Chapter XXII - The Night I Knew

Zeirux POV

Two more night and everything will come to an end.

On top of the castle roof, I sat, staring at the vast darkness ahead. There's nothing to see but towering trees. This has always been my view until I decided to visit the land of the humans disguised as one.

Everything was monotone until I saw a glimpse of the priestess, her cheeks red from the cold night. Despite it, she remained beaming at everyone and since then she became the definition of breathtaking and life to me.

I can't go back on my words just because someone's soul is keeping her body alive. Her soul's death was unjustified and if I could I would've executed all those who have pushed her into bargaining her life.

After some time, I noticed the light coming from the priestess' room. My brows knitted together. She is usually with her posse at this hour.

"Hmm... it's not bad to check on someone," I murmured as I stand and used teleportation magic to get to her.
