It was 7 o'clock in the evening and Valentina was in her old room at her parents house. The room brought back so much nostalgia to her, but she still loved it. She smiled so much while looking at the medium sized room which had felt big to her as a teenager.
The walls were all white because her mom had never let Valentina paint her white walls. Everything in the room was light colored. The window was small and her desk was directly underneath the window.
Valentina had always liked the color black as a child but her mom refused to make her whole closet or even her room that color.
After moving out of the house, she sold most of her old colorful clothes and gave the rest to Kendra. Now all she owned was gray, black, and white.
Valentina was sitting at the desk looking at herself in the small mirror. Then she decided to wear makeup tonight for her date.
Date, Valentina thought. I am going on a date with a man that is the Prince of all werewolves, and he is my mate. At this point it is too exhausting to freak myself out because this is already ridiculous.
She had already showered so she made a quick decision to call Kendra. The phone rang three times before Kendra picked up.
"Hey, Val," she said from the other side.
"Hey, Ken," Valentina said.
"Aren't you getting ready for your date with the prince? It is already 7:20 PM," she said.
"No. Actually l am not even close. I don't understand why I even said yes to going on a date with him. I should just avoid him till the end of time," Valentina said while rolling my eyes.
"What are you talking about, Val? He is your mate, and the two of you are soulmates," she said, her tone coming out worried.
"I know he is my soulmate, Ken. It is just that I..." Valentina trailed off, closing her eyes as she sighed.
"What is it, Val? Is he horrible? Does he have bad breath?" Kendra asked, dropping question after question on Valentina, her tone becoming more and more worried.
Valentina stopped her rambling immediately as she said, "No his breath is perfectly fine, if that is what you are asking."
Kendra gasped so loud that Valentina could bet that her mom could hear it from all the way downstairs. "Val! You have to tell me about it now! I want to know how Prince Alexander's breath smells like," she said in a very loud tone.
"Yeah, be louder. I can't wait for Liam to hear that his mate wants to know how the breath of another male smells like," Valentina said in a chastising tone.
"Oh, please. Every normal female in the werewolf kingdom wants to know about the young and handsome Prince Alexander."
As Kendra said that, Shay got really jealous immediately, so much that Valentina had to struggle to keep her from coming out and yelling at Kendra.
"His breath smells like mints," Valentina said to her.
"How do you know what his breath smells like?" she asked in a clearly amused tone.
"We may have kissed once," Valentina said while putting her head down and shaking it vigorously.
"Oh my God, Val. When did that happen?" she asked, and Valentina put the phone down and opened her desk drawer to get her makeup bag.
"I went for a run in the woods earlier and I guess so did he, and then we kissed."
"Val, you do know that you are living every she-wolfs dream," she said to her friend.
"Yeah it doesn't feel all bright, but I have to get ready for this date."
Valentina felt she was getting really nervous over a man, and she needed to get her shit together.
"Okay have fun, Val," Kendra said before she hung up the phone.
She put the phone down and started to work on her makeup. She didn't own any blue clothes, so she guessed the Prince would just have to be disappointed for once.
When she was finished with her makeup, she decided to curl her hair because why not. After she curled her hair, she took a hair band and tied it back in a pretty bun with some front curls sticking out.
Valentina didn't think she had any pretty dresses in her closet. Sure, she had really sexy dresses but those dresses were certainly not appropriate for a first date with the prince.
So she guessed that she would just have to wear a skirt. She went towards were her suitcases were stacked and took the top one, opening it up to reveal different types of skirts in it.
After some deliberations, she decided on a pretty black leather skirt with a slit, then she paired it with an ash colored satin tank top and black pumps.
Valentina just hoped that her outfit would do for this dinner with Prince Alexander. Honestly the thought about dates made her a bit uncomfortable because she was not used to them.
To be honest, dinner dates were strange to her because there was little or no relaxation involved, but because he had asked nicely so she had decided that it was worth a try since the guy was her soulmate or whatever it was that they called it.
-Being attached to you is exhausting, Shay said in her head which made Valentina to laugh out loud as she shrugged off her wolf's comment.
She looked in the mirror and checked whether her make up was nicely done. She used blue eyeshadow because he had said blue was his favorite color.
Valentina had thought that it was funny at the time because she didn't have anything blue in her closet. So that was why she had decided that her make up look was the best fit for the "something blue" as he had said.
Valentina finally decided that the only way that she could get through the little time she had left in the pack was pushing down these nervous feelings of becoming the Queen.
So she had to suppress the anger and sadness she felt about leaving her well ordered life for now and then beat the feelings out when they decided to come back at her with full force.
Valentina had told her mom about the date and she started freaking out. She throrougly cleaned the whole house so fast that Valentina thought she had super speed.
Mrs Sharpe was so happy that her first daughter had found her mate but she was really excited that her daughter was the mate to the prince, and she was going to be future Queen of all werewolves.
Valentina's dad hadn't said anything since he found out about the news of her mate, and she hadn't even seen him since the day of the general pack meeting.
Jamie still hadn't come out of his room to talk to her, but she didn't allow herself to dwell on that for now. She would talk to him tomorrow and smooth everything out.
Right now she was just trying to hold everything together and she thought she was clearly doing a terrible job at it.
Valentina got up and went towards another of her suitcases. This particular one had her jewelries in it. She opened it and picked out a stone studded choker which she paired with her outfit, looking in the mirror to check if she was good to go. She smiled at her reflection in the mirror, pleased to see that she was looking really good.
