Confessions

She strokes my face and for a second, I bask in the feeling, but then I grab her hand and hold it tightly.

“Don’t touch me. All you speak of are lies.” I say to her and I let her hand drop as I put distance between she and I.

“Stop moving and fretting...you are wounded, remember?” Her voice changes and sounds more frail now.

She’s right, I am hurt. General Ross stabbed me in the belly, how could I forget?

And the crazy thing is that I am not even feeling any pain.

“You have healed outwardly, but your system is at risk. The poison from the blade has spread inside you.” She informs me, causing my eyes to bulge.

I look at my stomach and she is right, I have healed. There’s only a large scar on my abdomen.

“I feel quite fine.” I say to her as I sit back down on the floor.

“If there was poison coursing through my body, I think I would know.” I add and I scoff lightly.

“You don’t feel the effects because your system is fighting it off. You’re lucky, General Ros
