Werewolf

Survival Game

Luna

Betrayal

Hidden Identity

For three years, Elena was the proud, fiercely loyal Luna of the Bloodstone Pack. She managed their finances, secured their borders, and quietly made the ultimate sacrifice—taking the public blame for being "barren" to protect the crown and pride of her husband, Alpha Garrick, whose secret sterility would have invited a coup. Elena endured the pack's cruel whispers and humiliating fertility rituals, believing her love and loyalty would keep them whole. She was wrong. Blinded by his own ego and desperate for a legacy, Garrick breaks the ultimate taboo. He brings a manipulative, low-ranking she-wolf named Tessa into the pack house to serve as a "fertile surrogate," publicly stripping Elena of her title, her bedroom, and her dignity. When Tessa magically fakes a pregnancy, Garrick’s betrayal turns lethal: he brutally rejects Elena, exiles her from the territory, and leaves her to freeze to death in the perilous, sub-zero Outer Wastelands. But Elena doesn't die. She is rescued from the blizzard by Alpha Kaelen of the Midnight Frost Pack—a legendary, ruthless beast of an Alpha whispered to be completely heartless. But the moment Kaelen lays eyes on Elena, his inner wolf roars a singular, devastating truth: MATE. As Elena heals in the northern kingdom, two shocking truths shake the werewolf world. First, she and Garrick were never true fated mates. Second, within months of being wrapped in Kaelen's dark, possessive embrace, Elena falls pregnant with powerful Alpha twins. She was never the hollow vessel; Garrick was just never man enough for her wolf. While Elena steps into her true power as the revered, fierce queen of the North, the Bloodstone Pack begins to rot from the inside out as Tessa's lies unravel.

The Eclipse of the Unbroken Luna

Chapter 1: The Hollow Vessel

"If you cannot provide an heir, Elena, you are a Luna in name only. I need a queen to secure my bloodline, not a worthless, barren omega cosplaying in silk dresses."

The words cut sharper than a silver blade dipped in wolfsbane, but Elena didn’t flinch. She kept her spine perfectly straight, her hands clasped loosely in front of her as she stared at the man she had called her husband for three grueling years.

Alpha Garrick stood by the floor-to-ceiling windows of the Bloodstone Pack’s grand office, his massive, broad- broad-shouldered frame blotting out the fading autumn sun. He didn't look at her. He didn't need to. His voice, heavily laced with the crushing weight of his Alpha aura, was intentionally weaponized to make the air in the room turn to ice. The sheer dominance radiating from him forced the shadows in the room to stretch, demanding submission from every living thing in his presence.

"The elders are demanding a solution," Garrick continued, his tone chillingly casual as he poured himself a glass of amber amber whiskey from a crystal decanter. The ice clinked mockingly against the glass. "The pack is growing restless, Elena. A Bloodstone Alpha without a son is a target. The surrounding territories smell blood in the water. I have given you three years. Three years of expensive, imported doctors, of humiliating pagan fertility rituals, of endless patience. My patience, however, has officially expired."

Elena clenched her fists inside the deep pockets of her heavy woolen coat to stop her fingers from trembling. A bitter, suffocating taste rose in her throat, threatening to choke her.

Patience? He called this patience? He hadn't been the one forced to swallow agonizing, charcoal-black herbal cleanses that burned her throat and turned her stomach inside out for weeks on end. He hadn't been the one forced to sit stripped of her dignity in front of a council of ancient, gray-furred pack elders while they poked, prodded, and judged her bare body like livestock at a county market. He hadn't endured the snickers of the pack warriors or the blatant disrespect of the pack omegas who conveniently forgot to clean her quarters.

And most importantly, he wasn't the one carrying the devastating secret that was currently destroying their lives from the inside out.

Two years ago, a brutal rogue pack had ambushed their eastern borders. Garrick had won the battle, cementing his reputation as an unstoppable warlord, but it had come at a hidden, catastrophic cost. A rogue’s blade, secretly coated in a rare, dark-magic silver strain, had pierced his lower abdomen. The pack doctor, a loyal old wolf named Dr. Thomas, had given Elena the heartbreaking diagnosis in absolute, trembling secrecy late one night. The toxicity of the dark silver had permanently destroyed Garrick's ability to sire a child.

“If the pack finds out their Alpha is sterile, the rival packs will tear our borders apart from the outside, and the ambitious deltas will launch a coup from the inside,” Dr. Thomas had whispered, his hands shaking as he held the medical charts. “An Alpha must be seen as flawless. Omnipotent. A god among wolves.”

