Chapter Five

"Oh shit." Axel muttered as soon as he looked into her eyes. He saw how dilated her eyes were. In seconds he saw himself.

His wings! He gritted his teeth and shook his head, his veins grew and popped out. "What's going on?"

The sky turned red immediately. "Shit" He grunted and placed his tongue in his teeth, he held a fist immediately..

"Why am I twitching?" He pondered to himself while he ignored Jasmine. He knew his powers were acting up but he didn't know why or what caused it.

Axel had never been this dumbfounded, at least not since the first time that he found out about his wings. He finally paid attention to Jasmine.

He saw how she staggered and paused. Her words failed her, her mouth moved but not a word came out.

"Fuck!" He growled.

Axel closed his eyes and calmed his nerves. He took his breath slowly, at that moment his wings disappeared.

He sighed for relief and looked at Jasmine. Speechless and horrified. Jasmine didn't know how to feel, she had terror written all over her face. Her jaw dropped so hard.

"Hey, relax." Axel finally said a word when he composed himself, he couldn't deny it, he wasn't himself. Something was wrong somewhere.

He took some steps closer to her but she took steps backwards, she stretched her hands to block him. Her hands shook; her body had goosebumps all over. Terror! He felt how scared she was. Her legs shook.

"Re- relax?" Her eyes widened in fear. She didn't believe what she had just heard. She gasped and used her hands to cover her mouth.

She finally got a hold of herself, she stared into his eyes. She became calm.

He did something to her, the third time this night. She became calm immediately.

"I am supposed to be pissed at you, why am I calm?" She asked with a solemn tone, she felt calm. Her nerves lowered and her rage did too. Her eyes that had fire in them went off. The cold stare became warm.

Puzzled at why she was calm, Axel smiled softly. "Finally, we can talk." He whispered underneath his breath but she didn't hear him.

"I understand, now I can explain." Axel said as he took two steps forward.

"Stay back you monster!" She yelled off and took steps backwards. "Don't you dare come close or think about talking to me." She screamed and stomped her legs.

Her rage couldn't be contained or held, the night sky changed back. Her home, they appeared there again.

"Arhhhhh" Jasmine screamed when she realized they appeared back in her home.

"Damn it." Axel realized what was wrong. He rolled his eyes and looked at Jasmine.

"Do I have to explain?" He widened his eyes at the thought that he /would have to lecture and explain to Jasmine what had happened.

"Why didn't the spell work on her?" He asked as he stroked his chin. Jasmine, who sat on her chair, was scared. Her legs shook but she seemed to be raged.

"Look at me! What the hell are you? Who are you? What do you want from me? Why are you messing with me?" Jasmine vocalized in a raged tone, in just one night of meeting the said man, she has been on a roller coaster of emotions.

She leaped up, a sudden power boost she had. "Okay, if you can just calm down and let us have a talk." Axel declared with a firm fist. His legs apart and his words were simple yet with a cold tone.

"A talk? You made us appear and disappear! You did something to me but now you want to talk? How does that work, can you explain?" Jasmine didn't understand where she got her strength to argue or even Clapback at the man in front of her.

"Hades, call me by my name." Axel ignored her question and walked up to her.

"Something definitely is wrong with me, something is definitely wrong somewhere! I need to go back to hell and check things out, this has never happened before." Axel who walked in steps said to himself.

He had a straight face.

Jasmine stood inches away from him. Her arms folded, her eyebrows were raised so high. She felt the highest surge of emotions from her. Her anger, the rate at which her blood boiled and every sound in her home. He heard them all.

"Okay! Hades! Answer my questions!" She whispered into his ears. The chills he felt went straight into his head.

"Okay, I'll give you my word. I will answer all your questions, provided that you sit down and you listen to me." Hades gave his conditions.

"Okay, tell me!" Her rage didn't subside for a moment.

"Fuck this!" He grumbled and grabbed her by the neck gently, he choked her slightly and whispered a chant into the air.

"Arrrg" She yawned and said "I am sleepy."

"Yes, I know you are." He replied to her as he lifted her in bridal style.

Her room, painted in white with dark roses. He fixed the light the previous night, she slept in darkness for months now drained in liquor.

"Now that's settled. I need to find out why I am glitching." He placed Jasmine carefully on her bed, he stared at her. He dusted his body and stood erect. He stood over her bed.

"What is she doing to me?" He bit his lips and questioned, he felt a sudden attraction that he had never felt before.

He watched her everyday but he never got tired of her beauty and how simple she was. His arms behind his back.

"Her soul is drawing me to her." He started and he felt a wave of deja vu.

A drained soul she was, The devil himself was who she attracted.

******************

"What the fuck has been going on here?" Axel yelled at his henchmen as he barged through his office door. The rage he felt doubled as he crossed over to hell. He glared at his demons. He suddenly felt hot. "Call in my men." He ordered, he took off his tie with one hand and flung it. He fumed and headed to the mini wine shelf. He placed a toothpick in his mouth.

