Are you Erica?

Erica walked back to the couch with a smile slowly appearing on her face. She reached for her oat porridge and then took her phone in her hands staring at Aurelio’s contact on her phone.

“Love bug?” She clicked her tongue and rolled her eyes.

“Jerk!” She laughed out instead and kept her phone beside her then moved on eating her meal.

She finished up in few minutes and went to do the dishes. “Is he saying he wants to be responsible?” She thought as she returned the bowl she had used to eat in the cupboard.

“Why would he? What’s so special about me?” she thought and shrugged then walked back to her room.

She remembered Aurelio leaving with a plate of the avocado toast saying he loves it.

“I guess I’m a good cook too” she chuckled and strolled into her room, as soon as she was just few steps away from her bed, she jumped on her bed immediately spreading her arms and legs giggling.

“Why do I feel so happy! Goodness!!” she laughed as she sat up on her bed immediately.

But then she remembered when Aurelio said he got her address from a colleague.

“Oh my goodness! This is bad! What if they come find me?” she gasped . Her eyes were wide open and her mouth was wide open.

“Then I have to leave this place”

Aurelio had already gotten home and just stepped down from the car.

As soon as he got to the main entrance, he saw Rowan standing. Rowan saw him immediately and bowed his head lowly “Hey what’s up?” Aurelio spoke up immediately and tucked his hands into his pocket.

Steve and Wilson just walked to Rowan and also Aurelio.

“Welcome Sir” they said in synchronization.

Aurelio nodded his head in reply then sighed “Sorry for interrupting your moment with Erica sir, but you really have to see this” Rowan said

“and what is it?” Aurelio replied

“I think it’s best if we go inside, somewhere more private and talk about it” Wilson replied.

Aurelio began to wonder what could probably be going on. “Alright then, let’s go to my Office then” Aurelio replied and they gave way for him to walk through.

He walked into his house majestically and took his steps up the foyer with the guys behind him.

After few minutes, he got to his study room and stepped in immediately walking to his table and then he took his seat leaning against his chair with his eyes fixed on them.

“So what is it about Rolph?” he asked raising a brow.

“He has been acting weird lately” Rowan replied

“Yes sir, the other time you were talking with Rowan in your room, I caught him eavesdropping” Steve said , Aurelio sat up immediately and interlocked his fingers on the table before him.

“What?” he asked

“Did he see you too?” he added

“No Sir, he left after sometime before Rowan walked out of your room” he replied and Aurelio laughed lowly.

“I caught him too walking through your study right room, here is the CCTV footage” Steve said and handed the laptop to Aurelio.

Aurelio played the short clip and could see Rolph was just standing and walking around it like he was waiting for something, but then a phone call came in before he left.

He scoffed and sat back “what is this guy trying to do?” Aurelio smirked

“Earlier today, when Rowan went to see Erica in the chicken eatery.. a phone call kept coming in. He ignored it for sometime but when it became too much, he left the car to answer the call and didn’t return till Rowan came back” Wilson replied

“Sir.. I am suspecting him already” Rowan replied.

“did you try to know who he was on a call with?” Aurelio replied

“No Sir, We played cool” Steve replied

“hmm.. okay” Aurelio replied moving on his seat from the left to the right with a finger beneath his nose.

“Not too long he sat in the car too and didn’t come out till after few minutes” Wilson replied

“He thinks he is being smart, he has forgotten where he is, CCTV cameras everywhere” Steve replied

“If Rolph tries anything stupid sir, I will make sure I treat his ass” Rowan said

“you don’t need to tell me that, I will handle him my way… and after that. I’d hand him over to my Father, and then my grandpa” Aurelio smirked.

“bring him to my office immediately” Aurelio ordered and sat up clenching his jaw.

“I’ll go get him” Steve replied and left immediately

“ Sir, were you able to get along with Erica, I think we should have more eyes on her. We don’t know what’s coming” Rowan said.

“Yes I could, I got her number already.. expecting a call from her anytime soon” he replied

“Should we go surround her house?” Wilson replied

“ we don’t know who Rolph has been talking with, what if he is assisting Aryan?”

“Then I’d kill him immediately” Aurelio replied and not too long a knock was heard on the door.

Steve then walked in with Rolph beside him. Aurelio wore a smile on his face immediately.

