Chapter 22: The Return

Amanda woke up and realized it was morning already. She was very sore from all the walk since she left the den. She didn’t even have an idea where she should go. She’s been walking in the woods and there has been nobody in sight to help her.

She got up and adjusted her cloth. Her stomach growled loudly and she checked her bag for the remnant of the meat she stole the night before. She tore the meat aggressively and devoured it in just a few minutes. 

She felt something wrong with her system, something she has never felt before. Her bones were weak as she tried to get up and start her journey. She felt tears sprang up to her eyes as she remembered her mother. She didn’t know if she was still alive or not. And that gave her a reason to ignore the pain she was feeling and get up so as to locate her pack just like Laura said and get help. 

She held on to the tree she had her back to and pushed herself to her feet.