So, Elena had made a choice. Out of a fierce, blinding, and ultimately foolish loyalty to the man she loved, she had taken the ultimate fall. She had commanded Dr. Thomas to burn the real charts and write a falsified medical report stating that her womb was defective, that she was a hollow vessel. She became the scapegoat. She willingly let her own reputation be dragged through the mud. She endured the whispers, the sneers, and the cold, growing disappointment in her husband's eyes—all to protect his precious, fragile crown.

And now, he was using that very crown to crush her into the dirt.

"Garrick," Elena said, her voice remarkably steady, carrying a smooth, regal dignity that caught him off guard. "I have done everything you have ever asked of me. I have managed this pack’s entire economy, secured our winter food supplies, and kept our alliances stable while you fought on the front lines. I have given my entire youth and life to this pack. Is my loyalty truly worth nothing to you?" Garrick finally turned around, his dark eyes narrowed. The handsome features that had once smiled at her when they were teenagers were now twisted into a mask of cold, arrogant ambition. "Loyalty doesn't secure borders, Elena. Strong, pure-blooded pups do. You cannot give me what I need to keep this empire alive. Which brings me to my final decision."

The heavy oak doors of the office clicked open, the sound echoing loudly in the tense silence of the room.

Elena turned her head slowly. Walking into the room with practiced, dainty steps was Tessa, a low-ranking she-wolf from the southern borders. She had been brought into the pack house six months ago under the guise of an administrative assistant to help Elena with the harvest ledgers. Tessa was young, petite, and wore an expression of wide-eyed, fragile innocence.

But as Tessa caught Elena’s gaze, the mask slipped for a fraction of a second. A flash of malicious, intoxicating triumph gleamed in her hazel eyes before she quickly looked down at the floor, adjusting the hem of her tight, lavender sweater.

"Tessa will be moving into the master quarters starting tonight," Garrick announced flatly, as if he were discussing a mundane change in the pack's border guard schedule.

Elena felt the air completely leave her lungs, a sudden chill seizing her chest. "The master quarters? Garrick, those are the Luna’s suites. They have belonged to the matriarch of this pack for generations."

"And she will be fulfilling the Luna’s primary, sacred duty," Garrick snapped, stepping forward. His Alpha pressure suddenly flared violently, a suffocating weight that filled the room like lead, forcing Elena's inner wolf to cower deep within her soul in sheer resentment. "Tessa is fertile. Her lineage is clean. She has agreed to act as a surrogate to carry my heir, to ensure the Bloodstone name does not die with me. You will remain in the pack house, you will maintain public appearances for the sake of politics, but you will step aside. Tessa will have whatever she needs. Am I clear, Elena?"

Elena stood entirely still, looking from Garrick’s unyielding, arrogant face to Tessa, who was now subtly, deliberately rubbing her completely flat stomach with a smug, knowing smile.

In that moment, a sudden, terrifying clarity washed over Elena. The dark-magic poison in Garrick's system hadn't miraculously healed; Dr. Thomas had been absolute in his prognosis. It was physically impossible for Garrick to sire a child. If Tessa was so deeply confident that she could provide an heir, it meant one of two things: either Garrick was a supreme fool being played by a scheming she-wolf who was already sleeping with a secret lover, or Garrick knew the truth, and he was willfully using Tessa as a pawn to completely humiliate and discard Elena.

The invisible chains of loyalty that had bound Elena’s tongue for two long, agonizing years suddenly snapped. They didn't feel like a protective shield anymore; they felt like a noose. She had sacrificed her dignity, her name, and her happiness for a monster who viewed her as nothing more than a broken, disposable tool.

"You're making a mistake, Garrick," Elena said. Her voice dropped to a dangerous, quiet whisper that somehow pierced right through his heavy Alpha aura. "A catastrophic mistake you will never, ever be able to undo."

Garrick scoffed, turning his back on her once more to stare out at his kingdom. "I am the Alpha of the Bloodstone Pack. I don't make mistakes. You are dismissed, Elena. Go pack your personal belongings from the master bedroom. Tessa needs to settle in before the evening feast."

Elena stood frozen for a single, final heartbeat. Deep within her, her inner wolf, which had been suppressed, abused, and silenced for years, suddenly lifted its head. It didn't cower anymore. Instead, it let out a low, venomous, bloodthirsty snarl that echoed in the chambers of Elena's mind.

Let them play their little game, her wolf whispered, its eyes glowing an ominous, vengeful gold. Let them build their house of cards. Let it burn.

Without uttering another word, without allowing a single, weak tear to fall from her eyes, Elena turned sharply on her heel. She walked out of the office, slamming the heavy oak doors behind her so hard the glass panes rattled. The invisible countdown to the absolute downfall of the Bloodstone Pack had just begun, and she was going to make sure she wasn't there to save them when the ashes started to fall.
