LOGINSeraphina POV
I opened my eyes. Looked around, and realised I had returned, not as a child, as I thought I would. But as a grown woman. If I was right, it was the day my grandfather told me I was to leave my home and meet the man I was to marry. I must try to do everything the same as before. I didn’t want to worry my grandfather with the knowledge I had been reborn. So, I sat quietly, waiting for my grandfather to speak. I fidgeted, almost bending my fingers out of shape as I waited to find out what the future might hold. Even though I already knew. Finally, grandfather gestured for me to go to him. Once I was standing next to him, he reached for my hands. Although this man looked to be hundred’s of years old, his grip on my hands were as firm as they were when I first arrived at his home. “I promised you that I would take care of you, Seraphina. To uphold my promise I must send you to the mortal realm. It is becoming increasingly unstable here. I will not put you in harm’s way. I cannot loose you too.” The part said in grief, my father had disappeared when I was only three years old. Along with my mother. My grandfather had searched everywhere for them. But to no avail. After one hundred long years, he had finally given up. That was when he became obsessed with my protection. By the time I was ready for school, I already had two burly guards shadow me everywhere I went. When I reached puberty, my grandfathers behaviour had turned frantic. I tried to ease his mind. I began home schooling so he would know where I was at all times. I didn’t have any friends. What would have been the point? I would never be able to just hang out with them. Not lugging two protection guards with me everywhere. So I studied. I became fluent in all other realm languages. My grandfather took my schooling very seriously. His teachings led to a deeper understanding of our world. To a deeper understanding of me. He taught me how to be graceful under stress and to always appear elegant and in control. He also helped greatly when I started to train with my spirit tutor. By the time I was fifteen I had mastered control over, fire, water and earth. I didn’t need to learn how to harness the wind. It was my core power. Five days before I turned twenty-one, my grandfather told me I would be leaving our realm. I was being sent away, for my safety. And the safety of all who lived within the same realm. I was shocked, of course. Nonetheless, I understood. “I’ve been waiting for the day you would tell me I must leave. Please grandfather. Where will I be going? And how long do I have to pack?” He smiled at me fondly, though I sensed a deep disquiet within his soul. “Phina.” His eyes softened as he said his pet name for me. “I must send you too the mortal realm. It is where you will be the safest. No one here would even dream of looking for you there. You can be happy there. There is some magic left in that world. Mostly with its creatures. There are were-folk. Elves, and I believe they may have a few vampires.” I raised my eyebrows at the last one. “Oh come on, grandfather. What would I want with a vampire?” He chuckled at my words. Then his face turned serious again. “Phina. You must listen to me now. There is a werewolf above all other wolves. I believe he would be the most able to protect you. This Alpha must see you as his mate. It will instantly bring you protection. This is essential. Until our realm is stable again, and you can come home, you must refrain from using any of your spirit gifts. Do you understand? It is imperative that they only see a she-wolf when they look at you. Please darling. Do this for me. Let me have the peace of mind knowing you are safe, and happy.” I let out a deep breath, but only nodded my consent. Defeat was coursing through my veins. I hated myself for my complete lack of backbone when it came to this precious old man. Shaking my head, I turned to leave when he stopped me. “Phina. I am only doing this because I must. I do not like the arrangement either.” I bent at the waist so I could rest my palm against his wrinkled cheek. Smiling at this man, who was my whole world, I lent forward and popped a quick kiss on the top of his white hair. I had just reached the door, ready to go to my room and start packing when I turned around, remembering a question. “Papi, when do I leave for the other realm? Will I get to celebrate my birthday with you?” My heart sank as I watched his face fall. “You will leave first thing in the morning, Seraphina. You must meet the wolf before your birthday. And no later than that. This is essential for hiding your identity. No one in that realm can know our realm, or indeed the other realms still exist. To them,, we are nothing more than stories you tell to children. And it must stay that way.” “I understand.” Was all I said, before turning on my heal and headed towards my suite of rooms. I needed to process this. And do a small bit of research on werewolves before it was too late. I needed to know how I would go about severing the mate bond. Once I had enacted my revenge. The shame of the rumors kept me in my chambers. Until the evening of my twenty-first birthday. As soon as I came of age. The mating ceremony between Joseph and I was set in motion. As I had to act like a she-wolf back then, I had struggled at the beginning to assimilate. Not this time. No.“Your dancing is quite impressive, your highness.” He said begrudgingly. My face was turned away from his, so he did not see my smile of satisfaction.I finally turned to face him, our lips mere centimetres apart. I made a show of looking at his lips, then into his eyes. I licked my lips, and was delighted when his eyes tracked the movement.Almost at once, I could see desire cloud his eyes. Desire was never a problem for us. He had always wanted me that way. I was just too naïve to understand that having me, didn’t mean he wouldn’t have Victoria too.I came to understand why. It was all so he could get his heir. So he could steal the baby, and leave me dying in a pool of my own blood.I shook of
