Fourty-nine

SHANE'S POV

I took the elevator to my office and silently wished that Erwan wasn’t there. I didn’t expect that he’ll take his words seriously. He told me he’s going to take me back from Frenzo and it’s been messing me up because he keeps on following me everywhere. I remember, back in college, he used to follow me like a dog too but that was because my father asked him to keep an eye on me in order to protect me from danger. Now, it’s too different. There’s no danger anymore and he doesn’t need to keep me safe any longer, but here he is, following me like a dog again.

A sigh of relief escaped from me when I didn’t see anyone lurching in my office door. Good.

“Good morning ma’am,” my employees greeted me and because I am in a good mood, I nodded and smiled at them.
