Mira’s POV

Calmly and slowly, I followed behind Alpha Sorren as he stormed out of the library with Khalid. I dropped the book back at the exact spot I took it before jogging to catch up with them.

They seemed very disturbed, and I did my best to stay out of the way because there was no way I could help. Just like he had asked, or probably stated, I am weak. Far too weak for my own good.

Alpha Sorren turned back to look at me when we got to the door post.

I pinned my gaze to the ground. He didn't speak, and I eventually had to look up to understand what was happening.

“You must look up whenever I'm speaking to you.” He growled, and I shook. His voice commanded so much authority that made me feel weak in my knees.

“Yes, Alpha.” I muttered, swallowing hard as I looked up, but not directly at him.

“Go back to the omegas. You will always go to the library with me whenever I'm headed there. Don't forget the things I told you to do.” He said, and I nodded gently.

“I won't.”

We immediately parted ways, but I got to take a sniff of his body just before I walked into the house. He smelled like strawberry, and then like vanilla, and then like lavender. I couldn't properly choose what he was exactly smelling like, but it was absolutely perfect.

Raina gasped as I walked into the omegas hallway.

“You're alive!” She yelped, walking over to hold my hands.

I frowned, taken aback that she was so shocked. “Shouldn't I be?” I asked, and she shook her head.

“Lady Selina barely ever asks for anyone to be brought to her, and when she does, it means she sees them as a threat.” Raina said as we headed towards my room.

“A threat? I'm just an omega.” I sighed.

“Well, she doesn't care.” Raina widened her eyes in a dramatic way and then made an unexpected turn into her room. I chuckled as we walked into her room. It was a little bigger than my room. Her windows were opened, but the curtains were down, leaving the room dark. She switched on the light and sat me on her bed while she giggled round the room.

“In case you're wondering why you're here,” she said just as I was about to ask her, “I'm going to show you what to clean in every room when you're asked to.”

Raina showed me the exact places to sweep and clean, mentioning every wolf's room, including Alpha Sorren’s room.

“Why do you call her lady and not Luna?” I asked, and Raina’s eyes widened again. She rushed towards the door to check if anyone was walking by outside before rushing back in to lock the door.

“You shouldn't speak of something like that speaking in normal volume.” She whispered, moving very close to me.

“Why? What's wrong?” I whispered back.

“She doesn't like it.” She said, and I swallowed hard. “Alpha Sorren hasn't taken her as his mate yet for reasons no one knows.” Raina whispered. “It's a relationship that strengthens the pack.”

“I see.” I sighed.

I was still worried about Alpha Sorren and how bothered he was about what Khalid had muttered to him. We left her room for the kitchen to serve lunch to everyone when we walked past the Strategy room.

Consciously or unconsciously, I slowed down to listen to what they were saying, and the only word that stuck as I passed by was ‘hunters’.

I was immediately traumatized as I walked past the place. Hunters have never been good news. And to omegas? They've been the worst. We're the easiest for anyone to prey on.

“Hey you!” A rough voice called, and we both stopped walking. I froze at the spot, and my chest started beating fast. I could feel sweat breaking out of my face as I had probably gotten in trouble again.

“Yeah?” Raina responded boldly, and I tried winking at her until I realized that we had different realities. I turned back after Raina did.

“No, the newbie.” The wolf responded. He was quite tall.

“Why her?” Raina asked defiantly.

“Because I need her to clean some place in this room. The materials are in there already.” He muttered.

“Why can't I do it? She has kitchen duty.” Raina argued.

“Well, take over the kitchen duty.” He snapped.

After so much back and forth, I walked into the strategy room while Raina left angrily.

“My name is Justin.” The wolf muttered, and I nodded gently.

The room was really cold, and they were all speaking that it almost felt like they were arguing. My eyes caught Alpha Sorren who was on his tab while they argued.

I could hear everything they said from the toilet where I was supposed to clean. I immediately picked up the cleanser and wore gloves to do what I was supposed to do.

Justin left me in the toilet and left.

“We can't fight them alone, and you all know that this is their first position of attack.” Khalid snapped.

“So, we are now reduced to asking for help?” Another person snapped, and the argument continued.

“This is what we will do, and it is final!” Alpha Sorren growled with a voice of authority as I finished up what I was doing. The room got very silent, and I also stopped what I was doing so I wouldn't cause any form of distraction.

The silence persisted, and I continued what I was doing. I left the room without hearing Alpha Sorren’s solution to the pressing issue.

I met up with Raina who seemed pissed at me.

“Just take your food and eat.” She hissed at me just as I was about to ask a question .

I didn't bother to pester her. I only carried my plate of food and hurriedly made my way to my room, avoiding everyone as I did.

I was bothered by Raina’s behaviour since she was the closest thing I had to a friend, and somehow, I have turned her heart against me.

There was a knock on my door as I finished up my food. I jumped happily on the bed with my butt still on the bed, happy that Raina had shown up.

“Come in.” I said calmly.

To my shock when the door creaked open, Alpha Sorren was the one walking in. The food I had digested somehow hung in my throat, making it hard for me to breathe as he stood before me in his magnificent figure.

“Mira.” He called, and I swallowed hard, barely looking at him.

“Alpha… Sorren. Erm…”

“I came to check up on you, and to also deliver news to you in person so you're not caught by surprise.” She said, and I swallowed hard.

He closed the door behind him, and walked further into the room. I stood close to the door as he walked further in.

“The Stone Creek pack is coming here.” He said, and I almost lost my mind.

I just got free of them not long ago, and they're coming back?

Will I ever be free?

  • The Faceless Luna   Chapter 17.

