Sorren’s POV

Not so many things have made me freeze in my entire existence. The death of my parents was the only one that came to mind as I made my way out of the house with Mira behind me. I couldn't even breathe when I saw her. I guess I was just appalled by the amount of beauty she got from just a shower and a good night's rest.

Her brown skin was so perfect although there were scars all around it. She packed her hair in such a modest way that made it super attractive.

Immediately we got outside, I stopped walking, and she did too. I almost thought she wasn't even walking behind me with the speed at which she stopped.

Her gaze was pinned to the floor like looking at me would mean her death sentence.

“Look at me.” I muttered, and she looked up at me. I lost my words when the sunlight hit her eyeballs in such a gentle way. She had pretty attractive brown eyeballs that called out to me.

“Alpha?” Khalid interrupted, and I coughed to bring myself back to normalcy.

“You called for me.” Khalid said, standing in between the two of us.

“Yeah. Let's head over to the library.” I said, turning and we left. I hadn't even told her the main thing I wanted to, and now it was bugging me.

The library is my usual safe space, and I can be away from the madness everyone throws in the wolf world, even if it is for a few hours.

On arriving at the library, Khalid made his way to his part of the library since I never liked to be disturbed.

“Sit around and read a book.” Khalid said to Mira like he was the one that ordered her here.

Mira shyly took a book from the shelf, and slowly headed over to a corner of the room where anyone would barely see her, and she started reading.

I took my mind off her, grabbing the book I had been reading for a week, and I went in to my safe spot.

“Fuck!” I snapped after reading the same line over and over again, unable to comprehend what I was reading. Something was clouding my mind, and it was doing a very good job at it.

I decided to take a quick breath to gather my thoughts, and I somehow ended up closing my eyes to listen to Mira’s heartbeats.

Her heart thudded softly against her chest, but it hit at an alarmingly fast rate.

“What?” I muttered, shocked that she was still alive at that rate.

I moved out of the cubicle, and I made my way over to her. As I got closer, I could hear her feet tapping against the marble floors, and I could hear the lead of a pencil brushing against a soft surface.

I got closer, and I could see her nervously drawing something. Her hands moved faster than her legs tapped against the floor. It was very obvious that she was too nervous. I felt bad for putting her in such a position.

“Mira.” I called softly, and she looked up at me. Her eyes widened, and she hurriedly hid the pencil like I hadn't already seen it.

She stood up and lowered her gaze calmly.

“Alpha Sorren.” She muttered.

“If you value your life, you wouldn't tell Selina that you were my mate, even if it was for just a minute.” I said, and she nodded. “Don't ever make the mistake of mentioning it to anyone else, not even yourself.”

“I won't.” She muttered, raising her head up a little.

I felt irritated by how I felt so much pity for her.

“Why are you like this?” I growled, and she raised her head, looking very puzzled. The already dimmed light in her eyes dimmed even further.

“Sir?” She muttered, taking her eyes off me.

“Why are you so weak? What happened to you? Who hurt you? Who broke you?” I asked, annoyed that she was this scared. Not even an omega in my pack fears this much.

“Erm…” She muttered, and I could hear her breathing get faster. It annoyed me further that she was so scared even with me. She clung to the book she was holding, and I was beginning to feel bad for the book.

I took a step closer to her, and her feet shuffled as she wanted to push back.

“Calm down, Mira.” I muttered, taking one more step closer to her. There was not just about three feet separating us.

She glanced at me, and then pinned her gaze to the ground again.

“You don't have to be scared, Mira.” I muttered, and she sighed, still not raising her head. “You can talk back at anyone when you want to. You can argue. You are free to live your life by the rules.”

“Don't spend it being a scared little girl.” I said, and she slimed back into her shell. She cowered like she was entering a bigger shell.

I sighed as there seems to be no hope with her any longer.

“Go back to whatever you were doing.” I sighed, and she looked up at me again.

Those brown eyes, man. Those beautiful brown eyes. They were filled with pains beyond anything I could imagine.

I retreated and Khalid came downstairs just as I was about to walk back into the cubicle.

“Alpha, there's trouble.” He said, and my eyes widened.

“What's the problem?” I asked, and Khalid shook his head to signify that it was worse than I could imagine.

“There were sightings of hunters. Werewolf hunters. And they're getting closer to us.” He said, and I swallowed hard.

“What do they want?” I asked, looking sternly at him. “We've not had troubles with them in a while.” I asked like all werewolf hunters don't want the same thing.

“They have just one goal according to my source, and they're even more than they were in previous times.” Khalid said, and I sighed.

“Gather everyone.” I growled. “It's time to make tough decisions.”

  • The Faceless Luna   Chapter 17.

Sorren’s POV I walked around the room as Mark took care of Mira. We were about to leave the library when she suddenly changed. She had been stabilized, but Mark hadn't found a root cause for whatever was happening to her. “Alpha.” Khalid muttered, walking into the room. “What is it?” I asked, walking closer to him. “Lady Selina wants to see you.” Khalid muttered. I glanced at Mira’s body on the bed, wondering how she was feeling. Earlier, I just couldn't take the thought that someone else had made her laugh. It made me feel weird. I turned to look at Mark, who was checking her out. “Send me an update as soon as she's fine.” I demanded. “I will, Alpha.” he growled, and I left the room with Khalid. My mind was drawn to Nia and the dilemma she was apparently in. “What do you think I should do?” I asked, folding my arms as I slowed down my pace. Khalid took a deep breath, very knowledgeable about my relationship with Nia and how vulnerable I seemed to be around her. “Whatever

  • The Faceless Luna   Chapter 16.

