away when Clairra suddenly grabbed his hand which made him dart his electric eyes at her. When Clairra realized what she did, she immediately let go of him, looking away.
"I apologize," she muttered. Never in her life has she held a demon's hand but the demon king's hand was warm. It isn't like what is said by anyone or in the books.
"You apologize? For what, priestess?" He lowered his head just so he could meet her gaze. Instantly she flustered and he smiles, moving back. "The moon looks beautiful tonight. I might as well give you the night and if you convince me, I might consider."
As the demon sits down on the field of moon flowers, Clairra couldn't believe what she is witnessing. He was not what she had expected and that was given but look at him! He is calm and is almost like a noble human who adores his surrounding. He was undeniably gorgeous.
One thing she's worried about the most is how to convince this demon to marry her. Should she act in love? No, that's a terrible idea. He knows by looking into her eyes.
When she glances at the demon, he was already laying on the ground and her brows instantly knitted together. He is so carefree.
"You're enjoying yourself," she remarks which made him look at her. "Must be feeling ecstatic knowing you have won and my offer is terribly baseless because you have my people wrapped around your fingers."
"It might be that you're thinking too much of it, human. Your head will start hurting," he calmly said, ignoring her outburst. "You've shown me what you assumed of me. And it upsets you because I am not what you expected."
The demon has a brain and she could not argue but there was no way she wouldn't look proud at all. While he lies down, she stands still with a grumpy look.
"Why don't you adore the night and not think of anything... just for the night, Clairra."
That was the first time she hears a demon call her name and he was no mere demon, he was the Demon King. The night was soothing even though they were enemies. Could this be what it's like to be at peace?
Clairra lets out a heavy sigh and sits beside the laying demon. She looks at the night sky and said, "It is indeed beautiful."
"This is one way to start what you humans call love," he spoke.
She glances at him but her eyes went wide when his face was so close to hers. But before it even started... it had ended.
Serra's POVTwo days. I've been roaming around my land for two days, sleeping in an inn with Mhel as my younger brother. I decided to leave the Farashas and learn more about my land. I have three more days at most to enjoy my freedom. I should make it count. "Mhel, are you coming with me to see that merchant? He said a new stock of elixir will arrive today. We better hurry!" I was done putting my cloak on but Mhel was still lazily laying in bed. "Alright, you stay here and I'll get those elixirs for you too."As I opened the door, Mhel stated, "Summon me when you're lost, my Priestess!"I rolled my eyes and chuckled, closing the door behind me. Breathing the air of the busy street of my land, a smile appeared on my lips. Everything seemed a little better now.The famous store was already filled with guards from the tower and nobles' servants. I don't need these elixirs but they come in handy sometimes. And so I waited in line to get inside. It took about forty five minutes just to s
Serra's POVI waited and waited for the old priest to show his self before me. As he appears from the doors, I plaster a smile to welcome him, his eyes wide like of his servants."Clairra," he called. No matter how much I recall there was nothing significant about him other than the pressure he put Clairra through, sending her happily to her death."Old priest, Heliu," I greeted. "I believe you have not heard of it yet... my name is not Clairra. I am Serra, the new Priestess of the East."All of a sudden, everyone started their little murmurs and the old priest's eyes flickered with anger. "May I remind you that changing your name doesn't remove the fact that you have aban--""You must be deaf, old priest." Everyone gasped. "Clairra never spoke like this to you, did she? She was always kind and respectful. You didn't know but, she traded her life for mine just to save her people. Consider me reincarnated... but ultimately, I am not her and she is not me.""If you are not Clairra then
Serra's POV"Where have you been, Serra?" asked Meade, one of the Farashas who took me in."I went to the other realm to visit a demon friend. My heart is at peace that I've come to know that she's doing alright.""And the demon King?" "What of the Demon King?" I asked Meade back. "Is there something that I need to know about him, aside from the fact that the past priestess was his bride?"Meade looked down and inhaled deeply before focusing those soft eyes at me. She forced a smile. "Dear, you must be tired. Why not go along and I'll call you for supper."I nodded and excused myself before the Farasha. Ascending the wooden staircase, I knew there was something more than me being the Demon King's bride. They just won't tell me. Asking doesn't help either.Pushing the door close behind me, I went to my desk, motioning my hand and the book on my table opened to where I marked it. I am the new appointed Priestess of the East. My name is Serra and my mission is to take back my land, s
