Chapter 17: A Not So Welcome Greeting

Sure, I wasn't fond of my brother, but I didn't want him to die at the hands of Khione's sister. 

"This way!" Evette shouts, then pulls my steering wheel, "Hey-Now! You're going to make us crash before we get to him."

"Then turn!" she shouts, "Alright, alright!" I swat her off.

As we park, Evette nearly jumps out of the car, "Geez, woman," I turn the car off and race after her. Soon we're in the darkest part of the forest.

"This gives me the creeps..." Evette says, wrapping her arms around herself; I gently lay my hand on her lower back, "Let me go first."
