Pregnant

Erica was taken back to her house safely by Rowan. It’s been minutes he left her, she was seated on her couch with her legs on the table before her crossed.

“What a way to start a morning! I felt like I was almost being kidnapped! Gosh!! Guys” she clicked her tongue as she opened the pack of popcorn she had bought and began to munch them.

She looked down at the stuffs she had bought and then she sighed.

“It is to take this things now to where they belong. I am really tired to do this but I’ve got to” she groaned lowly and got off the couch picking up the nylon bags and took one to the kitchen to arrange the food and snacks she had bought.

Erica opened the standing fridge before her and filled it up with the drinks and bottle water she had gotten.

She walked to the cupboard and kept some packs of cereals she bought up there and kept just one on the cabinet.

The milk she had bought went into the fridge and immediately she remembered Rowan’s reply when she asked him about his boss.

“He runs a company and an organization” Rowan replied.

She didn’t ask him any question again but ended it there with a reply;

“Nice.. no wonder you all are dressed this Way”

Rowan expected her to ask for his personal details, probably his full name or something, his parents identity but she surprisingly didn’t ask any but kept quiet.

Erica sighed as she shut the fridge and stood in akimbo.

“What type of organization is that? They looked like bodyguards and at same time bouncers” she said to herself and then she left the kitchen to go to her room.

“What a relief i didn’t get spotted by anyone from the hotel, I can imagine the insults I’ll get from them. But how long will I hide here!” she slapped her forehead and kicked the door to her room open and went in dragging her feet.

She sat on her bed heavily like someone that had been working all day.

The popcorn was still in her hands and a can of drink was in her other hand.

“Home sweet home!!!!” she childishly exclaimed throwing her hands in the air.

Rowan drove into the mansion and went to park the car in the parking lot.

The car pulled to a halt, he turned off the engine and walked out of the car heading into the mansion.

He got to the main entrance with other of his men behind and then immediately, he made his way to the lobby room knowing fully well that Aurelio would be there instead.

Minutes later, he got to the door alone, other bodyguards were waiting downstairs.

Aurelio was seated by the piano, he considered playing a soft tune to ease the tension he was feeling.

He was dressed in a black long sweatshirt on a green long pants and wore a soft and comfy slippers.

He shut his eyes slowly as his hands moved on the keys but then a knock was heard.

Aurelio’s eyes went open immediately, he dropped his hands down the key and turned back.

“Who is it?”

“It’s Rowan sir” Rowan replied.

“oh please come in” he replied and stood up to sit on the couch.

Rowan stepped in immediately and bowed his head in greetings.

“Got goodnews? How did it go?” Aurelio asked him immediately and gestured him to sit down before him.

Rowan gave him a smile and that was enough hope for Aurelio.

“We met her today, funnily enough… she thought she was being chased” he replied

“Were you guys stalking her?” Aurelio asked with a ‘what!’ look on his face.

“Something like that, but be rest assured.. it went well as planned” Rowan replied and then took out the wrist watch he had around his wrist.

He stood up to get a laptop and placed it before Aurelio after inserting the SD card to it.

Aurelio kept watching him and everything he was doing patiently.

“I was able to record the time we spent together without her knowing, this is it here” Rowan replied and played the video for Aurelio to see.

He sat up immediately he saw Erica,

“Why is she dressed that way?” he asked him

“she was hiding from her colleagues and didn’t want to get seen..”

“Oh!” Aurelio mouthed and paid full attention to the video.

About minutes later,

He saw her listen to every part of Rowan story which he knows about to and us fully sure Aryan and his whole clan has a hand in it. Rowan has been with him for the past 4 years, he isn’t just a guard to Aurelio but a brother at the same time.

That’s part of the reason why Aurelio would stop at nothing to avenge the Darkhood clan.

“I was looking at my dad’s pocket, at that time he wasn’t working well, I was going to school at the same time with my sister and the whole expenses would be much, so instead I told him let her go since she really wants to go and I’ll work to support him, that man!!! He got so mad and that’s when the whole issue started” he heard Erica say pouting her lips and rolling her eyes.

“So she had to drop her education for sister…” he muttered and nod his head lowly.

“Yes sir, and she didn’t get appreciated but defamed, humiliated by her sister instead..and her family too” Rowan replied

“Exactly, I could not stay with them any longer with them there in Texas, they kept frustrating me on daily basis, you have any idea of how it feels to wake up and get insults from your parents as a good morning reply, I endured with them for some years but then I worked and saved my money to leave”

Aurelio had a smile on his face that his teeth could even be seen.

“I really appreciate your coming Erica, don’t worry… . We will get back on them together “ Aurelio smiled

“Confirm is she’s pregnant.. and even if she isn’t, I have interest in her already” Aurelio said with an ascetic look on his face.

Few days later

Erica had left her room immediately running to the bathroom to puke again.

She could not tell how she was feeling but all she knows is that she isn’t feeling well.

She had been having morning sickness for the past two days.

Was it because of her period?

Even the period, she hasn’t seen yet. Erica again began to throw up into the basin before her.

She struggled to turn on the faucet and washed her face immediately. She took some water into her mouth and then after bubbling up, she spat it out and laboriously looked at herself in the mirror, She looked traumatized since everything she had been doing recently was with great effort.

“Oh gosh what’s wrong with me? Is it because I didn’t go to work..since I have not been going I’ve not been feeling good” she said to herself

“Could it be period?” she paused

“Maybe it is making me sick…” she said to herself and let her head fall low.

On the norms, she doesn’t feel pain or whatever before her period neither get sick.

“Could it be my body is changing?” she asked herself then slid down her pants to see if there could be any stain on her pants but still there was nothing.

It was plain white, no single stain on it.

“Then what’s wrong with me!!” she yelled at herself and grabbed her head with her both hands.

She looked down at her breast and could see that her breast were looked swollen.

“Ahhh!!” she screamed immediately and grabbed it in her hands to take a closer look.

“I hope I’m not sick..I need to see a doctor!!” she screamed and ran out of the bathroom to her room as she fell heavily face flat on the bed.

With all she noticed about herself, she really needs to see a doctor.

“I’ve been urinating almost every goddamn minute..I really need to see a doctor but before then, I have goggle” she sighed as she turned her back over and picked up her phone.

She went to the search engine immediately and began to type;

“Is there anything wrong with me urinating frequently?”

That was her first question. And immediately there was a result;

“Several factors may be linked to frequent urination, such as: Infection, disease, injury or irritation of the bladder. Conditions that increase urine production. Changes in muscles, nerves or other tissues affecting bladder function” she read out and screamed out loud immediately

“infection! Disease what?!!” she exclaimed and immediately went to her g****e chat.

“Okay g****e! I really need your help right now!” she screamed

“Always here for you, how can I help you?” she got a reply

“I don’t know how I’ve been feeling lately, I think I missed my period, I’ve been urinating frequently, my breast is kinda swollen!!” she screamed

“Am I sick or something??” Erica panted

“No you aren’t, it’s simply symptoms of pregnancy, please visit a nearby health care center and see your doctor”

Erica felt like her head had been struck from behind and like a cymbal was played closed to her ears.

“Preg….preg what?!!” she exclaimed and threw her phone to the bed immediately.

“how—when—what day—since when!!” she asked herself and immediately she remembered that night in the hotel.

Her eyes went wide as she gasped and covered her mouth out of shock.

“I..I…”

She could feel her heart beating so fast and she felt almost breathless.

It was like she was dizzy at the same time.

And immediately….

She blacked out….