Sarah's POVSix long months has passed since the purple moon incident where the Demon King returned on his own with blood in his hands. Nobody spoke, nobody dared ask for the expression on the king's face tells it all. From then on, there was no mention of the priestess. The sky was fairly blue when I started gathering herbs but now it has turned golden red. It was time for me to head back to the castle or Narth will get worried.Though the castle never looked alive, it had became a home to me. Narth was kind enough to take me in. Although, my herb gathering isn't a necessity, I've become accustomed to it. It's one way not to get bored in the big manor."Have you mistaken the sky as dawn, Sarah?" Narth asked while the maids serves us our dinner. "Did you sell out some herbs again?""My apologies, sire. I lost track of the time as I focused on another herb that I believe is in your book.""One in my book?""Yes." I nodded. "I'm yet to show you."He flashed me a smile and then turned t
Serra's POVI was dressed in a white yet almost purple gown that turns black midway. It has sparkles all over, a tulle for the sleeves and many more details. I was never good at describing nor knew of what is what called. I just know it's full of small jewels, shining and it was gorgeous. Where I came from, I always see gown like this worn only by rich people. Though they do not compare to the jewels in this dress, there was the likeness. "You look like a fairy goddess!" Sarah exclaimed when she saw me. "Oh, my priestess!" Eyaren cried, tears in her eyes. "I wouldn't want to let you go."A sweet smile appeared on my mouth. "Oh, you two!" I open my arms wide and they went to hug me. "I am only getting married. Nobody is going to take me away unless someone decides to kill me."Fear crossed Eyaren's face as she stopped unfolding the wrinkles of my gown. It was for a split second and she smiles. "No one will harm you, priestess. No one would dare."My mouth curved into a smile. "I
Zeirux POVTwo more night and everything will come to an end. On top of the castle roof, I sat, staring at the vast darkness ahead. There's nothing to see but towering trees. This has always been my view until I decided to visit the land of the humans disguised as one. Everything was monotone until I saw a glimpse of the priestess, her cheeks red from the cold night. Despite it, she remained beaming at everyone and since then she became the definition of breathtaking and life to me.I can't go back on my words just because someone's soul is keeping her body alive. Her soul's death was unjustified and if I could I would've executed all those who have pushed her into bargaining her life. After some time, I noticed the light coming from the priestess' room. My brows knitted together. She is usually with her posse at this hour."Hmm... it's not bad to check on someone," I murmured as I stand and used teleportation magic to get to her. Once I was inside her room, I thought she would hav
After dinner, Serra asked to be alone in her room. The memories of Clairra was like a montage flashing back to her. Although not everything was seen clearly, the feeling was there. Zierux and Clairra was something before she became Clairra. She also recalled how the priestess saw her from the water within that big clamp at the tower and how Clairra waited for the perfect timing. I was isekaid to another world as someone who already existed. I am not a priestess nor am I Clairra, but just a clone."Why would you do this?" Serra whispered under her breath. "I am not powerful like you. I'm just someone who have no idea what of this place.""Of course you've no idea, you're not the priestess!" A feminine voice Serra heard so she turned around. Her pupils dilated to see Marmi. It took her only some seconds to frown and realize, no, this isn't her bestfriend in the real world. Marmi would not wear such revealing clothes but this woman was stunning."Who are you?" Serra asked."I would lik
Serra's POVThe way Zierux treated me is the same as always. It was as if that kiss never happened and he's back to teaching me magic. Though it's better like this, I can't help but wonder what he's feeling."You're not focused enough, human. You're creating wools instead of gems," Zierux commented, his face remaining blank. "Focus so we proceed to another task. We've other things to do.""Like what? Do you have somewhere to be?" I asked with a raised brow."Since when were you curious about my whereabouts?""Since now." I gaze at him, arrogantly. "I dare to know of my future husband's meetings. I would appreciate it if you let me have a say in decision making."Zierux chuckles mockingly. "The spell you casted doesn't go beyond being someone I can't kill."It made me look away, pouting. It seems like we are still not that close for him to bring me wherever he is headed."That's alright." I inhaled deeply and flashed a sly smile. "I'll practice here so you could go and come check me a
Serra's POVI don't know what I was doing but it felt so familiar. His lips on mine were the softest that could brush mine. Why? Why does this feel like home?Regaining my senses was hard to do when I, myself, felt like I had missed this. I needed this. No matter if I was doing it right or not, I wanted its warmth so I returned his kisses. Until we ran out of breath and we stopped, resting our forehead on each other while his hand was still on my cheek. The moment I gaze into his soft eyes, he took a step back and I finally processed what we did. My cheeks were still burning so I looked away. Why did I do that?"I-I..."What do I say? Should I run from him? Should he say something?"Go tend your pet before I lose my mind and take you to my bed," he uttered. With those words, I immediately turned and stride inside. I didn't look back nor slow down until I reached a corner and hid. My legs were weak and so I dramatically fell on my knees.I couldn't see his face because he looked the ot