I could see the Alpha mind-link with someone. Soon after I noticed a tall well built man, easing his way onto the Dias. I knew him from my past life, this man was Beta to the current Alpha. His name was Dax, and I liked him immensely. The first few days of my past life, I found myself to be quite lonely. I hadn’t met Jessi yet. And was also told not to leave the pack house. So I never had the chance to visit with pack members, or make friends.Dax took it upon himself to show me around the sprawling pack house. He was pleasant. He even introduced me to his mate. Her name was Zoe. She was just as lovely as her mate. Unfortunately, due to the large number of cubs they had, Zoe was always busy at home with them. And I only saw her a handful of times more.I saw Dax whisper something to the Alpha, and watched as the latter clenched his fist. Just loud enough for me to hear, the Alpha ordered Victoria be sent to his office.I could also hear his voice lower when he asked where his son w
Shortly after Alpha Silas had explained the plan to us, Joseph arrived. Looking rather red in the face. His collar askew, a smear of makeup could also be clearly seen on his neck.I watched as the Alpha, who was clearly mind-linking with his son, scolded his behaviour. In my past life, when this had happened I had been visibly upset. Which made Joseph grin with smugness. Seeing my jealousy. This time however, I smiled serenely at the Alpha and his family. I wasn’t sure, but I thought I caught a small flicker of shock in Josephs eyes.*Good* I thought to myself. Not long after the Alpha and his family walked through the double doors, I spotted Victoria slink around the corner and attempt to sneak into the banquet. No doubt hoping to avoid the Alpha and Luna.My Grandfather also saw this. Just as Victoria tried to straighten her clothes, into some semblance of dignity, my Grandfather called out to her. Victoria froze. Like a deer in headlights. Her eyes darted here and there, probabl
“Of course.” I told her. Then settled myself on the bed. I gestured for her to continue speaking. “Your grace. I don’t know anything about dressing a lady. I work in the kitchens. Miss Victoria came to the kitchen late this afternoon. She pointed at me, then told me to report here to you. That’s why I am in your room, your grace. Nothing more than wanting to know if you require anything from the kitchen.” She finished speaking, and my internal smile got a little bit wider. I understood what was going on here. Victoria sent someone to my rooms in the hope I will look disastrous at the banquet this evening. I rolled my eyes, shaking my head. “Chloe. I believe that Miss Victoria chose you to humiliate me.” The poor girl looked like a deer in headlights. I saw her lower lip tremble. But she did not cry. Good. I needed someone strong. “Chloe. How would you like to become my personal handmaiden. I will show you the ropes myself. You will help me dress for this evenings event. Is that
The kiss was punishing. I was trying to deepen the kiss when I felt a sharp pain on my lower lip. I pulled back from her, and touched my fingers to my mouth, when I pulled them back I could see blood on them. “You bitch.” I rasped out. “Oh. You are going to pay for that.” She smiled seductively at me, and bit down softly on her bottom lip. That’s all it took. I released Victoria’s hands so I could lift her until her long legs wrapped around my waste. She could feel my erection, and started gyrating against me. “Is the big bad wolf, angry? Are you going to punish me?” The words left her mouth. Every word dripped with sexual tension. I reached between us and ripped her panties off, Victoria worked on my belt and zipper. I finally felt my cock land in her hand. She gave it a tight squeeze. “That won’t do, little wolf.” I rasped back to her. I lifted her up, then brought her down onto my aching cock. Victoria scream my name. I pumped into her, my movements almost frenzied. It didn’
Looking at my grandfather, I realised he knew who this girl was and what she had done. Though it was the massive blood loss that killed me in the end. I could still hear the foul words spoken. I could still feel the long silver knife pressed against my swollen stomach. I gave a small shudder, trying to push those thoughts out of my mind. If I had to re-enact everything, I was going to have to push my anger deep down. For now. The young heir spoke with the authority granted by his position in the pack. “I’m so sorry for the insolence shown by Victoria. I will make sure it never happens again. She will receive a punishment for this. I will personally see to it.” At his words, he grabbed hold of Victoria’s upper arm, and dragged her out of the room. A few whispers followed behind them. I could hear a few, and smiled wider this time. Knowing what I know? The whispers made sense. Apparently, most of the staff in the pack house knew about Joseph and Victoria. It was the hot gossip arou