Sorren’s POV I walked around the room as Mark took care of Mira. We were about to leave the library when she suddenly changed. She had been stabilized, but Mark hadn't found a root cause for whatever was happening to her. “Alpha.” Khalid muttered, walking into the room. “What is it?” I asked, walking closer to him. “Lady Selina wants to see you.” Khalid muttered. I glanced at Mira’s body on the bed, wondering how she was feeling. Earlier, I just couldn't take the thought that someone else had made her laugh. It made me feel weird. I turned to look at Mark, who was checking her out. “Send me an update as soon as she's fine.” I demanded. “I will, Alpha.” he growled, and I left the room with Khalid. My mind was drawn to Nia and the dilemma she was apparently in. “What do you think I should do?” I asked, folding my arms as I slowed down my pace. Khalid took a deep breath, very knowledgeable about my relationship with Nia and how vulnerable I seemed to be around her. “Whatever

  • The Faceless Luna   Chapter 16.

Mira’s POV I watched Alpha Sorren drag Luna Nia away. Knots formed in my stomach, and I felt like vomiting at the sight, but I remained calm. I took the book I was reading the last time, and thankfully, I still had my pencil on me. I found a place to sit, wondering what business Alpha Sorren had with Luna Nia. I was using my pencil to continue what I was doing. I didn't realize that Khalid had crept in on me and was standing right behind me. “What are you drawing?” His voice jolted me, causing me to jump. The book flew out of my hands, and the pencil fell. Khalid chuckled as I grabbed the book and hugged it. “I'm sorry.” I muttered fearfully.“No, I'm sorry.” Khalid chuckled, walking closer. He had his seat beside me. “I startled you. What are you drawing?”I swallowed hard, unsure of what to say as I could be punished. “I'm sorry.” I muttered. “I can erase everything I've drawn.” “No, Mira.” Khalid rolled his eyes, making himself comfortable beside me.He stretched out his hand

  • The Faceless Luna   Chapter 15.

Sorren’s POV I spent the whole night on guard since the hunters didn't come close. Thankfully, Selina was at peace with me, nor bothering about the stupid words Harrison had uttered. My mind was filled with chaos, moving from Selina to Nia to Mira. Mira had the most time in my headspace. I was annoyed that she'd let her younger sister trample on her that much that she was so scared of her. “Alpha? Do you think the hunters would be back?” Peter asked, jolting me out of my thoughts.“Well, I think so.” I sighed, folding my arms. “If they don't attack tonight, it'd be because they know of Harrison’s presence.” “So, what do you want us to do?” Khalid asked, awaiting instructions. “I'll figure it out.” I said, like my mind wasn't already filled with thoughts of three women.“I'll stay on guard, Alpha.” Khalid whispered to me. “You should get some sleep.”“I will. I just need some fresh air.” I sighed.“Is it because Luna Nia is here?” Khalid asked, and I shot him a glare, forcing him

  • The Faceless Luna   Chapter 14.

Mira’s POV Alpha Sorren looked disturbed, although my current dilemma was being at that table, and the most horrible comment Alpha Harrison had made that'd probably put me in a lot of trouble with Lady Selina. “I'd like to excuse myself from the table to check out a situation.” Alpha Sorren growled, leaving the table. I started shaking my leg nervously as I stared at the food on my plate, unable to eat it. I thought about leaving since Alpha Sorren had headed out, but my legs were too weak. My knees kept shaking, and I couldn't even try to stand. “So, what do you think about the meal?” Lady Selina asked Alpha Harrison who chuckled and gave interesting compliments. I maintained eye contact with Arianna for a few seconds until Alpha Sorren walked back in. “It was a false alarm.” He said, taking his seat. He looked disturbed, but everyone kept eating. After what felt like an eternity of stirring food endlessly, I eventually left the table, and I ran straight to my room. I could h

  • The Faceless Luna   Chapter 13.

Sorren’s POV The faceless Luna made my skills look like a joke. I spent every sword strike trying to keep my head safe from all her attempts to kill me. She barely spoke a word and disappeared into nothing after almost killing me countless times. I had Mark, the Pack’s doctor , check out some of the injuries I sustained because they refused to heal as fast as every other wound. “I need to see whatever is doing this, because it doesn't seem normal any longer.” Mark sighed, shaking his head. And now, Alpha Harrison and a part of his pack stood before me. Nia was right beside him, and I couldn't help but look at her.“Alpha Sorren!” Harrison chuckled. “Thank you for letting us stay in your pack.” “Don't mention.” I responded.“You don't have to be so cold.” He rolled his eyes, moving over to hug Selina. Nia moved closer, looked in my eyes as she pulled me in for a hug like her mate had done with Selina. “Don't touch me.” I growled softly so that she'd be the only one to hear. She

  • The Faceless Luna   Chapter 12.

Mira’s POV Unable to leave my bed, I kept staring at the door, thinking about how to escape whatever Arianna and Alpha Harrison would throw at me. Arianna would definitely do everything to make my life miserable, and I might never be able to avoid it. There was another knock, and I shifted uncomfortably on the bed, imagining it to be Lady Selina. “Mira, it's me.” Raina’s voice came, making me calm. “Come in.”Raina walked in with her arms folded. She sat on the chair Alpha Sorren had just sat in. I hoped that she wouldn't catch his scent and then question me about it. “Look, I'm sorry.” She said, making me surprised. “I only reacted like that because I was jealous.” I almost forgot the pressing issue before Alpha Sorren came to deliver more bad news. “Because Justin told me to clean instead of you?” I asked, and her face flushed in embarrassment. That was the only thing I could think of since things went wrong at that time. “Yes.” She rolled her eyes, taking a deep breath. “H