"I need to know what happened to me." He grabbed his favorite bottle of liquor. "Daydream" A hot chocolate drink. He tasted it for the first time, fifteen years ago. He stumbled upon it the day the company launched itself.

He met with the owner in Italy, the culture of having a mini party to celebrate the unveiling of New wines, they had a little chat and wine tasting, amongst the wines he tasted; Daydream captured him.

He paid attention to the company for ten years without fail, sadly the owner passed on. Axel bought the company immediately and made sure the company didn't change its formula or played any games.

He took off his shirt, Axel opened the drink with his hands and poured the drink. He gritted his tooth.

"Something is wrong somewhere!" He fumed and rested on his table, his legs crossed as he awaited his demons. The first conversation he had with Jasmine was one hell of a ride.

He placed the glass bottle and replayed the whole event with Jasmine.

He closed his eyes and crossed his arms, his glass still on his left hand.

"You called sir." A demon walked in aimlessly, he opened the door without regard, his hair looked messed up and rough. Axel was a disciplined man who hated flaws and mistakes. He sighted the rough looking demon and was disgusted at him.

"Who is this man?" He blurted out and threw his glass at the wall.

The demon shrieked and left out in shambles.

"Get me a better demon." Axel grunted as he spoke. He threw his head backwards and kicked his foot.

Axel needed to talk to his council and have a session with them, there are moments when he consults them for matters that need urgency and today was not different, he had to talk to understand why he was glitching.

He left his table and went on to grab the big bottle, it was just a few hours to midnight, his room was quiet. Very quiet everyone knew he was around. He couldn't care less, he just wanted to be sure the jobs were done and the sinners were punished accordingly.

"I am here." Another demon who had a tattoo on his forearm, walked in. He had an eyepatch on one eye and the other he used for sight. A small lightning tattoo was drawn on the eyepatch. A shapeshifter demon he was. The one below the devil.

Wesley; Axel's right hand man.

He walked differently and bowed immediately to the boss. Axel raked him and looked away, he wasn't ready for any medicore jokes or games. He had better things to deal with.

Asides his personal business, there was a prisoner who needed to be dealt with; A rapist who had no reason for his deed.

Sinners like this always made Axel pissed to his roots.

"Finally, now what happened to me? I already sent all the details to you already." Axel stated as he walked side by side with his right hand man, his shirt wasn't buttoned to the top. He rolled up his sleeves moments ago when Wesley walked in.

"I actually don't have an explanation for this but what I can say is this. That girl definitely has a hold on you, the human girl that you watched everyday. I think her soul called you out; it might not make sense right now but you guys are connected in some way, you did say somethings the spells don't work on her?" Wesley asked with so much passion even if he barely knew what to reply.

He walked into his own office, filled with books and records that are dated as far back as fifteen centuries ago, they weren't dusty, they were always republished and redesigned.

"No, they worked but they didn't work a hundred percent on her." Axel replied as he folded his arms. He closed his eyes to access the whole night again. He paid attention to every detail.

"Yes" He blurted out when he realized another key factor. He had just remembered something he skipped a long while ago. He just found out something.

Wesley raised his eyebrows up to show interest as he waited on what Axle would say. Curious he was.

"What?" Wesley, who had his hands in a book, paused.

"We teleported from her room to the park and that wasn't my doing! The second time we teleported back into her room; that wasn't on me either. She was angry the second time." Axel remembered the key detail.

"Okay, now that's something we need to access. You and I are the only ones that can teleport and if she was some hybrid, we would have discovered her long ago." Wesley closed the book and sat down. He sighed and removed the imaginary glasses.

"Yes, we should have. She isn't a demon; I confirmed that." Axel gritted his teeth and stated he hated when Wesley didn't have the answers he was looking for.

"Is that a hundred percent because I can't explain exactly but whenever you are in a close proximity with this said person, you lose control of your powers." Wesley added and placed his hands on the table.

"I don't lose control of my powers, that's fairytale" Axel comported when he assured himself that he wasn't slacking

"I wouldn't say lose control of my powers, it's more like they listen to her and not me." Axel explained oddly as he tried to make some sense, Wesley isn't buying that.

"And yet they are your powers? Are the words of the old soldier coming to pass?" Wesley asked as he crossed his legs and looked into Axel's eyes.

"Oh forget that nonsense." Axel declared as he glared his eyes and rolled them.

"I have been meaning to ask, what drew you close to her?" Wesley asked a question, a question Axel couldn't answer. A question sure that would provide the answers to why he had been glitching the moment he stepped into her house.

Axel felt tensed, he raked Wesley and teleported.

He appeared back in her room on his feet, he needed an answer and only she had it.

He turned and asked her immediately without pause or a moment.

"Are you human?"