“Hey Rolph, what’s up?” he asked him.

“I am really good, is everything okay boss? The atmosphere seems tensed up” he replied

“Yeah everything is, I thought something was wrong with you… lately you’ve been acting strange. Is everything okay?” Aurelio asked him.

“Your colleagues here said you were on a phone call earlier and you looked so worried. That’s why I called you here to hear from you” Aurelio replied.

Rolph looked at them firstly before he turned to Aurelio with a smile.

“Everything is sir, was talking with my brother…” he replied

“Brother? I thought you were the only son?” Aurelio replied and raised his brows at him.

“Yes I am, I meant my cousin brother Sir.”

“oh what happened to him” he replied and faked a smile.

“ His girlfriend is kinda sick, he’s been calling me and asking for money” Rolph replied and sighed

“oh I see.. mind if I talk to him?” Aurelio replied.

Rolph eyes went wide immediately.. he looked at Rowan then back at Aurelio.

“No sir it’s okay, we’ll resolve the issue ourselves. Thanks for your concern, I am so sorry if I made you worried” he said with a bow.

Aurelio clenched his jaw at him “Cousin brother? Girlfriend?” he thought

“Its okay then. You can leave…lemme know if you need my assistance” Aurelio said to him.

Rolph nodded his head before he left his office and then Steve turned to Aurelio.

“Sir.. I believe he is acting up”

“Same feelings here” Wilson replied

“keep a close eyes on him…I won’t spare his life if I find out he lied to me” Aurelio said with a stern look on his face.

**Hours later**

Aryan was seated by the swimming pool, he had a glass of champagne in his hands and in the other hand was a stick of cigarette.

He had a side smile on his face immediately he thought of Aurelio.

“Thinking you are smart?” he scoffed and looked down at his wrist watch.

It was just few minutes past 6, he has gotten no calls yet from Rolph.

He then picked up his phone and called one of his men.

“ Gather yourselves.. we are going right away. The earlier the better..the earlier the more it hurt him” he said with an evil smile on his face.

Meanwhile, Erica had packed up some clothes. She thought of spending few days in a hotel.

She had worn a black joggers on a black baggy and a black face cap on. She bent down to tie her lace and as soon as she was done, she stepped out of her room pulling her bag behind her.

She went into the kitchen and took some of the snacks she had packed up in a carton bag and kept it into another bag.

Erica walked to the living room and turned off the light switch before she stepped out of her house and locked the door behind.

She made her way out of the compound and stood outside her gate, it was already getting dark. She looked left and right and saw no vehicle except one black car that was parked at a far end with it’s light on.

Erica looked away immediately and sighed. No single cab passed and it doesn’t look like one will ever pass.

She had no other option but to walk a little down.

She held her phone in her hand and went to her contact, the first name she was *Love bug*

“should I just call him?” she laughed lowly and shook her head.

“No… no trouble, I am okay” she replied and immediately Rowan called her.

She swiped the screen and placed her phone on her left ear.

“Rowan.. “

“Hey Erica, how are you?” his voice came up immediately without hesitation.

“ I am fine.. you? Is everything okay?” she replied.

“I think.. where are you? Hope you are home Erica don’t open the door to anyone” Rowan said to her immediately.

“I am not, I left the house already going to a hotel now.. I don’t want to stay home for some reasons” she replied

“Where are you now? If you are far away from home that’d be really good. And if you are close to home. Go back home and lock your doors..I’ll cmw get you” Rowan said to her

“I don’t understand you Rowan. I haven’t gotten a cab yet, what’s going on?” she replied.

“Erica please just go back home” he replied

“fine” she replied and looked back at her house

“I already walked far away, gosh” she groaned and could see a black car drive to her, it was the one she has seen before.

“Are you Erica James?” she heard someone say behind her.

Erica turned around and could see a guy with a scar on his face looking at her and was obviously expecting a reply.

“how may I help you?” she replied and saw him raise his phone to his ear.

“She is the one” he replied and then she heard a car drive closer to her, she turned around and covered her eyes a little with her hands to avoid the reflection of the light in her eyes.

The car parked before her and then someone she has no idea of stepped out of the car with a black glass on.

“Well well well, look who we have here, the one unlucky Miss Erica” Aryan said as he got out of his car and took off his shades showing a smirk on his face.