Mira’s POV I watched Alpha Sorren drag Luna Nia away. Knots formed in my stomach, and I felt like vomiting at the sight, but I remained calm. I took the book I was reading the last time, and thankfully, I still had my pencil on me. I found a place to sit, wondering what business Alpha Sorren had with Luna Nia. I was using my pencil to continue what I was doing. I didn't realize that Khalid had crept in on me and was standing right behind me. “What are you drawing?” His voice jolted me, causing me to jump. The book flew out of my hands, and the pencil fell. Khalid chuckled as I grabbed the book and hugged it. “I'm sorry.” I muttered fearfully.“No, I'm sorry.” Khalid chuckled, walking closer. He had his seat beside me. “I startled you. What are you drawing?”I swallowed hard, unsure of what to say as I could be punished. “I'm sorry.” I muttered. “I can erase everything I've drawn.” “No, Mira.” Khalid rolled his eyes, making himself comfortable beside me.He stretched out his hand

  • The Faceless Luna   Chapter 15.

Sorren’s POV I spent the whole night on guard since the hunters didn't come close. Thankfully, Selina was at peace with me, nor bothering about the stupid words Harrison had uttered. My mind was filled with chaos, moving from Selina to Nia to Mira. Mira had the most time in my headspace. I was annoyed that she'd let her younger sister trample on her that much that she was so scared of her. “Alpha? Do you think the hunters would be back?” Peter asked, jolting me out of my thoughts.“Well, I think so.” I sighed, folding my arms. “If they don't attack tonight, it'd be because they know of Harrison’s presence.” “So, what do you want us to do?” Khalid asked, awaiting instructions. “I'll figure it out.” I said, like my mind wasn't already filled with thoughts of three women.“I'll stay on guard, Alpha.” Khalid whispered to me. “You should get some sleep.”“I will. I just need some fresh air.” I sighed.“Is it because Luna Nia is here?” Khalid asked, and I shot him a glare, forcing him

  • The Faceless Luna   Chapter 14.

Mira’s POV Alpha Sorren looked disturbed, although my current dilemma was being at that table, and the most horrible comment Alpha Harrison had made that'd probably put me in a lot of trouble with Lady Selina. “I'd like to excuse myself from the table to check out a situation.” Alpha Sorren growled, leaving the table. I started shaking my leg nervously as I stared at the food on my plate, unable to eat it. I thought about leaving since Alpha Sorren had headed out, but my legs were too weak. My knees kept shaking, and I couldn't even try to stand. “So, what do you think about the meal?” Lady Selina asked Alpha Harrison who chuckled and gave interesting compliments. I maintained eye contact with Arianna for a few seconds until Alpha Sorren walked back in. “It was a false alarm.” He said, taking his seat. He looked disturbed, but everyone kept eating. After what felt like an eternity of stirring food endlessly, I eventually left the table, and I ran straight to my room. I could h

  • The Faceless Luna   Chapter 13.

Sorren’s POV The faceless Luna made my skills look like a joke. I spent every sword strike trying to keep my head safe from all her attempts to kill me. She barely spoke a word and disappeared into nothing after almost killing me countless times. I had Mark, the Pack’s doctor , check out some of the injuries I sustained because they refused to heal as fast as every other wound. “I need to see whatever is doing this, because it doesn't seem normal any longer.” Mark sighed, shaking his head. And now, Alpha Harrison and a part of his pack stood before me. Nia was right beside him, and I couldn't help but look at her.“Alpha Sorren!” Harrison chuckled. “Thank you for letting us stay in your pack.” “Don't mention.” I responded.“You don't have to be so cold.” He rolled his eyes, moving over to hug Selina. Nia moved closer, looked in my eyes as she pulled me in for a hug like her mate had done with Selina. “Don't touch me.” I growled softly so that she'd be the only one to hear. She

  • The Faceless Luna   Chapter 12.

Mira’s POV Unable to leave my bed, I kept staring at the door, thinking about how to escape whatever Arianna and Alpha Harrison would throw at me. Arianna would definitely do everything to make my life miserable, and I might never be able to avoid it. There was another knock, and I shifted uncomfortably on the bed, imagining it to be Lady Selina. “Mira, it's me.” Raina’s voice came, making me calm. “Come in.”Raina walked in with her arms folded. She sat on the chair Alpha Sorren had just sat in. I hoped that she wouldn't catch his scent and then question me about it. “Look, I'm sorry.” She said, making me surprised. “I only reacted like that because I was jealous.” I almost forgot the pressing issue before Alpha Sorren came to deliver more bad news. “Because Justin told me to clean instead of you?” I asked, and her face flushed in embarrassment. That was the only thing I could think of since things went wrong at that time. “Yes.” She rolled her eyes, taking a deep breath. “H
