Wow, that was not what I was expecting.

“You had an affair with the General’s wife?” I ask her incredulously.

“Are you hard of hearing?” She rolls her eyes as she says this. This is clearly a topic that she does not enjoy speaking on.

“I’m sorry for making you tell me.” I say softly and her face relaxes.

“Oh, you didn’t make me, Jaden. No one makes me do anything.” She says and she goes back to walking around the room and touching the walls.

If my mother was human, then how couldn’t I or the other werewolves sense her? It’s very easy to hear the feeble hearts of humans beating.

If a werewolf listens carefully enough, he might even hear the blood running through theirs veins.