Then Valentina walked to her door and opened it, before she walked down the stairs. Her mom was in the kitchen making dinner for her brother and dad.
She was stirring macaroni and cheese in a pot and humming along to an old tune. When she heard the sound of heels clacking on the tiled kitchen floor, she turned and Iooked at Valentina.
She looked at Valentina for a while before speaking. "I really thought you would have gone for a more colorful look," she said and mother and daughter both started laughing, and in the middle of everything, the doorbell rang.
Maybe if I fall and twist my ankle, I won't have to go, Valentina thought as she looked towards the door.
It was an unassuming house, a three-story building, red brick with black shutters on a corner lot of the quiet street. Alex had parked two blocks away. Gareth and Matt took the back while Matilda and Alex approached from the street. Brown leaves were scattered on the lawn. Two maple trees and some miniature shrubs offered little in the way of concealment, so they stayed to one side of the building. "Hang back," Alex told Matilda."Yeah, right," she scoffed. Alex glanced at his mother and saw an annoying smirk. Yes! She would find this interesting, he thought dryly. Especially after what she had done earlier. Maltilda had helped them distract the demon wolves and even after then when Alex was on the verge of death. When he was torn between two critical decisions, Maltida had also been the one that rescued all the pack warriors. She had brought out their ice cannon and shot it at all the demon wolves, freezing them to death immediately. How she had done it so expertly and swift, he
Val woke up to a dark room. The sniffed around and the room smelt stange. Unfamiliar. Her head was banging and her throat was dry and scorching. Her whole body aches from having slept in the hard rugged ground. For some minutes, she could not remember what had happened and what she was doing in such a strange place. "Anyone there?" She called out as loud as she could as she blinked rapidly against the dark room. She tried to rack her brain to remember how she got. Wait a minute... she had gotten to the entrance of the witches kingdom, then she had heard a sound behind her, then she had turned to see some group of scary looking men, and then they had.. "Ohhh," she mouthed as her face contorted with horror. Yes! she had felt a very sharp and intense pain when they had hit her with something on her head. She did not even know what the thing was. It had happened too fast and she wasn't expecting it. Then she remembered something else, and this time, her breath caught hard in her throat.
By the time Val was done bathing, it was already noon. She was now feeling much better and stronger. She felt her muscles loosen and untie themselves in anticipation of a great journey. Pulling a blouse over her head, a smile spread across her face as she chortled quietly. Earlier today, it had been so funny when she had asked her mother about Sophie and her expression had changed. She had thought of the worst things that could have happened to her baby. But as it turned out, nothing had happened. Her mother had just decided to tease her a little, which had gone all wrong. She had been so vexed with her mom that she had demanded to be left alone for some times. But thank goodness, Sophie's condition had improved. Well technically, not really. The boils and rashes were still covering her skin, only that she had stopped her shrieking noise. The only thing she does when she feels the pain is to cry quietly. It was as if she had gotten used to it. Sophie was such a strong baby. As li
Roshan stood in front of his warriors, moving stealthily around and listening carefully for the slightest movement. Where could the Red Moon Pack bastards have gone? he wondered. He scanned the entire environment, he looked up at the sky, still he found not even a trace of them. He began stamping his feet on the ground to check if they had dug the earth up to cover themselves, but the ground was still as sturdy as ever. Then out of the corner of his eyes, he saw a foot track. He snorted contemptuously. Bastards been thinking they're smart, huh? He thought. He started tracing the track, moving carefully forward. Then he came to the end of the track. He gritted his teeth in anger. "Bastards!" he growled angrily. He started going from where he had first seen the track. All of a sudden, he stopped as if a thought had occured to him. He put a finger in his lips, signalling his pack members to be as quiet as they could be. Slowly, he raised his head up to stare up at the trees. "Stand
The demon wolves looked around to know where the sound was coming from. Even Alex was surprised. They could still hear the snapping of bones but they didn't know where it was coming from. Then there was a howl of pain followed by the ripping sound of clothes. Everyone turned in the direction of the sound. It was Kendra. She had shifted to her wolf form. Even the demon wolf that had been dragging her by her hair was surprised, he hadn't even noticed her slipping from his grasp and transforming. Without warning, Alex gave Kendra's daughter to one of the lower rank warriors. "Give the pup to her mother!" He instructed. "Alexander, you're making a hell of mistake!" the Alpha demon wolf said, revealing his slightly crooked fangs. He was glaring at Alex aggressively, and an intense murderous intention was evidently written on his face. "Bring it on, monster!" The Alpha demon wolf growled at him. He seemed not to like being called a monster. Good. Alex noted. "If you think anyone will b
Alex's wolf, Gary shook his body and his white furs bounced proudly on his back. "Mom, you're staying right here," he repeated. And was out of the office in the next moment as the office door banged shut. Once outside, Gary let out a howl drawing the attention of a demon wolf that had his back to him. The demon wolf turned and the only thing Alex could think about for a while was, what the fuck? What kind of a creature was this? he thought. In fact they shouldn't be called demon wolves at all, rather they should be called demon monster because what in goodness name was this? The demon wolf was twice in size as a normal werewolf, and he had a very ugly face. To Alex, the demon wolf that had just turned to look at him looked like shit. The face was that of a human, then he had very long fangs, longer than a regular werewolf's fangs and his claws were showing in his feet and hands. He also had two horns etched deep into two sides of his skull. He had the features of a human and wolf. I
