Aching Jealousy

"I like you, Melanie. Will you be my girlfriend?"

Melanie was too shocked to process what Evan had just said. Did he just propose to her? Her one and only crush and best friend?

Evan extended the rose to her more and uttered, showing his charming smile.

"I like you from the very second we had become friends but never had the courage to ask you out but now when you're turning 18, I want our friendship to become something more beautiful and endearing,"

A smile broke out on Melanie's face hearing his alluring words, after all who wouldn't like hearing all of that from their crush's mouth.

"We're waiting, Mel. Don't break the poor boy's heart," Kylie uttered, teasing.

Melanie smiled, widely and extended her palm to take the rose from him but a voice of something breaking grabbed her attention.

She tossed her head and her eyes widened by watching Adrian, who was practically glaring at Evan like he was going to murder him at any second.

Adrian got up on his feet and dashed out from there with a clenched jaw. Melanie became stunned at his behaviour, especially when her eyes fell on that broken edge of the table where he was sitting.

She took back her palm and stormed towards the direction, he had gone and Evan just gazed at her disappearing figure.

"Adrian, wait," Melanie yelled at him, who was hurriedly sauntering on the parking lot.

He heard her but didn't stop which made her angry. Melanie ran towards him and then grabbed his arm.

"What the hell has gotten into you today, Adrian?" She shouted at him.

"Did you turn deaf? I was yelling your... "

"Get the f#ck away from me," He snatched his arm from her forcefully, making her stumbled a bit.

Melanie noticed his green orbs had diluted. His ears had reddened. His veins had stretched out on his neck because of his tightly clenched jaw. He was looking barbaric.

"Rian... " She tried to step closer to him

"I said, get the f#ck away from me, Melanie," He yelled at her, making her flinched. He had never raised his voice so high at her. She felt extremely hurt.

"What happened? Why are you behaving like this?" Her voice sounded hurt and soft, which angered him more.

"Nothing has happened,"

"Then why did you leave from there like that?"

Her question pushed him to his edges. He took a predatory step towards her.

"Because I have no f#cking interest in watching your so called pathetic f#cking love story with your f#cking lover,"

Melanie was taken back by his comment. She felt more hurt but now was very angry at the words he used to address it.

"Stop behaving like a moron, Adrian Salvatore. Evan is a nice guy and I like him and if we're getting together then why are you behaving like a f#cking jealous a#shole?" She barked at him.

Adrian knuckles turned white the way he was fisting his palm, after hearing her. Melanie was also glaring at him but then he started chuckling, hoarsely which made her confused.

"Jealous? From you both being together?" His eyes had reddened. Now he was looking more deadly.

"A girl like you would even if sold her f#cking body, soul and heart to me I'll still not fall in love with her,"

Never in her worst, Melanie had ever thought he would say something like this to her. She clenched her palm and stormed towards him.

A loud voice of slap echoed, as Adrian felt his head tossed and his cheek started burning.

Melanie slapped him with every might of her being and yelled.

"You know what, Adrian Salvatore? I used to think you're not what you show yourself from outside to everyone,"

Adrian tilted his head and saw her hazel eyes were now glistening with tears of anger, hurt and rage.

"That's why even in your worst doings, I had supported you, going against every damn person but now I understood, everyone was right when they used to tell me that you're f#cking b#stard who loves to play with people's emotions. You're not just worse from outside but from your heart, you're more pathetic and selfish," She shouted at him.

A tear slipped down from her cheeks.

"I know you hate me but I never knew that your hate is so venomous to the extent that you will feel jealous and insecure of my happiness. That you will want to wreck my happiness in your f#cking selfishness,"

He wordlessly gazed at her as more tears rolled down from her eyes. Melanie wiped her face and exhaled heavily.

"You can leave. I'm sorry for forcefully taking you here but don't worry from now on, I don't want or need anything from you. I won't force you to do anything for me because... " She halted. Her teary eyes remained glued at his.

"I f#cking loathe you and you said you'll never fall in love with a girl like me then get that f#cking shit inside your head that a girl like me would kill herself before falling in love with a boy like you, Adrian Salvatore,"

She aggressively wiped her face and then turned around and he just stared at her going inside that restaurant again, which made a lone tear to roll down from his cheek.
